Chapit Senk (5)

Sekrè a terib revele

(The terrible secret is revealed)

Back in the lair some days later, the dragon noticed a stiff wind coming in from the sea so he was alert when the cloudburst came. He noticed that Violette had not packed away her bedding in the linen chest he’d given her. He knew the fine fabrics would all be ruined so he hurried to remedy the matter, using his body to shield them from the rain. He had not seen Violette in an hour or so. The dazzling moon elf had been playing in the creek, promising to collect little tumbled stones that made her happy; there were quite a few garnets and she was hoping to get enough for a complete necklace.

With the heavy sudden rain, it began to concern him slightly as he knew the caldera sometimes overflowed its banks into the creek. He used his winged claws to get her precious items, he was worried that without her fine bedding she would truly be so miserable he could never see her smile again! He closed the chest and put it in the nearby cave. He knew how she hated the rain. Then he went to find her. He called out for her in a long roar, over and over. “Violette!’ though she was nowhere in sight. He could hear the roar and boom of the creek suddenly turning violent as it raced downhill.

He was thinking about turning back as he felt he’d gone further than she possibly could have. He landed and listened. He heard her screaming his name, but it was in her own elvish tongue ‘Ekleraj!’ He called back and followed the sound until he could see her, at least what looked like her wedged tightly in a ravine. The stunning creature that made his every moment more exciting and hopeful was replaced with something strange. She had webbed hands, as well as webbed feet with long poison spikes on the end. The rocks had caused her feet to crack and bleed. She was crying profusely. Her voice had changed; she sounded like a soft song made of many silver bells. She stopped yelling and dipped her head in shame. The dragon was calm “Stop trying to fight the rocks they are cutting you …” she did as he said while more water washed over her. In all his years he had never seen such a beautiful thing. As more water began to cover her scaley webbed feet began to glitter up her whole body.

Soon she was a massive 8ft tailed creature. Her purplish scales reached and covered each breast, yet showed her chest line and navel, her tail was that of a vicious shark.

It now became clear to him what she must have been. One of her parents had been a merperson, using a potion to live on land with the Elves. He had heard that The Moon Elves had been the least racist of the high-class breeds. They often bred half breeds; she must have been one. Her tail was built like a shark yet streamed on and on forever with vast shades of violet like her eyes. Glittering with a vast shining seafoam green all over her body. It shines like stars, the way her skin did at night or when she was doing spells.

He dug away at the sides of the ravine to free her. “Perhaps now that you can be true to yourself, you will be less unhappy. I truly hope so; it is hard to maintain appearances as you have been doing, always worried that the secret would be uncovered to your disadvantage.”

The soft cry she left out tugged at his cold heart. She covered her face with her purple and green webbed hands. She was lovely and now he understood, “I am unhappy as I have lost everything; my hopes, my dreams, my secrets.”

The dragon bent his head down to get to her level. She focused on the flecks in his large eyes from her spot. “Come, I will put you in the caves and we can get you the creams you like for your cuts. “She sniffled, speaking still in her new enchanting way. “You won’t betray me?”

He shook his head, snorting a little. “I won’t let anything happen to you little one.” He sounded wounded in his heart. “I understand now why you get so scared when bathing and seem so unhappy, please be unhappy no further. I shall keep you safe.” He was thinking deeply about how frantic she was to still be away from home. All his gifts and treasure had failed to wash away her homesickness; he lowered his tail for her and she grabbed on. They lifted gracefully into the air. The wind thrashed at her long 8 ft tail that was not meant for high-speed winds.

The further from the water she got, the more she began to polymorph back into the in-between stage. Though this had not been as beautiful and lacked the full luster of sparkling bubbles as her tail reverted to legs. Soon she was placed by a small crackling fire in the cave. He watched her hands glow a bright violet as she placed them on her half way morphed legs, steam from heat began to rise off her scaly skin and turn to her shiny lilac-colored tones again. Her voice normalized as she spoke covering her body from him. “Are there any of my dresses left?″

She heard the massive shifting of his wings as he covered his head away from her. “I am not looking now, so you may look and see. I saved your pretty shinies.” Soon Violette began to rummage in the chest. A cold chill rushed over her slender body as she dug and dug until she found a wrinkled satin dress that matched the trim of the doors back home. A musty murky brown, with many layers of lace as well as green trimmed velvet skirting. Once it was on, she found herself touching his wings tenderly. He began to unravel himself. Her long face seemed somber once more rain thrashed into the small cave made from the cliff face.

He instructed her to move back as far as she could go. She got against the wall as he dumped out its contents and blasted the chest again to make it warmer as he used his many coils to shield the entrance. “That should keep you warm tonight little one the fire was placed together with washed up twigs very quickly and with me shielding most of the rain away with my body it will die out.” She hugged her knees and yawned a little. She thought of the sweet little fruits that sprouted at the base of the massive mushroom trees on her home isles. A long sigh left her lips as she looked over at the dragon.

“Thank you for saving all my pretty bedding and nice things.” This got her a smile from the dragon. She went to everything though her feet hurt. She thought about what he said below when her body had been trapped. Cream on her feet sounded pleasant now. For some strange reason so did a nice bath in his outdoor caldera.

She was now in bed with her feet resting deep in the covers.

It was at dawn that he shrouded her in the folds of one foot, the shared treasure in the other. They flew up gently, he asked her several times if her grip was secure. She leaned her head into him and watched the world go by. He took her high above where the layout of the mountain was clearer - the two pools, the lair, and the river being the significant features. The cold pool was almost perfectly round and impossibly blue on this sunny day.

He took her lower, doing lazy spirals then did a barrel roll. She shrieked half in delight and half in fear. He looped the loop and then dove just barely touching the water before gaining altitude again. She did not realize it, but he kept the caldera always beneath her while he showed off his tricks. He knew that she could dive and not be injured from her trick in the ocean. She begged him to stop and he said he would only consider it if she would do everything that imagined. She would have been stubborn about this, except that was already exactly what she intended to do. When he set her down her heart was racing and adrenaline pumped through her system.

The Moon Elf was naked before him now with her basket of nice things he had brought up for her while storing his massive treasure find away from the wind and rain. She had fine creams of lavender as well as huge natural soap bars made with pumice, honey, rose oil and goat milk added in. She was elated that he had added hair oils for her fine silver tresses as well. To the dragon her body was slender and curved in mysterious ways he found himself urging her forward now gently.

“Let me see you as your happy self again.” His long snake-like tongue teased her nipples; she shuddered and blushed. His eyes had mesmerized her as before. She began to speak in thick Elvish. “What have you done to me, lightning dragon?”

His grin showed every fanged tooth behind his expression. “I have taken you as my maiden. Have I not spoiled you as I promised? Even when you keep giving away my gold and rubies?” He huffed impatiently.

Her gentle hands soothed his anger now as she began to play with his face. She was breathing slowly.

“You have, my bright shining sun, but I had always hoped with a part of me that I could prove those who spoke against me wrong.” He had brushed a tear of regret from her face with the sharp tip of his tail. He licked it clean of the little bit of golden blood that trailed it.

“Proving others wrong and destiny are not the same path. Love and pain can sometimes lead to something better bit by bit. It is I; mighty Wakhangli, that has made your sorrows vanish! You are the only creature in 300 years to sleep under my wing.” What he said was true, but he had left out other similar arrangements, thinking it might tarnish his point.

He began to stumble around impatiently; her observant eyes could see how inpatient the large dragon was. Now she turned from him and began to slip in the water. It bubbled and glittered deeply. He still thought of what a stunning sight this living treasure had been for him. Soon she was the bright starlike creature of the deep, He loved how large she was under the water.

“Is it my place to teach you mercy and kindness for one living thing at least?” The dragon quieted her with his tongue. He slipped into the bath; his back legs gripped onto her pulling her deeper in. She did not fight meeting him in his dance. There had been many moans and the two tenderly washed one another. They used gazes in the dance to sing a heart song only each of them knew. His growl was mighty; it shook the lands, causing even the bold vulture birds to flee in fright. Nothing living but the two remained in sight.

Violette’s body was so much larger in this form. Her tantalizing treasure fitted him; it sang to him. Dragons often take what is wanted by force most of them are evil yet this kind of dance was not evil. His wings wrapped around them and shielded anything that might be seen from the outside world. His tongue once again explored the parts of her neck that made her shudder. “You must promise to never slay me. You have … at least one true friend, your soleil.” He spoke the last word in Elvish for her. “If you are scared or lonely, think back to this time in the water that was brought to life by this dance.” His whisper was soothing as her body shuddered with unbearable pleasure.

This was their own soft song and no one else’s. He too found ecstasy as he roared again into the sky causing it to crack with ferocious thunder. Violette did not scream out in fear; she only dipped her head all the way back to keep her gaze in his charming eyes. He had complete submission from his shiny… Her tail rolled with ecstasy as she sang a siren song that took control of him as well. Her voice drove the dance as she pleased, his ears heard the praise of the things she loved most about him: his light and his fragrance when he took her. His claws marked her, making her bleed. It excited him driving the dance. Her voice moaned more and sang less.

The water was soon full of a thick glittering blue-green slime. She twirled in it. Swimming after the luscious dance the treasure loved so much. Her eyes seemed lazy and dull. He noted for the first time now that deep in the water as a mermaid she had the hair of the strands of a jellyfish. It did not burn or shock his scales as he was immune to most poison and electricity though he supposed that is what made her safe from others who might try to eat her in the water. The dragon’s mighty tail wrapped around her as he went about his way brushing his teeth then bringing her to the shore. Her mind was still in a maze as she dried herself. The dragon watched the sunset over the lands. The silhouette of the old volcano was so beautiful this time of day. It told stories with purples and blues and shadow into the lands. The trees liked to join in this game.

Violette soon had the tall slender figure of her elvish form once more. He hid her under his wing while she placed on a deep long glowing purple gown. He had found her a crown from a dead human queen with pearls in its center he thought she might like. She placed it on and the two returned to the deepest of his dwellings.
