Chapter Goodbye (21)
Chapter Twenty One
Stone P.O.V
The day I have been dreading has come for me and I can't stop it. We took some of her blood to see if we can't find something but we have found nothing to bring her back and a vampire queen must me laid to rest the second day after she dies.
As usual all four covens are present for the burial service and hear I am comforting Kyle because he's taking this harder than me.
"We have to see her before she goes. We have to say goodbye" I softly said to Kyle
"I don't want to" he sobbed back
"Many vampires have gone crazy after their beloved dies and had to be put down but we are different. We have a coven to lead, each other to cope with and the love Anna gave us to live on for" I replied
"Will I ever move on?" he asked me
"That is up to you" I replied.
After a few minutes he stood up, fixed his clothing and outstretched his hand for me take.
"Let's go" he said quietly
Walking into the room they have her body in we saw her upon entrance. She looked like an angel in sleeping.
The boat that she will be sailed on was decorated with white lilies, her favorite. She had on a simple white dress and her gold curls were scattered across her body.
She looked so beautiful, I immediately started teary up again. I waited over 400 years for my beloved and she slipped through my fingers in the matter of 6 months.
I brought my hands up to her face and traced my fingers along her cheek remembering her smile, her laugh, how her eyes lit up when we bought marshmallows or how she would squeal when Kyle brought Coco Puffs cereal.
I laughed remembering how she and Kyle were fighting over the last bowl and when it fell she gave him the silent treatment until he bought her a new box.
Wiping my tears I remembered how she talked about having kids and treating them as her world and not like how she grew up neglected and abused.
She never got to have children. Our children.
"Well I've heard there was a secret chord
That David played and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
Well it goes like this:
The fourth, the fifth, the minor fall and the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah" Kyle started singing
I remember this song because it was her favorite. She couldn't sing but she always sang this song everywhere.
"Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Well your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew ya
She tied you to her kitchen chair
And she broke your throne and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah" he continued and I joined in with him
"Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
But baby I've been here before
I've seen this room and I've walked this floor
You know, I used to live alone before I knew ya
And I've seen your flag on the marble arch
And love is not a victory march
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah" I didn't even realize Dean and the entire coven were here until they joined in.
They all knew she loved this song because she sang it to the kids on day when they came to play with their queen and although she sounded terrible you could see she loved to be around the kids and would do anything for them. The kids knew she couldn't sing but the loved her presence.
"Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Well there was a time when you let me know
What's really going on below
But now you never show that to me do ya
But remember when I moved in you
And the holy dove was moving too
And every breath we drew was
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah"
I laughed for the first time since she died. Not because I'm happy but because she was always happy when she sang this.
"Maybe there's a God above
But all I've ever learned from love
Was how to shoot somebody who outdrew ya
And it's not a cry that you hear at night
It's not somebody who's seen the light
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah" We finished together.
Some of the members started crying because they know as well as we do that we can't prolong it any longer. It's time to let her go. One word I never wanted to tell her since the day I found her.
Goodbye.
