Chapter 439 Defend Her

“Chloe, don’t push it!” Victoria warned.

Despite Victoria’s attempts to persuade Chloe, she was

unwilling to listen, causing Victoria to become increasingly

frustrated.

“You’re the one pushing it! Do you really think of me as your Shawn family’s free nanny? Haven’t I endured enough, humiliation from you and the Shawn family over the past

three years? Don’t make it appear as though I owe you

anything!” Chloe snapped.

After receiving 600 million dollars from Admas, Chloe was

grateful and willing to agree to Admas‘ request to marry

“You…” Victoria was speechless with fury.

She came to Chloe, thinking Chloe would agree to at least one

of her three requests.

Victoria, trembling in anger, raised her hand to slap Chloe.

Anticipating Victoria’s attack, Chloe swiftly dodged backwards, causing her body to collide with the table in front of her. The cup toppled over, and the juice spilled out.

Water dripped onto the hem of Chloe’s clothes, making them

sticky.

Michael really had no way to contact Chloe these days.

He had tried every possible way

Chloe had completely blocked him.

Ethan suggested that he try transferring the money.

So, Michael transferred money to Chloe through his bank card, enabling him to establish communication with her.

Despite receiving a scolding from Chloe, Michael felt happy simply because she had responded to him.

He was even in high spirits during the meeting.

Halfway through the meeting, Michael’s phone alerted him to a location message sent by Chloe.

Filled with delight, Michael assumed that she had agreed to

meet him.

As he abruptly stood up from his swivel chair, all the employees in the conference room turned their attention towards him. One of them spoke up, asking, “Mr. Shawn, is there any problem with the plan?”

“No. Asher will follow up on the rest. Alright, dismissed,” Michael responded.

With that, he pushed the door open and left Shawn Heavy Industries cheerfully.

As soon as he got out of the car, he saw Chloe and Victoria sitting by the glass window of the restaurant.

Before he entered, he saw Victoria reaching out to slap Chloe.

Startled, he strode in quickly.

Victoria became even more annoyed when she saw that she had made things worse.

She stood up and wanted to slap Chloe again.

Just as Victoria’s hand lingered in the air, poised to slap, Michael firmly seized her hand before it could make contact

with Chloe.

“Have you had enough!” he growled.

Victoria’s expression was stunned momentarily as she didn’t expect Michael to appear suddenly.

Michael’s eyes turned cold, and he shook her hand away forcefully.

“Michael, I’m here to ask Chloe for the bracelets. It’s the

Shawn family’s heirloom. Since you’re divorced, she should

return it!” Victoria explained, trying to prove that she was not

the one at fault.

“Grandpa gave them to her. Grandpa didn’t even ask her to return. Why did you come here to ask for them?” Michael

retorted.

He had always been discontent with the relatives in his family.

He had seen before how they had made things difficult for

Chloe when he was away. So, now, his dissatisfaction with

Victoria intensified even further.

“But they were your mother’s legacy! You divorced her, and she took so much money. Now she refuses to return the

Victoria felt that Michael had been bewitched by Chloe, leading to his current stance and actions.

Those things didn’t belong to Chloe in the first place!

Victoria was rendered speechless. Was he cursing her to

death?

“I’m sorry, but he may not have told you that I didn’t take a penny from the Shawn family when we divorced,” said Chloe.

She didn’t take the bracelets Victoria had mentioned, either.

She had always kept them in Lotus Manor and had never

taken them away.

A flicker of surprise crossed Victoria’s eyes as she hadn’t expected that Chloe wouldn’t ask for money.

Victoria let out a small sigh of relief.

“Michael, I’m your aunt. You shouldn’t have been so rude to

me.”

leave.

The glass of juice spilled on her white clothes, and it was particularly obvious now.

He took off his coat and wrapped it around her waist, saying, “Cover it up.”

Chloe’s heart skipped a beat, as if something had suddenly

broken.

She turned around suddenly and pushed him away.
