Chapter 02: Lake

When everybody had finally settled with their room arrangements the boys helped us carry our bags upstairs. Jaden still continued to whine bugging me to let me be his roommate. I just told him that we could just exchange rooms but there is no way that I will be sharing a room with him. After I said that he just shut his mouth and went back to the room where he and Vince are sharing. Vince is a junior who is their teammate. He is the shy quiet one unlike Jaden so they are complete opposites.

You’d think that he is older than him. Maybe that’s why people ended up agreeing that the two stay together without saying vocally.

I just arranged my clothes in the closet which I am sure the rest of the gang are doing. I continued on placing my essentials in my comfort room before making my way downstairs with nothing else to do. I closed my door as I walked to the stairs when I bumped into a wall. I held my head groaning as I looked up and saw that it was no wall rather a person. It was the same man that I saw earlier. He still has the same knot in his forehead as he looked at me with that excruciating gaze.

“Sorry.” I muttered when we stayed in the exact same position for a few seconds and no one was speaking. He looked at me as if he didn’t care before continuing walking downstairs ahead of me. I groaned again this time out of frustration. Annoying! No wonder no one wanted to share a room with him everyone else had to share with someone.

I continued walking downstairs to the pantry to get some snacks. All the folding and my annoyance with the man earlier made me hangry! I just took a bag of chips before making my way to the sofa where the boys are already watching TV. They greeted me as I shared some snacks with them.

“You guys are done putting away your stuff?” I asked them as they looked so serious watching the basketball game. They looked like they’ve been here for a while now. They must be quick with their things if they were here since earlier.

“What stuff?” Sebastian teased, grinning. He has always been a huge flirt. It comes out so naturally that even though he didn’t intend it to be he flirts with everyone. That’s why he has a reputation with the ladies.

I just rolled my eyes at him, “Of course you’re a pig.”

“I’m not!” he said, acting so defensive as I shook my head not believing him. We became partners for an activity before and when I went to his place to study together his whole room was like a pigsty. Everything was so unarranged. He has clothes everywhere. I even saw a pizza box under the bed when I smelled something funny. He is very clean with his body but when it comes to other things he was awful at it. That’s why no one wants to be his roommate but Theo was forced to be with him because he, being his senior, wants to clean up after him. Same reason why Vince is with Jaden. The two would be next year’s captain and co-captain so this would be their somewhat initiation.

“Yeah, keep telling yourself that.” I replied, munching on the potato chips. Sebastian tried to take a chip from me but I pulled the bag away from him and offered it to Theo. Sebastian just pouted before crossing his arms to his chest and continued watching the game.

We continued watching the game until the girls joined us.

“Are we just going to watch TV? We are in the middle of the forest. We have a lot of things to do!” Natasha said. She is friends with Elora who has the same degree as her and the president of her sorority.

“Tasha’s right. We are just a few minutes to the lake, right? Let’s go.” Erica replied. She is Natasha’s best friend and the vice president of their sorority. We didn’t get to meet a lot so I don’t really know her that much. Natasha is the only one I actually hang out with a few times because of Elora.

The rest of the girls nodded as I did the same while the boys groaned.

“You girls go if you want to. We’re staying here and rest. We’ll just follow you after the game.”

“Haven’t you guys rested enough?”

All of them just shrugged.

“Kill joys.” Olivia answered, crossing her arms to her chest. She is Elora and I’s orgmate. She treats Elora as her older sister because she idolizes her. She said that she is beautiful, smart, and has a great boyfriend that’s why she aspires to be like her. She follows us most of the time so amongst the girls that we are with now she is the only one I can say that I get along well.

“So, are we going to the lake?” Nikita asked. She is Olivia’s best friend. She is such an adorable sweetheart because unlike her best friend she is so innocent and kind of dense.

I nodded, standing up from my seat, “Let’s go. I’ll just call Elora’s so she can guide us.”

The girls cheered as they went back up to change. I walked to Elora’s and Logan’s room just right beside mine and knocked. I didn’t want to walk in on both of them again. I was traumatized the first time it happened. I returned back from my class earlier than expected because our professor had to cancel for a personal emergency so when I returned to our dorm I saw them going at it on the sofa. I feel like I have to wash my eyes with holy water for weeks just to remove the image from my mind.

“We’re decent!” my best friend said giggling as I opened the door. There I saw her wearing Logan’s jersey that looks like a dress. Thank god! My gaze then moved to Logan who was shirtless but at least he was wearing basketball shorts.

“We’re going to the lake. Mind if you join us?”

“Sure!” she said, jumping from their bed.

“I’ll meet you downstairs. I’ll just go change.”

I went back to my room and looked for a bikini to wear. I am confident with the bikini now unlike before when I was still a pre-pubescent after going to the beach every summer after being friends with Logan and Elora. At first, I was bothered by it but slowly I became comfortable with my own skin. I wasn’t as curvy as my best friend but I do have a decent body.

After picking up a bikini to wear I put on some sunscreen and wore the same shorts that I was wearing earlier and a white knitted white cover up. Once I’m prepared I joined the others downstairs. The girls are already wearing their bikinis underneath their sarongs, coverups, and shorts. Myla follows behind me along with Logan who is still shirtless but changed into his trunks.

“Not going to wear a shirt?” I asked as Logan grinned.

“Why would I hide this beauty?” he said, gesturing to his body. Well he does have the body of a Greek god I give it to him. No wonder my best friend can’t get enough of him.

I just rolled my eyes seeing my best friend just wearing her bikini and tunic tied to her hips. She too was confident with her body just like him. Why would I be surprised? They go to the gym together. I remember she told me before when they stayed here they were naked the whole time since it’s just the two of them.

“Right, Aspen is joining us.”

“Aspen?” I asked. Who is Aspen?

“Yeah. Hey, Aspen! We’re going!” he said shouting as the man I was irritated with emerged with a black shirt and trunks.

Great, he is joining us.
