Chapter 49
CATHERINE
"Catherine... Catherine..." Ryan whispered and shook my arm.
A light lit up inside me and I widened my eyes. Damn...
This wasn't reality... I had been dreaming.
I caught sight of Ryan standing next to me at the windowsill, looking down at me. "W-what's wrong?" I asked him, out of breath and apparently drenched in sweat.
I had to swallow hard and ran my fingers through my hair. I looked around me in irritation. Yes, that was a dream... Damn. My mood was suddenly at rock bottom and I wanted to kill Ryan for waking me up.
I was kind of disappointed... Disappointed that this scene was just 'over'.
Rose rolled her eyes 'Come to your senses girl, or they'll think you're insane,' she said.
Ryan had probably noticed that I was lost in my thoughts and cleared his throat 'Nothing.... I just came to check on you and found you on this bench, you must have fallen asleep here last night. You were so restless and I thought I'd wake you up to save you from your nightmare..." he said, biting his lower lip.
All I could do now was pray that my underpants weren't damp and that you could smell my arousal all over the room.
I shook my head hastily "No, it's all right... Can you please leave?" I finally said, frowning. Why did he have to wake me up?
He nodded slightly "Yes-I just wanted to apologize to you for what happened yesterday...I'm sorry for that reaction... It was stupid of me to leave you alone in that situation in the first place, I should have stayed with you."
Those words sounded damn familiar.
"Get out..." I said, looking at him with wide eyes.
"OUT!" I told him and pointed to the door.
He wordlessly took two steps backwards and bit his lower lip. "Please go Ryan, I'm not in the mood to talk to you about this right now.... We'll talk later." I said and caught sight of Ilay walking over to us.
They couldn't be serious? "I-I have to go to the toilet." I said hastily and got up abruptly and ran into the bathroom, closing the door behind me.
I let the cold water run and wet my whole face with it.
Oh God Catherine... It was just a dream. Calm down.
It was too good to be true. You two would never agree, what was I thinking?
I grabbed the Kilian-Good Girl gone Bad perfume... Great title, by the way, and sprayed myself with it to cover up my aroused scent.
I looked in the mirror and combed my hair into a ponytail and then ran back out into the room.
They were both still there, communicating silently as if in a dream. They both looked over at me. Ilay stepped out and came closer to me: "We really need to talk to you." He started, but I didn't let him continue: "I'm not going to talk to anyone today, just to be clear. Now leave me alone." I said and wanted to storm out of the room, but two strong hands held me by the hips. "Cate... Please, you have to listen to us. Listen to us and then you can always leave..." Ryan demanded.
Fucking tingling. His touch gave me goosebumps.
Ilay raised his eyebrows, apparently trying to read me again. "Get out of my brain!" I hissed at him, glaring at him angrily.
He sniggered and grinned. He probably knew what was going on inside me...
My cheeks turned pink with embarrassment and I had to swallow hard.
I couldn't stand being in the same room with them both. It was pure torture.
Every time I thought about the dream, I got all tingly and warm. I instinctively squeezed my thighs together in the hope that things would get better, but that didn't change the fact that I was totally hot for these two idiots.
Ryan gave him an irritated look and his question was written all over his face.
Ilay looked between and two and waved him off "It's nothing.... I need to laugh about something else that's popped into my head." he tried to wave Ryan off.
I bit my lower lip.
'Thank you...' I said quietly to him.
'No problem, sweetie... If that's what you want...' Ilay winked provocatively at me.
I took my hands off Ryan and looked at them both 'Um, I have to help Achira with the Christmas decorations. I'm actually late. See you later!" I croaked out, having to be careful not to trip over my feet, which had been turned to mud.
I ran out of the room and went down to the kitchen, in the kitchen, hoping to find Achira and engage with her somehow.
ILAY
I glanced after Catherine, who stormed out of the room, and burst out laughing.
Ryan gave me an irritated look "What's wrong with you today?" he asked me confused and sat down on Catherine's bed.
I rolled my eyes "Can't you smell her scent?" I asked him with raised eyebrows.
He frowned in confusion and looked at me "The only thing I can smell is this perfume, too flowery in my opinion if you ask me." he said.
I rolled my eyes again "Man, you have long lines. She couldn't pull herself together because she was completely aroused," I said, raising my eyebrows.
Ryan raised his eyebrows in surprise and then looked confused "She was out of breath and drenched in sweat when I found her here.... Do you think she dreamt about it?" Ryan asked, biting his lower lip.
I nodded slightly "And how she dreamed about it, it was a threesome." I winked at Ryan and finally ran out the door.
"Oh god, hell." Ryan muttered to himself and followed me out as well.
"Maybe we really should give her some time after this number." I said with a laugh and ran down the stairs.
Resisting Catherine was really hard and apparently she wanted us so much that she was dreaming about it by now.
I sighed softly as I remembered the promise I had made to Ryan. I had seriously promised him that I would keep my hands off her as long as she was pregnant.
Speaking of pregnant. Catherine hadn't mentioned anything to the two of us yet, even though she actually knew now. Was she trying to hide it from us? I bit my lower lip and went into the kitchen with Ryan.
Achira had made breakfast. The whole kitchen smelled wonderful and I spotted Catherine sitting at the table sipping her cappuccino. They were talking to Achira about the Christmas decorations.
I cleared my throat and looked at them both "Good morning Achira, are you all right?" I asked her.
She nodded, "Yes, I am." she said and smiled at me intrusively. "We want to have a man-free day today, just to get that into your heads in time," she finally said.
Achira had a commanding manner about her and would probably be the one wearing the pants in her relationship.
I nodded slightly, "So what are your plans for today?" I asked her, pouring myself an espresso from the coffee machine.
"We're going into town to buy some new Christmas decorations. I was in the cellar yesterday and all I found was the old dung heap. I think we need something new this year." She said, smiling at me.
"We could help you carry the bags?" Suggested Ryan, also grabbing a cup.
"MEN'S FREE ZONE" Achira said again clearly. She scowled at Ryan and actually still resented him for biting her.
"We get it" I said, sipping my espresso cup.
Catherine didn't say anything, watching us from the corner where she was sitting like a frightened deer keeping a close eye on its surroundings in order to escape in time.
It would be mean to tease her.
"You can go about your business in the meantime. Your pack and your demons are waiting." Achira said, handing Catherine the pancakes she had just made.
"Thank you," Catherine said to Achira and smiled at her.
"No thanks, the baby needs feeding. I'm sure it'll be really cute with a little chubby one." Achira beamed and smiled broadly.
Catherine looked at me uncertainly and was suddenly very pale. No wonder, she didn't think we knew anything about it yet and her whole world was probably falling apart.
"Don't worry, they found out about it through Erol," Achira said to Catherine and grabbed her hand to encourage her. "It's nothing you need to hide for," she said to Catherine.
Apparently Cate was speechless. She left her coffee and didn't even dare to eat.
'Don't worry, everything will be fine,' I said to her in my thoughts and looked at her. She looked me in the eye too and seemed to be sorry. 'I'm sorry, I didn't know about it until yesterday...' she said.
Apparently she felt really guilty towards me.
Ryan looked at her too, but didn't say anything.
'It would be really good if we could all talk together in peace, Cate. We can do that after you've finished shopping, though,' I said, nodding at Ryan. 'Let's go, we've got things to do too,' I said to him, draining my espresso in one go.
We both grabbed a pancake each from Achira and walked over to my office.
Ryan, meanwhile, said nothing more and followed me silently.
'We'll pull ourselves together, Ryan...' I reminded him and sighed.
I closed the door behind my office and glared at him. "She didn't think we knew anything about it. Maybe she just needed time to tell us, especially since she was still angry about the two of us," I finally said, plopping down in my chair.
"We have a house to build now. I've contacted my architect and told him to draw up a plan that suits Catherine," I finally said and opened my computer.
I opened the plans of the house in the mail, how it should be built and explained everything to Ryan.
He leaned against the table and agreed. "That sounds good, I'm sure she'll like it." He finally said.
"And where are we going to build the whole thing?" he asked me.
I shrugged my shoulders. "I was thinking that if it was near her old pack, then at least she'd have visitors from her family and friends every now and then. Maybe that would be good for her?" I suggested.
Ryan paused and bit his lower lip "I can already tell you that our "father-in-law" is a big asshole." he finally said and laughed.
I looked at him in confusion, "Why? What happened between you two?" I asked him, irritated.
Ryan just grinned at me. "Oh, you'll get to know Alexander, now that he even knows that you're responsible for his daughter's jump... Let's put it this way, my cards were bad from the start, but yours? He doesn't even use your cards to play."
That didn't sound very pleasant, if he told me the whole thing like that, Catherine's father must really be a tough guy.
That's that saying? Time heals all wounds... After all, Ryan also had to warm to me.
