'We finally made it...' Onyx cooed, looking dreamily at Catherine and Liya.

'Yes, we did...' I replied, smiling at the sight of Cate with Liya.

'Chiara's right, she would certainly make a great mother,' Onyx returned.

'You were lucky last time, she was far away, but this time she'll probably be in the same nest as you. Onyx smirked.

"Is everything all right with you?" Catherine asked me. I looked at her and nodded, "Yes, everything's fine." I smiled at her.

Maya had really succeeded with dinner, the smell alone was intoxicating. I bit into my steak with relish "This tastes heavenly," I said and held the fork in front of Catherine's mouth. "Try it," I said and waited for her to open her mouth.

She looked at me for a moment, confused, but then took the bite. She nodded and agreed with me "Yes, it tastes really good."

"Thank you, thank you." Said Maya, who was sitting next to Tristan and scooping up the food with relish.

"You're finally up, you cripple," I teased Tristan. He grinned at me and got down to eating too.

All in all, the evening was a great success, Catherine was my Catherine again and not the evil witch, we were lucky that not much damage was done and we were able to evaluate everything as quickly as possible. The whole situation could have ended differently.

After everyone had eaten and drunk, everyone made their way to the room. I had made the guest rooms available for Catherine's family.

"But I want to sleep with Catie!" Liya raged, crossing her arms defiantly in front of her chest.

Chiara laughed and shook her head "No dear, you'll be sleeping with us for the first time tonight, we'll see tomorrow, maybe you can sleep with her then." Chiara winked at us. Catherine immediately blushed and put her hand to her forehead, looking down at the floor in embarrassment.

"Now say goodnight and then it's off to bed!" Chiara instructed Liya. She nodded dutifully and gave Cate a kiss on the cheek. "Good night," she trilled and ran after Chiara.

I looked at Catherine and smiled. 'She really is a sweetie pie,' I said.

'Not just her...' Onyx commented.

Catherine nodded "Yeah, she's a really smart girl and she's cute too."

Catherine yawned and put her hand over her mouth. "God I'm tired..." she said. I shook my head "Nothing there! What was that again? Alpha or Daddy?" I grinned at her and put my hands around her waist.

Her face turned bright red "Ehm, I've never said that before, have I?" she said in an almost squeaky voice.

I laughed and shook my head "Oh, and how you said that."

I picked her up in my arms and ran up the stairs with her. "I can walk on my own." she protested and glared at me.

She shrugged her shoulders "What can I say? It was all too much for me and Daeva's idea that I should just switch off my feelings was the only thing I had left..."

"The only thing you had left? You could have talked to me, Cate..."

She shook her head "I-I couldn't. She threatened me that I'd be the next one to carry out a suicide mission and the way she was going, I seriously wouldn't have put it past her.... She put Rose and me in a state of pain that was indescribable, if I'm not mistaken, I even used it on Kilian... Damn..." she said, holding her hands in front of her face.

She looked up at me again, "I've done a hell of a lot of shit, haven't I?" she said.

I was speechless from what she was telling me. I immediately pulled her into my arms and sighed "You're unlucky Catherine, unlucky me."

I gave her a kiss on the top of her head and played with her hair.

"I'm glad everything's back to normal too," she said.

She suddenly looked at me, startled, "H-Have I really killed Arnor and James?" she asked me, panic writ large on her face.

"Yes, you killed them, Catherine, but it wasn't you and the bastards deserved it." I took her hand in mine and gave her a kiss on the back of it.

"I-I fed Arnor's heart to James..." she said again, biting her lip.

"You didn't deserve it any other way," I replied, taking her face in my hand. "Cate, this is over now, don't let this eat at you, do you understand me?" I said seriously and looked at her.

She just nodded and looked down.

I looked at her and rolled my eyes. I grabbed Catherine and sat her on my lap. "You have me now, Catherine, and a pack that will stand behind you forever. Now no one can stop us from finally living in peace.

I nodded slightly "You're welcome to sleep here if you prefer" I said and looked at her.

I nodded slightly and watched her walk out of the room.
