Chapter 36
DELILAH
What do you want now Ilay? Cause trouble again? Wait for the right moment again until you lose control of yourself? How many times is this going to happen? You've been leading us to our doom for a damn year now. Who do you think you are? Do you think that just because you're on a rollercoaster I'm going to let you have a completely innocent soul? Not this time Ilay! Get out or I'll kill you!" I stood outside the door and heard Nael arguing with Ilay and stormed into the room.
"I was so scared for you, Nael..." I looked worriedly at his wound and was worried that he was hurt.
"Would you like to go on a trip to Italy?" Nael asked me, looking primarily at me and then at my father, who asked me what I should do in Italy.
"We have to go and see Ragnol... He's the only one who knows the law of demons and can help us with Ilay," Nael explained, deciding that I was coming to Italy.
"What if I don't want you to pull yourself together?" I asked Nael as I sat on his lap, eager to get more from him...
"You don't know what you're asking me to do, Delilah," he whispered softly as his hands ran over my body, making everything inside me tremble.
"You think I'm the nice guy, but I'm only nice to you... In reality, I'm a fucking killer and no better than Ilay... The only thing that makes me different from him is that I can control myself and I'm not out to kill people for no reason..." Nael tried to explain himself to make me believe that he was the bad guy, but I didn't agree and didn't want to accept it.
"You are the reason why my heart beats faster every time... I can't explain it, but these feelings are real. Every time I see you and you're near me..." I had kissed Nael and silenced him while I spent the best evening of my life with him in New Orleans.
"I love you Delilah... Since the first day I saw you," were Nael's words, confirming all my feelings for him.
"Yes, one of many. What else do you remember, Delilah?" Nael asked, looking at me with interest.
I had to swallow hard and process all the memories that were exploding like fireworks in my head.
Nael knelt down in front of me and looked at me with concern. "Delilah?" he whispered softly. His worried look brought tears to my eyes.
It was sweet, sad, beautiful and everything at the same time. I was touched by the way he had tried to comfort me and jumped into his arms.
"Nael..." I whispered softly as I cried and buried my head against his chest.
"Delilah?" Nael asked worriedly again and hugged me so tightly that I could hear his heart beating.
"Damn it, Delilah, say something, you're scaring me," Nael whispered as he lifted my chin and forced me to look him in the eye.
I shook my head and sobbed quietly, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you Nael, but I think I remember most of it," I said looking into his beautiful eyes.
I saw his pupils dilate briefly and he took my face in his hands.
"Tell me what exactly you remember, Delilah..." Nael prompted me.
"Well, almost everything," I replied quietly, my cheeks reddening with embarrassment as I thought about our day together at Hamilton.
"I've never done that before, at least not with you... Can I pry into your mind, Delilah?" he asked me uncertainly and I nodded immediately.
"I want to find out what's missing to fill in the gaps in your memory... I just want to help you," Nael tried to explain himself.
I nodded again and pressed my lips to his. I was overcome with longing and longed to pull him close to me.
My instincts told me that I missed him, all the tenderness, the patience he had with me... He was incredible.
Nael returned the kiss, still holding my face as he buried his fingers in my hair and slowly pulled away from my kiss.
He involuntarily bit his lower lip and smiled in surprise.
"I thought... I was almost afraid of losing you," he said, stroking my cheek with his thumb.
He laughed softly and shook his head, "Damn, Delilah... Do you know what you did to me? Please don't ever do that again, no matter who gets killed... Please..." he suddenly begged me.
I looked at him confused "Wh-what exactly did I do..." I asked him uncertainly, trying to remember, but again I was faced with a gap that needed to be filled.
"You're a Nephilim, Delilah... Partly you're an angel too, only you could never know that. Most Nephilim don't know. You have supernatural powers... And every time it costs you a lot of strength. It comes when you are in distress and panic," Nael explained to me and I tried to follow him.
"How can that be?" I asked him quietly.
"Your mum..." he almost whispered and looked me in the eye.
My mum... They always said she was missing, dead...
I tried to process this information and, as Nael had told me to do, I tried not to panic.
"It's all right Delilah... There are no consequences, except that it will drain your strength. That's why you should use it as little as possible..."
He smiled at me and sat back down in his chair.
"When we wanted to go to Ragnol, the warlock... That's when we messed with the vampires, which is why you and Ryan tried to free Ragnol."
"Ryan... Ryan..." I kept mumbling, trying to remember the name.
"The hotel... He owned it, he was the owner who came running when we arrived... The big bad wolf, the life mate of Catherine, Ilay's partner..." Nael tried to help me get my head round it.
"Can we talk in private? Delilah, please wait in the lobby, we'll be right back," Nael said to me, and I went into the lobby to wait as instructed.
Suddenly I nodded and remembered Ryan: "Yes... I think I know who you're talking about, I went to the lobby while you were talking... right?" I asked him, to which Nael nodded.
"Right... Delilah, you'll be fine, I have no doubt about that," he said, suddenly hugging me again as he lifted me up and swung me in the air.
I laughed and wrapped my arms around his neck "I'm about to fall," I said laughing and trying to hold on to him.
He grabbed my bum as I wrapped my legs around his waist and looked him in the eye.
He shook his head and looked at me, "I'll never leave you, Delilah.... I promise. Promise," Nael said and pressed a tender kiss to my lips, which I returned. His kiss intensified and our tongues played with each other.
"It's only been a day, but I've missed kissing you," he whispered softly under the kiss, which made me smile.
The demon who had served us was gone and we were all alone on this island.
Nael laid me down on the tall grass and leant over me.
My heart beat wildly at the sight of him and I wanted to pull him close and never let go.
"I love you Delilah... Be my forever..." he caressed my lips as he looked into my eyes.
"I love you too Nael, forever."
His soft lips rested on mine again and he kissed me tenderly while his hands rested on my waist
His lips travelled down to my neck as he kissed me several times and even sucked on my skin hard enough to create a hickey "That's where I'm going to mark you," he whispered in my ear, biting gently at the spot but not leaving a mark.
I moaned softly and buried my fingers in his hair "Do it," I gasped softly and wrapped my legs around his waist. We were outside, surrounded by darkness, the only light we had left were the little fireflies and the candles we had lit.
Nael slid his hands under my top and travelled up to my breasts as he continued to stroke my neck.
He pulled the top over my head while I took his shirt off.
I felt the grass on my back, it was a slight tingling sensation, but it didn't bother me. This moment seemed perfect, here with Nael.
Like a little wild cat, I turned round with Nael so that he was lying underneath me and kissed him on the lips again. He put his hands on my bum and pinched me gently.
"Not this time, kitten, we don't want you to pass out," Nael said, turning us round again. "You stay nice and low..." he whispered, capturing my lips as he pushed himself between my legs.
Oh yes, I remembered that Nael Edevane could be quite bossy in bed.
