"Kaia, please come join us!" Father pats the seat next to him as Freya walks in with a tray of drinks. She had been amazing in the efforts in tidying up and had spent most of her time in the hospital. In fact this was the first time I had seen her in days. She had been assigned a house to herself, giving her space as Alora stayed here.
But she was looking tired, she had been blocking out her mate bond, something that wasn't suggested for long periods of time. What she was doing was for Alora, I just hoped Zane would understand when they were reunited.
"What's going on?" I question as I take a drink and sit next to Father, looking at everybody else's expressions.

I listen to their conversation as if I were not even present, spying somehow as a fly on the wall. My eyes look to Alora who seems just as shocked as me by this turn of events.
"Speak up, say something!" I mind-link her. I can't believe Hector would side with Father on this, the 1 person I at least expected to disagree. Yet he had already been having private discussions, making arrangements to visit Alpha Marc in my place.
"I told you I didn't want this." She quietly speaks up against Father and the Doctor.
