Chapter 0111
Alora POV
Things were progressing quickly. Kaia is cautioning me in what I decide on the side, but not in front of Beckett
I'm not sure what to do but I haven't got the heart to tell him I am not sure.
Even now, he is planning a pack party to announce me as a new pack member, as his daughter. But what would that mean for Than and me?
Can I get word to him somehow of what is going to happen. the snap of the pack bond...he might think I have died.
With me not being marked by him he might not feel the connection between us, I can't... the strength of my wolf is reducing every day and I'm struggling to feel the mate connection day by day.
Kaia and Beckett were exceptionally close, they knew each other's movements and thoughts before even talking or moving.
I've sat in on a few warrior meetings and she's exquisite to watch, and I find myself unable to match her Luna abilities. Why didn't Than give her a chance, or Hector for that matter..she was a born leader, a born Luna.
But something nagged at me, something Beckett said in a recent meeting. That she wasn't to join the training sessions and that Samson was to lead them.
She protested, claiming she needed to train and what better way than doing it with the ones defending the pack...but Beckett was adamant.
She was only to train in the parameters of the alpha house's gardens, and only Samson and himself was to be present. Even me, he didn't want me present for some reason.
He was w
He was very possessive of Kala...
I can see now why she hasn't told him things. He was very protective of her, and I understood why he thought he has lost me. He thought he had lost a child already, he didn't want to lose another one.
Part of me wants to accept the Nightshade Reformed pack-link, to feel closer to Kala. I think the only way we can work on our bond as sisters is to share the same pack-link.
Something we have never done in our lives. But I can't deny a level of worry of what it would mean to the Amber Desert Pack....to Than.
"Alora, you can take longer. there's no rush.."
"1 want to sort this out as soon as possible Kaia. The security of the pack depends on it." Beckett interrupts Kala's kindness towards me. She was being very gentle with me, taking time to make sure I was taking things slowly. Set things at my own pace. "How so?" I question.
"I can't feel you through the bond, I won't be able to think in threatening situations. I'll worry of where you are, which will impact the safety of the pack. I might make a bad decision in the heat of the moment,

worried about you
He was right, I was endangering the pack by not being a fully initiated pack member. Beckett needed to feel me through the pack-link.
"What if my mate..."
"Look sweetheart, I'm not going to pry and when you are ready to tell me I will listen but I'm not a fool. You have a mate but aren't with him, which means you left for a reason.." "Yes to find Kaia..."
"And when he comes for you, and when he marks you. You will leave, if that is mate bond.

But for right now, you not being a pack member and as my daughter it puts us in a really dangerous situation. What if we are attacked....yes, I need to see your defence moves. I'll get Samson to train you privately before Kala every day." He changes his thought process completely half way through the sentence leaving me spinning, trying to catch up.
My mind was becoming more foggy, but he moved at such a fast speed..sometimes I was left behind and Kala would explain it to me later at bedtime so I knew what was happening.
"I don't think that is wise..." Kaia interjects.
"Why?" Beckett's eyes dart to hers. She keeps speaking for me, keeps trying to protect me...I need to be more vocal around them.
"Because my wolf is too weak to train...I haven't shifted in a long time...I don't think she can shift anymore."
His eyes glaze over into a mind-link, an authoritative aura rushing off him.
It doesn't take long before the pack doctor rushes through the office door, summoned from the medical centre as Kaia and I sit in silence with Beckett in his office.
Samson is another funny one, he is also very protective of Kaia and I keep questioning to myself why.
It's not like he was her mate, I know that, as does she. From what she says they grew up together and were close friends. The pack was attacked when he was away training to be a beta. But something still didn't sit well with me. "Alpha?" The poor doctor burst through the door instantly submitting his neck under Beckett's powerful command, clutching a file in his hand.
"Alora is hesitant to take on the pack bond, now tell me what you found out of her results. I'm keen for her ceremony to happen within the next 24 hours, so tell me only good news Doctor."
The doctor has the floor but I know, as does he, he doesn't have good news.
"Well, actually Alpha....I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news..."
"Excuse me?" A rumble leaves Beckett's chest.
"I've run test after test, looked for a range of remedies but unfortunately the results are the same."

"Which are?"
"Alora's organ failure is too great, all we can do is make her comfortable..." Both Kaia and I look to each other, we both have heard this plenty of times. Whereas Beckett's face is frozen before he looks to Kala with anger. "You knew this?"
"Yes Father..."
"Why didn't you tell me."
"I tried to..."
"You will be intitated this evening. Samson start the preparations."
"Father..." Kaia bites back.
"You've withheld information from me, information about your own sister. I'm disappointed in you Kaia." How could he say that to her, why hasn't she told him what she has been through. He wouldn't be saying that if he knew. An overwhelming need to protest her takes over me and I raise my own voice.
"It's not her fault, please...Kaia has been through enough...this is my fault. I did this to myself..."
"What do you mean?" The doctor turns to me his eyebrows furrowing.
"I drank wolfsbane at 16, my dying kidneys are a result of my actions. Nobody else's...especially not Kaia!" Ebony Woods
