Defeating My Ex-Husband by Tracy Estrada ( Colton Zeller )

Chapter 89

Chapter 89 Your Fate Is Sealed

Outside the oneway window of the interrogation room, Wallace Quimby, who was in charge. of the case, introduced the situation to Cynthia in a deep voice, “After the suspect was apprehended, her mental state remained unstable. Not only did she refuse to cooperate with our interrogation, but she also kept muttering your name and Mr. Zabielski’s…”

Cynthia looked at Lynda in the interrogation room. The latter’s face was pale and her appearance was disheveled. She felt not an ounce of sympathy for her.

I suspect’she’s not only involved in this kidnapping case, but she also abducted and abused Fergus.” Cynthia relayed everything Lynda had previously said in the warehouse to Wallace, whose expression immediately turned serious.

“We will investigate this matter,” Wallace earnestly promised. “However, judging by her series of actions, she doesn’t seem like a first–time offender. Right, we did indeed unearth a large amount of explosives beneath that warehouse.” Wallace’s voice suddenly turned cold. “If those explosives were to detonate, it wouldn’t just be the warehouse that would be affected, but everything within a radius of a kilometer as well.”

Beads of cold sweat trickled down Cynthia’s back.

She had always thought that the bombs Lynda mentioned were nothing more than empty threats to scare them. She never imagined they were real.

“But aren’t these things regulated in the country? How did she…”

Wallace shook his head. “We still need to investigate the specifics of the situation.”

Cynthia nodded thoughtfully.

Just at that moment, Yoel also arrived. Upon seeing Wallace, he informed him of all the events that had transpired over the past few days.

Back in the day, Yoel had broken up with her due to her excessive need for control. Lynda, unable to accept this, repeatedly harassed Yoel. To make Lynda give up, Yoel quickly started dating a new woman, who was none other than Ruby.

Initially, Lynda was relentless in her pursuit, refusing to back down. However, Yoel eventually

peace. took action and had her deported, finally restoring a much–needed sense of

Later on, he too parted ways with Ruby. He never imagined that Ruby would secretly bear his child and pass away so soon!

Yocl’s tone was somber. He hadn’t–anticipated that things would escalate to this point.

Wallace seemed lost in thought.

Just at that moment, the officer in charge of the interrogation emerged, looking troubled as he turned to Wallace. “The suspect refuses to confess to anything. She keeps insisting on seeing Ms. Shelley.”

“She wants to see me?”

Cynthia furrowed her brows.

She didn’t think that she and Lynda had anything in common to talk about. The latter would only talk nonsense.

“Feel free to stay out if you’re uncomfortable,” Wallace said. “Even if she doesn’t utter a single word, we have more than enough evidence…”

Yoel frowned as well when he heard that. There were a multitude of eyewitnesses at the scene, and moreover, every piece of the kidnapping equipment bore the fingerprints Lynda had left behind.

After some thought, Cynthia decided to go

Having secured the consent of Wallace, she swiftly swung open the door to the interrogation

room.

Lynda, who initially seemed lost in her own emotions, revealed a cryptic smile as she saw Cynthia approach. “You think locking me up in a police station is the end? No, this is just the beginning.”

Cynthia tapped her fingers thoughtfully on the table, a cold smirk playing on her lips. “I can’t say for certain if I’ll run into more trouble in the future, but your fate is sealed.”

Lynda’s expression gradually twisted. Her gaze was filled with malice as she stared at Cynthia. What about me? No matter how much I did for him, he always turned a blind eye. He even turned against me for a woman like you, saying I could never become Mrs. Zabielski! One day, you’ll end up just like me! When that time comes, I’ll be cheering for you!”

After uttering those words, Lynda fainted.

“Take her to the hospital for a check–up,” Wallace instructed two policemen to assist Lynda.

Cynthia sat tensely in her chair, her brows furrowed in deep thought. If before she had only been speculating, now she was almost certain. There was definitely someone else behind Lynda, someone who harbored an unusual animosity toward her.

Having observed everything from outside, Yoel quickly stepped forward to support Cynthia. “Don’t listen to her nonsense! If anything happens, I’ll definitely have your back!”

After witnessing Lynda’s breakdown at the police station, Cynthia returned to the hospital.

At that time, Lukas and Luna had yet to wake up. Flora and Braxton stood vigil by their bedside, seething with indignation. “How could anyone harm such young children? To call her a heartless woman is an understatement! We must find a way to ensure she receives a severe punishment.”

When Cynthia thought of Lynda, a chill surfaced in her eyes.

She wasn’t sure whether Lynda’s current mental state was genuine or feigned, but regardless, she wouldn’t allow her the slightest chance of escape. “I’ve already had our corporate legal department take over this case.”

“The legal department of Zeller Group is also handling this case.

Before anyone realized it, Colton had made his way over, trailed by four bodyguards and a caregiver.

Braxton and Flora looked at Cynthia with concern. Only after receiving her reassuring gaze did they silently return to the ward.

A shiver ran down Cynthia’s spine when she took in the grand spectacle of Colton’s entrance.

He pulled out a document and tossed it onto the table in front of Cynthia, his “Explain yourself.”

gaze serious.

Upon seeing the paternity test results indicating a ninety–nine percent match on the document, Cynthia, who was anxious, finally relaxed.
