Chapter 81 Nonmatch

In response to Timothy’s report, Colton gently grunted in acknowledgment.

He had known long ago that if he were to make a move personally, he wouldn’t be able to obrain any samples. That was why he resorted to a diversionary tactic, luring Cynthia away.

“The DNA test will take three days. I will have Mr. Collings inform you of the results as soon as they are available.”

Colton responded to Timothy with a noncommittal grunt

When he arrived home, Elsa greeted him with her usual enthusiasm. “Colt, another advertiser contacted me for a quote today! This proves that all my hard work hasn’t been in vain!

She had long since known that netizens were forgetful, and the daily onslaught of entertainment gossip news had long since buried her scandal.

As long as she had various paid social media accounts publish articles to clear her name daily, the netizens would soon put her matter at the back of their mind.

Colton nodded. “I’m glad to hear that.”

Elsa’s smile abruptly froze. “Are you in a bad mood?”

Colton massaged his temples, the scene of Lukas and Luna confronting him at the hospital. suddenly flashing across his mind. The memory only served to deepen his sense of frustration.

His feelings toward the two children were incredibly complex.

Never in his wildest dreams had he ever imagined that he would one day suspect Cynthia of secretly keeping his child.

He had never been fond of children. Whenever he encountered boisterous kids, he usually avoided them like the plague.

But after seeing Lukas and Luna, an odd sense of familiarity flooded him, making him suddenly realize that it wouldn’t be so bad if they were his children.

Regardless of whatever had transpired between him and Cynthia in the past, he would never allow his children to be away from him.

“Colt?”

Noticing that Colton seemed lost in thought while standing before her, Elsa furtively bit her lower lip.

Go ahead and eat first,” Colton said, massaging his temples again. After saying that, he promptly turned around and disappeared into his study.

Elsa watched his retreating figure with a gloomy look in her eyes. She looked for a paparazzo she knew in her contacts and called to him.

Colton had no idea that Elsa secretly had him followed. Three days later, he received the paternity test report from Timothy.

As he looked at the word “Nonmatch” printed on the report, his expression darkened once more. “Are you certain the results are accurate?”

Every single detail matched perfectly. How could those two kids possibly not be my children?

“Ms. Shelley, I have already changed the sample as per your request.”

Late at night, Cynthia received a call from Arthur. A flicker of concern flashed. past “Are you certain the medical report has been delivered to Colton? He didn’t suspect anything?”

her eyes.

“Rest assured that I’ve handled everything with the utmost discretion. There’s no chance anyone will find out,” Arthur pledged solemnly.

Cynthia was still half–skeptical, but as agreed, she had Marcus deliver a sum of money to Arthur. Subsequently, she destroyed the phone cards they once used to communicate.

Early the following morning, Cynthia’s car had barely left the residential area when a Maybach suddenly charged over from across the road and blocked her path audaciously.

Slamming the brakes, she glared at Colton, her gaze a mix of fear and anger. “Have you lost your mind?”

Colton stepped out of his car. Standing by her car door, he looked down at her. “Let’s talk.”

His aura was intimidating. Even though he was merely standing there expressionlessly, he gave off an intense sense of pressure.

Gripping the steering wheel tightly, Cynthia turned him down without a second thought. “There’s nothing to talk about between us.”

“Is that so?” Colton’s dark gaze fell on Cynthia’s face. You should know that I’ve never been a nice man.”

The vehicles behind Cynthia were all stuck. Clueless as to the cause, all the drivers honked

Seeing that they were about to cause a traffic jam, but Colton remained utterly unmoved, Cynthia gritted her teeth in frustration and swung the car door open.

She glared at the man, her anger palpable. “What on earth do

Colton pulled open the car door. The driver in the car took the keys quietly to the side.
