Defeating My Ex-Husband by Tracy Estrada ( Colton Zeller )

Chapter 68

Chapter 68 The Kids Know

With a gloomy expression, Colton returned to his mansion, where he was greeted by the lightly dressed Elsa, “Colt, I’ve specially prepared a whole table of dishes just for you…”

Colton said nonchalantly, “I’ve already eaten. There’s no need to trouble yourself.”

you still The smile on Elsa’s face froze instantly, her eyes welling up with tears. “Colt, have not forgiven me?” she asked, her voice choked with emotion. “Why do you keep pushing me away?”

As he looked at Elsa’s tearful visage, an unexplainable image of Cynthia defiantly glaring at him surfaced in Colton’s mind.

He momentarily lost himself, which Elsa took as a silent agreement.

Taking a deep breath, Elsa made concessions in order to gain advantages. “If that’s the case, then I…”

Colton raised an eyebrow.

A sudden wave of panic surged through Elsa. At that moment, she believed that if she uttered those two words, Colton would immediately agree.

The words she had intended to make concessions in order to gain advantages were swallowed back down. With a deep affection in her gaze, Elsa looked at Colton and said, “I know I’ve made many mistakes in the past. All I ask is for a chance to love you properly.”

Colton didn’t voice any objections. He simply inquired about the matters related to the engagement banquet.

This signified that he had forgiven her.

A wave of joy washed over Elsa, and she quickly responded, “I’ve looked at quite a few styles of formal dresses, and even the banquet decorations…”

“Do as you please,” Colton said nonchalantly before heading upstairs.

No matter how aloof his demeanor was, as long as he acknowledged her as his future wife, Elsa wasn’t afraid she wouldn’t have the chance to rise again.

Before long, news of Colton’s engagement banquet had spread throughout their social circle. Many people, both openly and behind closed doors, were mocking Cynthia. Even if she had severed ties with the Beckman family, what did it matter? Isn’t she still the ex–wife whom Colton has abandoned?

Upon hearing these rumors, Yoel Immediately called Cynthia and asked, “Would you accompany me to the engagement banquet at the Zeller residence?”

Cynthia understood what those words meant. “So, you’ve heard those gossips too?”

Yoel was instantly filled with rage. “So, those words have reached you as well?he asked.

Cynthia denied it by saying, “That’s not the case, but it’s always been this way in the past, nothing out of the ordinary.”

Back when she was still Colton’s wife, she was practically forced to witness all the sweet, intimate moments between Colton and Elsa. All credit for this went to those people.

Confronted with Yoel’s fury, she could even manage a nonchalant smile. “Since you’re so angry, would it be too much to ask you to be my escort?”

The anger that had consumed Yoel dissipated instantly. “No! I’d be more than happy.”

After hanging up the phone, Cynthia saw Lukas and Luna hesitating at the door.

“What’s the matter?” Cynthia asked, looking puzzled at the Lukas and Luna. Luna, hesitant and slow, finally stepped forward. “Mommy, can we also go to the banquet with you?”

Cynthia was suddenly taken aback.

She hesitated, wondering how to delicately explain to the two children that the protagonist of this engagement was Colton. However, to her surprise, Luna had already waved her hand. dismissively. “We already know everything. We just want to go see!”

“Um…” Cynthia was at a loss for words for a moment. Lukas, who was standing by her side, uttered, “Mommy, you don’t need to explain. We already know. It’s his right to start a new family with someone else. Luna and I don’t mind at all.”

“Why are you…” Cynthia was taken aback. She didn’t expect the two children to have such a mindset.

In truth, if it weren’t for her fear of Colton contesting custody, she wouldn’t have cared whether the two children acknowledged Colton as their father. After all, no matter how her relationship with Colton changed, the bond between them would always remain unaltered.

After some thought, she earnestly advised the two children, “If you want to you ought to remember one thing. Under no circumstances should you reveal your true

go, then go. But identities.”

Luna and Lukas exchanged a glance, then, filled with joy, they threw themselves into Cynthia’s arms, exclaiming, “Mommy is the best!”

In the blink of an eye, the day of the banquet had arrived.

Although she didn’t particularly care for Elsa, Cynthia had no intention of causing any trouble on this day. She simply chose to wear a misty blue, simply cut long dress, complemented with a sapphire necklace. She looked both noble and impressive.
