Defeating My Ex-Husband by Tracy Estrada ( Colton Zeller )

Chapter 66

earing her utter the word ‘fiancé‘ in front of him, the anger that had been simmering since be found out the children were Yoel’s, then surged even more. Finally, it erupted.

He reached out, gripping Cynthia’s chin tightly. “Do you really think I wouldn’t dare to touch you

Their gazes intertwined, a silent battle of emotions. A flicker of thought passed through Colton’s mind, and he leaned in, pressing a gentle kiss onto her lips.

Cynthia couldn’t possibly let him have his way with her again.

She raised her hand to strike Colton with all her might, but he effortlessly caught her hand mid–air.

He sneered, “It seems my leniency has been excessive, leading you to believe you can provoke me repeatedly.”

Cynthia also let out a cold laugh. Before Colton could realize something was amiss, she had. already kicked him in the knee.

After feeling a pang of pain, Colton took a step back. Seizing the opportunity, Cynthia quickly escaped from her chair and positioned herself at the other end of the office.

“I won’t make the same mistake twice, and that goes for men too,” Cynthia said arrogantly, looking at him. “If I remember correctly, you’re about to be engaged, aren’t you, Mr. Zeller? Why bother seeking out your ex–wife? Or are you trying to tell me that just as your delicate fiancée is pregnant and your

your engagement banquet is imminent, you’ve realized that I’m true love, even to the point of giving up on Elsa?”

The expression on Colton’s face instantly turned extremely gloomy.

He held onto Cynthia’s wrist tightly, pulling her in front of him. “Fall in love with you? Are you out of your mind? Francesca, don’t forget, you insisted on marrying me, and you left without a word, proposing divorce. But remember, you’ve never been the one calling the shots between us.”

His world had always been under his control, so he wouldn’t let her come and go as she pleased.

The disparity in strength between men and women left Cynthia unable to break free. She had no choice but to soften her tone. “Colton, I’ve already had another man’s children, and you’re about to be engaged. Can’t you let me go?”

“Let you go?” Colton

should I let you go??

Just as Cynthia thought he would forcefully kiss her like the last time, he slowly straightened up instead.

Colton leisurely released Cynthia, his voice calm and steady. “Cynthia, you can’t marry anyone until I give my permission.”

His slightly cool fingers brushed against the back of Cynthia’s neck, sending a shiver down her spine.

After a light chuckle, Colton decisively swung open the office door and strode out.

It was only at this moment that Cynthia, with a grave expression, finally settled back into her

chair.

Upon seeing Colton leave, Marcus quickly entered. Noticing that Cynthia’s complexion didn’t look too good, he asked, “Are you all right?”

Cynthia nodded. “I’m fine.”

She just hadn’t expected that Colton would say those words to her.

At that very moment, Yoel also came looking for Cynthia. Seeing that both she and Marcus. looked rather upset, he immediately asked with a puzzled expression, “What’s going on? Surely Fashn Group isn’t on the verge of bankruptcy, is it?”

Hesitantly, Marcus cast a glance at Cynthia. Cynthia, with a wave of her hand, signaled for him to leave first.

“What’s going on?”

Noticing that Cynthia’s–expression was off, Yoel quickly pressed for answers.

Cynthia did not repeat Colton’s words verbatim. She simply mentioned that Colton was extremely upset upon learning that the children were Yoel’s, and had come to confront her.

Yoel’s face instantly turned grim when he heard that. With furrowed brows, he asked. Cynthia, “Are you all right? Did Colton do anything to you?”

Cynthia was at a loss whether to laugh or cry. She shook her head, “I’m fine. You don’t need to worry. He just came to question me about Lukas and Luna. I insisted that they were your children, and then he left.”

Yoel’s face was clouded with seriousness. “Colton is not someone who can be easily fooled. He will undoubtedly take further action.”

With a fierce punch, he slammed onto the table. The more Yoel thought about it, the angrier he became. “He’s already engaged. What right does he have to question you? Does he want to play the same old games?”

In the beginning, Francesca was renowned throughout the upper echelons of society, and everyone knew about her deep–seated affection for Colton. There were even many who openly and covertly mocked her.
