Defeating My Ex-Husband by Tracy Estrada ( Colton Zeller )

Chapter 10

Chapter 10 What Are You Doing Here

Timothy hurried over upon realizing that both Colton and Francesca had disappeared. He swallowed nervously when he saw Colton standing in the dark corridor with a gloomy expression.

OkayMaybe this is not a good time to approach Mr. Zeller…

Before he could even step away, however, Colton called out to him in a deep voice. “Go investigate the bank account of the maid who served at this mansion five years ago. Also, find out if anyone else entered or left the mansion that day.”

Colton didn’t believe Francesca before, and he still didn’t believe her now.

Although Francesca kept insisting that she had nothing to do with that incident, he was determined to make her admit to it.

As soon as Francesca stepped away from the corridor, she saw Marcus, who had come looking for her. “There you are, Ms. Shelley!” he exclaimed with a surprised and delighted expression.

Marcus froze in surprise when he looked up and saw Colton, who was standing behind Francesca. “Mr. Zeller? I think Old Mr. Zeller was looking for you…

Colton didn’t hear how Marcus had addressed Francesca, but he found it odd that he was particularly friendly toward her.

He furrowed his brows slightly and simply shot Francesca a cold glance without saying anything.

Marcus was quick to notice that something was off between the two. “Are you okay?” he asked hesitantly after a brief pause.

Francesca shook her head and replied with a cold expression, “I’m fine.”

She then walked away briskly while Marcus followed closely behind her.

As Francesca stepped into the hall, she heard an elderly man’s voice calling out to her, “Fran?”

Phillip had always been kind to Francesca, and she held him in high regard as well. Francesca shifted her gaze past the tall, handsome man in the corridor and greeted Phillip with a smile. “Hello, Old Mr. Zeller.”

Phillip’s expression turned gloomy instantly. “Why are you being so distant to me?”

Not wanting to upset Phillip in front of everyone, Francesca reluctantly greeted him again. “Grandpa.”

Feeling satisfied, Phillip took Francesca’s hand and said with a smile, “Come, tell me where you’ve been these past few years.”

The look in Colton’s eyes turned gloomy as he watched them walk away.

The people who attended the banquet were also quite surprised.

Old Mr. Zeller isn’t arrogant or anything, but he usually keeps his distance from people. Since when did he become so friendly? Isn’t Mr. Zeller supposed to be marrying that actress soon? Who is that woman? Where did she come from?

Right as Colton was about to walk up to them, someone called out to him. in a delicate voice from behind. “Colt?”

Elsa walked over and wrapped her arm around Colton’s as she asked affectionately, “Were you waiting here for me?”

She had specially ordered a custom strapless dress for the banquet, which made her look even more feminine and charming

Colton frowned slightly when he saw Elsa. “No, I wasn’t,” he replied coldly.

Elsa’s smile froze on her face as she didn’t expect Colton to be so straightforward. She was about to say something when she noticed at woman with a stunning figure closely following Phillip, causing her to immediately tense up with a sense of caution.

Meanwhile, Francesca was repeatedly refusing Phillip’s request for her to join him on stage. “Given my current status, it’s not appropriate for me to go on stage with you, Grandpa.”

This is the Zeller family’s birthday banquet! An exwife like myself has no business going on stage!

“What are you talking about? I’ve made it very clear before that I only acknowledge you as my granddaughter–in–law!” Phillip retorted angrily.

Phillip was the only one who treated Francesca kindly after she married into the Zeller family. “Colton and I have already gotten divorced. If I’m not mistaken, he should be married to Ms. Larson by now. As such, it wouldn’t be appropriate for me to go on stage with you,” Francesca said with a gentle smile.

“No, I’m not,” Colton explained instinctively as he walked up to them.

However, his deep voice was completely drowned out by Elsa’s high- pitched voice, so no one was able to hear him when Elsa exclaimed in disbelief, “What are you doing here?”
