I looked out the car window, my face set in a scowl as I couldn't shake off this shitty mood I was in.

I'm officially that guy..the one who is f*****g obsessed with his girl and can't go more than an hour without her. I don't know when exactly it happened..maybe it was after the threatening call from my dad but I actually feel anxious being away from her. "Do you think coach is going to flip his s**t when he finds out?"

"Dude..are you even listening?" Moose asked before shoving my arm as I just grunted.

"You've got it bad.." He laughed while shaking his head in disbelief.

"Anna is right, that girl must have some unicorn p***y for you to be.."

"Hey, shut the f**k up..don't talk about my wife's pussy..jeez..Anna is a bad influence on you.." I grumbled, feeling pissed off now.

"Yeah..she is.." Moose said all dreamy like, making me roll my eyes. Gross..

"So this thing is pretty serious then?" I asked him, knowing the answer already since Anna and Milo are all he talks about. Who would've guessed that two of my best friends would be in a relationship with the same girl..and actually enjoy it. "Well, like I was saying..do you think coach might be pissed?" He stated, his eyes darting towards me as I sat up a little. "Probably..especially since you aren't just dating one person." I laughed, making Moose frown.

"Hey, don't worry about it. Just prove yourself in the rink and it won't even matter. I had to tell him about Johnnie because we are married."

It's true..if Johnnie and I were just dating I probably wouldn't have said s**t because it would just add more pressure. I know for a fact that the coach will be watching me like a hawk this season.

"So unless you plan on proposing." I joked, making Moose smile as he just shook his head before turning left.

We were on our way to the apartment so I could start packing up some of our stuff since Johnnie and I wouldn't be living there. Moose suggested it considering I planned on just moping around the house all day until my wife got home. I guess this is better than that at least..

I glanced down at my phone just as I got a text, making me sigh.

From PuckHeads: Yo, Party for Kai's birthday this Saturday at Brett's. Everyone better f*****g be there! I'm talking about you lover boy..you can bring your wife.

I read the message from one of the guys in our group chat as I frowned, watching the responses began to flood the

screen.

"What is it? You look like you want to punch something. " Moose asked while trying to peer over at my phone.

"Guess they are having a party for Kai on Saturday at Brett's place." I muttered while opening my chat with Johnnie now and sending her ten heart emojis and then a sad face one at the end, telling her I missed her.

"Oh f**k, I forgot about that. I already invited Anna and Milo." He said while I waited for Johnnie to respond. Maybe she already went into the movie.

"Nice, well I'm not f*****g going." I quipped, causing Moose to glance over at me.

"Why the hell not? We always celebrate our birthdays together." He said, making me look at him pointedly.

"Well, the past two years anyway." He added.

"I just don't want to deal with Brett's s**t. I know he will try pissing me off the whole night..it's not worth it."

Finally I received a text back from my wife, making my heart race as I opened it. She sent me a picture of her sitting beside her dad and Ben and then a whole bunch of hearts and kissy-face emojis.

To Wifey: You look so f*****g gorgeous right now..there better not be guys hitting on you

I half teased but really meant it.

"Dude, there is no f*****g way he would do that s**t again. Besides, Anna and Milo will be there too. You know Anna would totally kick Brett's ass if he said anything to Johnnie." He added as I read Johnnie's next text.

From Wifey: What guys? You're the only one I see..in fact, I can't stop thinking about earlier in the shower when you pinned me up against the..

"Dude? Seriously..you have to go. You know Kai looks up to you..he would be f*****g devastated." Moose interrupted as I tried to hide the boner I was now sporting.

"Fine, I will talk to Johnnie about it.." I conceded, knowing he was right..I needed to go for my teammates but I was feeling apprehensive because of Brett.

I just know for a fact that he would start some type of s**t because he thinks I c**k blocked him from asking Johnnie out. Which if he was really into her..he could've..would I have beat his a*s? Most definitely..but hey, it would've shown he meant it.

We got to the apartment not too long after and got straight to work. Moose helped me box some things up while we just chatted about the upcoming season and how we had to start hitting the gym again soon.

We finished in two hours and I knew Johnnie probably wouldn't be home in another two so Moose said we should go down to the diner not too far away to get some food.

It's crazy how much has changed in just a few months.

I used to go to this place every weekend with my friends as they nursed their hangovers and tried to pick up girls.

So I wasn't surprised to see a few of the guys from the team walk in but who I saw with them was what threw me off.

"Thanks for showing us around. We just wanted to get familiar with the campus before the school year starts." Heaven..yeah..that f*****g Heaven said to Tristan, one of our right defensemen. "Yeah, no problem, any friend of Cas is a friend of ours." He smiled widely, obviously flirting with her.

So they didn't f*****g leave town? Seriously?

"Oh s**t, there's Caspian right there." Ryan, our other teammate stated while waving at us.

"Whose the chick?" Moose asked as they started to approach. I watched as she stiffened slightly, panic filling her gaze before she glanced towards Freddy who was standing beside her.

"That's Heaven." I stated firmly, making Moose's eyes widen as his mouth turned into an "o" shape.

"Damn, did you ever date a brunette in your life..jeez man." He grumbled, prompting me to kick him under the table as the guys approached.

"Hey dude, didn't know you guys would be here." Ryan said before sliding into the booth with Trisan following not too far after.

"We ran into your friends here. They asked us to show them around." Tristan informed us as my expression turned cold. "They're not my friends." I stated harshly, meaning every damn word..what type of s**t are they trying to pull now? "Oh..I thought.." Before Ryan could even speak Freddy interrupted him.

"Ah, I see how it is, my sister is good enough for you to f**k for three summers straight, but not good enough to call your friend." He stated with a smirk, making me grit my teeth together as the table went silent.

"Freddy, come on, let's just go." Heaven stated, those crocodile tears welling up in her eyes as I watched this performance they were putting on.

"No, I think Caspian needs to hear this."

"Listen, whatever the f**k you have to say..I'm not interested. I'm sorry if you thought whatever we had was something different Heaven, but it's in the past. You need to move on, and maybe stop letting your brother interfere with your s*x life..it's a little creepy." I added, glancing towards Freddy who seemed to be fuming now as Heaven tugged at his shirt. "Freddy..don't..not here." Heaven added, staring at her brother pleadingly as he glared at me.

"Be seeing you around Cas. Oh, and tell Johnnie I said hi." He added and I lost it..the mere fact that he said anything about my wife..even just that small phrase alone was enough to make me jump up and try to lunge at him. But of course the guys held me back, and I saw something in Freddy's eyes that I didn't like..not one f*****g bit..

This wasn't over..not by a long shot.
