Deceiving My Bully Stepbrother

Chapter 70

(Viva)

I slammed my phone down, my jaw clenching as anger pulsed through me...things were getting completely out of control.

Dave was back now and I knew something was going on.. Henry suggested I hire a private investigator to have him watched for now and I was informed earlier that Alder met with his father.

I quickly called my son and confronted him..then I heard about his "plan" and now he would help the entire family. I couldn't believe my ears..I swear these boys of mine will be the death of me. "Mom, if I do this, then Dad won't cut Caspian out and we can move on from this." He said, making me scoff.

"Son, you are not marrying that woman. I am going to handle this okay? So I want you to text your father right now and tell him the deal is off..I'm ending this today and that's final." Those were my parting words before I hung up the phone. How could Alder fall right into his dad's trap like that? I understand he is still their father..but Alder should know better.

After getting the DNA test back a few days ago, it was confirmed that Ben is Dave's. Since he matched with Alder, that has to be the only option because I know I didn't give birth to him..

Now we are just gathering evidence and since the whole Neal situation started to unfold, I am about to lose it.

If Neal really is alive...then why the hell did he disappear all of those years ago?

I stood up before running my fingers through my thick brown hair..I have been dreading having to make this call..but I know it's time.

This is the only way to stop Dave once and for all.

I pulled up my dad's contact information and hit the green call button before closing my eyes and pressing the phone to my ear.

Walt Alvarez was a man not to be crossed..he has grown to hate Dave over the years and even threatened to destroy him after I told him about the divorce..but I didn't want to do that to the kids. Many paragraphs are missing. Read the complete book on J o=b n-lb. c (o) m. Little did I know Dave truly was the piece of s**t my dad called him..if I had known what he did to my Cassy..I would've left him first and let my father burn him at the stake.

I felt horrible..like I failed my own children..but now for the first time in a long time, Caspian seems truly happy. Johnnie is his whole world and I can't believe my son is already married, but I couldn't have asked for a better daughter in law..no..she is more than that. Johnnie is family..

"Mija, what do I owe the pleasure?" My dad's baritone voice filled the call, making me clear my throat.

"Papa, I need to ask you a favor." I got straight to the point, not wanting to drag this out.

My father was a ruthless man..but he did love me. He spoiled me rotten as a child and was almost too protective. Then once I found out what his profession entailed, I knew my father wasn't always a good man.

He was dangerous and powerful..and if you ever went against him, he would make sure you paid for it..sometimes with your life. He might not have killed anyone with his own bare hands..but they are not clean, that's for sure.

That's why I kept my distance..after my father and mother moved to New York, I made sure to slowly cut ties with them for the children's sake.

"What is it Mija? Have you gotten yourself into some trouble? Is it one of the boys?" He asked worriedly, the tone of his voice making my eyes widen with how concerned he sounded.

I know he would do anything for me and my boys, but he never showed his emotions like this so openly..but I also know if I let my father in, the boys could be in danger.

"It's Dave, he has been threatening the boys..you were right papa, I should've fought back harder with the divorce." I sighed before sitting on the couch and hanging my head forward.

I felt a thick silence fill the call as I sat there, waiting in anticipation of what he would say.

"After this is handled, I want one thing from you my daughter." He began, making my eyes snap open as I swallowed hard.

"I want you to come to New York..let me meet my Grandsons officially." He stated more softly than before which shocked

me.

"Papa, is everything okay? Your health..there is nothing wrong right?" I asked worriedly, feeling the guilt rise inside of me. "No..your Madre, she just misses you mija, we both do." He added as I nodded my head and felt tears welling up inside of

me.

"I miss you too papa. The boys and I..we will come." I agreed, knowing it was long overdue.

"Good, we will speak soon." And with that, my dad hung up as I felt those tears finally spilling over.

Maybe my father has changed over the years..one of my biggest fears is that he would try to get one of the boys to take over the family business..but luckily my brother is the one who is doing that.

We ahoukd be safe to go and have one visit..Walt Alvarez is one of the most powerful men in the country, so I know whatever he plans to do to Dave..it will be something that he can never come back from.

Suddenly my phone started to ring again, making me gasp as I glanced down at it swiftly. Henry..

"Hello?" I answered while standing and straightening out my dress.

"Are you home?" He asked urgently as I was about to say yes when the doorbell rang.

"Come answer the door." Henry ordered as I couldn't help but roll my eyes. Why was he so eager?

"Okay, jeez, I'm coming." I mumbled as I walked across the house before hanging up the phone and opening the door.

I have met up with Henry a couple of times, but usually we get so engrossed in the case with Dave, that we haven't spoken about anything else.

I did confide in him about Neal, and he told our private investigator about it, so he was going to look into it.

"You are not going to believe this." Henry stated the moment I opened the door and quickly rushed in.

"What? What's going on?" I asked curiously as he held some type of paper in his hands.

"This morning there was something sent to my desk..something that is going to bury Dave alive." He added as we made our way into my office.

That's when Henry slammed the papers down as I slowly bent over them, seeing dozens of texts and pictures from years and years ago.

"This is the proof we needed Viva..a phone was sent to my office, one containing texts, voice-mails and even pictures of Heather and Dave together for the past fifteen f*****g years, all archived in that thing. And guess who the number was under.." He asked me as I saw pictures of Heather kissing Dave and texts of them setting up meetings. "Who?" I asked absent-mindedly.

"Heather Turner. This must've been a second phone she had to communicate with Dave. It was pretty outdated and seemed like it hadn't been used in the past year or so."

"Yeah because she didn't need it anymore..not after the divorce." I mumbled to myself before scoffing.

"Do you know who could've sent it to you?" I asked, fanning through the dozens of pictures and texts that now covered my desk.

"No, but there was this note. Do you recognize the handwriting?" He asked as he handed me a small piece of paper. "Sorry it took so long to find it, this should be everything you need." That was all the note said, making my brow furrow as the handwriting seemed familiar. Then it clicked..

"This is Neal..he was the one who sent it. It has to be.." I rushed out before turning to Henry as I stared at him.

"Well, maybe it's a good thing we have him on our side. He still must be hiding for some reason, and I have a feeling it has to do with Dave." He said what I had been thinking this entire time..especially with what Alder told me. How Dave reacted when Alder asked him if he had any involvement in it.

"I'm sure we will find out soon enough..something tells me Dave King is about to have his whole world turned upside down..and I can't f*****g wait."
