[BK 2] Chapter 30
(Caspian)
I slid my hands into my pockets, my gaze locking onto that elevator screen as I watched the numbers
I couldn't f*****g wait for this.
er and higher.
The moment my mom called earlier this morning, I had a gut feeling it had to either be about Dave or Heather...and sure enough..it was.
How f*****g stupid could she be? Does she think we are that naive? I knew the second we left that dinner that Heather was going to do something drastic.
I expected she would probably keep showing up out of the blue or some shit..but this...this was desperation..and desperation makes people do crazy things..so now it's starting to get dangerous.
If this crazy ass woman can ram herself into a freaking tree, what could she do to my wife and child?
That's why I'm not going to let it get this far. This ends today..
I felt the elevator stop as the doors slowly opened and I stepped out. Mom had figured out where Heather was because Ben was on her emergency contact list. I called him on the way and told him not to come..because truthfully, he doesn't need this s**t either. Obviously Ben is a lot more level-headed when it comes to his mom..meaning he doesn't take her s** either..but this type of thing..it might just get under his skin.
Especially with what mom sent me in the text. Apparently, the accident might've damaged her spinal cord, making it so she could possibly lose mobility from the waist down. I mean..that's what she gets if she just did this for attention. Which I plan on finding out today if she did or not..
I turned the corner, seeing a male nurse walking my way as I quickly stopped him.
"Excuse me, I am looking for Heather King, I am her son." I f*****g hated relating myself to her in any way.but I obviously needed to lie about who I was a little..if they told her I was here, she would probably refuse to see me.
"Ah yes, your mother is in room 506, she has been expecting you." The man said, offering to lead me t
"Mrs. King, your son is here." He said softly, prompting a groaning sound to come from the room.
"Your mother is still pretty groggy from the anesthesia." He explained while pulling back a curtain.
he went to knock on the door.
Wow..she looked like s**t. I let my eyes wander up and down her bruised body. One eye was swollen sout and she seemed to be pretty out of it. That's what I thought until the nurse left the room.
"What are you doing here? I asked them to send for my children." She croaked, annoyance obviously filling her voice.
"Sorry Heather..you got me instead. Neither of them wanted to come." I explained cooly before walking around the bed to get a better look at her. "Sorry, your plan didn't work out the way you expected..you really have missed out on a lot these past three years..especially the part where your children realized they don't need you to be happy." I said, feeling a smile pulling at my lips as I truly had no pity for this
woman.
"How could you say that to me? Especially after I was just in an accident! You are a vile human being." She cried out, starting the crocodile tears.
"I think you and I both know this wasn't an accident Heather.." I quipped, seeing her one eye widen as she became speechless for a moment.
"Y-you..you can't prove that! A deer ran in front of my car!" She rushed out, trying to sit up slightly but ended up falling back and letting out a groan.
"That might've fooled Johnnie..but this s**t, it's just too coincidental..and I don't believe in coincidence..especially not where it concerns you and Dave." I stated, knowing by her reaction alone that it had to be planned.
"I mean..if you really wanted to make this believable..you could've said some car ran you off the road..one that you saw following you earlier..that way you could've stuck with the Dave wanting to kill you narrative." Boy..that pissed her off.
"You listen to me you ungrateful bastard..you have had nothing but an easy life. Your father has done everything for you..and now..now you are turning out even worse than him. You have already gotten some type of control over my daughter..what is it? Are you beating her? Is her life in danger because of your well-known temper?" I know she was trying to get a rise out of me..and f**k..that almost did it..
I imagined wrapping my hands around Heather's already fragile neck and squeezing it until something snapped..but I can't let her win. I can't let her see the effect it had on me and how badly I wanted to punish her for it.
"The only time I have ever hit my wife is when she begs me for it and is down on all fours waving her gorgeous ass in the air. You can try to spin this s**t on me being the villain..and okay Heather..I will be..I will be the guy that ruined your f*****g life..the man that stole your daughter from you and opened her eyes." I whispered before smiling widely, I could see her eyes widen at how crude I had been, but I don't give a shit..
"You are a disgusting pig. How could you talk about your own wife like that?" She spat, and I just looked her dead in the eye before responding.
"Because she is mine and only mine and we love each other more than anything in this world..so when you throw things around like me beating my wife..I am going to make sure to address that..I was just speaking the truth." I shrugged, loving how much that ruffled Heather's feathers. For someone who f****d her supposed best friend's husband for years and had an affair her entire marriage, she sure was a prude.
"So, I hope you realize that I'm not going to let Johnnie or Ben fall for this shit..you clearly did this on purpose Heather..and now you are going to have to live with that..without your kids' support." I said while sliding my hands into my pockets before going to walk towards the door. "You will never be able to prove I did this on purpose Caspian and eventually Johnnie will realize just how important having her mother in her life is..and that's when she will see you for the asshole you are. You have King blood in your veins..you will f**k this up eventually..and I'm sure it will be some other blonde who catches your attention and ends up in your bed. It's only a matter of time..your father was a serial cheater..I'm sure it will just come naturally to you." She hissed, causing that last piece of restraint I had left to snap as I walked back over towards her and bent down closer to her. I watched as she flinched, not expecting me to approach her.
"It's almost sad how much you believe that is true Heather..let's be real..the fact is that you couldn't keep my father's attention..even to this day he still tries calling my mother. Well, I can tell you for a fact that Johnnie is the only woman I will ever see..and we will prove our love for one another time and time again..." I said, lifting my hand up before placing it by her head and leaning down even more.
"And about not being able to prove you lied..I think you just gave me all the proof I needed." I whispered before pulling out my phone and showing Heather that I had been recording the conversation.
"W-what?! No..you..you can't do that! That is against the law..I could sue you." She rushed out and went to reach for my phone, causing her to fall out of bed and let out a scream..
"Okay Heather..see you in court when you can get to that. But I have a feeling the police might be keeping you busy for a while..especially after wasting their time and resources on all of this." I laughed before turning and leaving the room as heard Heather screaming her head off.
"Is everything alright?!" The nurse asked while rushing over.
"She seems to be having some type of psychotic break.. You might need to help her out." And with that, I left..
I have a feeling that karma might take care of Heather all on its own..guess we will just have to sit back and watch the show.
