Dear Ex-wife Marry Me

Chapter 33

Chapter 33
lan paused his document scanning, his brows furrowing as confusion flickered in his eyes,
Maureen smirked, “Didn’t Ryan even tell you‘
¡ you?”
She knew Ryan was somewhat afraid of lan, but she didn’t expect him to keep his girlfriend a secret from his cousin.
“That boy always claims he’s too busy for a girlfriend. If you appreciated that girl’s design, she must be alright, and she’s pretty
cute too.”
“You mean Penny?” lan furrowed his brows. Wasn’t she already married?
Maureen chuckled, “Exactly I’m actually quite pleased with Ryan’s choice of girlfriend this time. Since you’ll be working together,
do me a favor and don’t make her life difficult. She might just become part of the family.”
lan’s expression turned frosty. “Don’t worry, I’ll behave.”
Maureen departed, with lan accompanying her to his private elevator. Suddenly, she stopped as if remembering something. “Ian,
now that Ryan’s situation is sorted out, you should consider your own. We barely know this Ms. Penny feather; we don’t even
know what she looks like. But if your grandfather likes her, she must have some merits. Why not try spending some time with
her?”
“There’s no chance of anything happening.”
Knowing lan well, Maureen understood he was serious, so she put her sunglasses back on. “Take care of your health; don’t skip
meals all the time. Your stomach issues are becoming serious.”
A resigned look crossed lan’s face. “I know.”
After bidding farewell to Maureen, he returned to his office. Jeff arrived with a cup of coffee, witnessing lan’s icy expression and
couldn’t help but ask, “Trouble with Mr. Elston again?”
lan snorted, “Not exactly trouble. He’s just infatuated with a married woman.”

Jeff’s lips twitched. He knew Ryan was a playboy, but falling for a married woman was a new low.
lan’s expression darkened. Ryan may be young and foolish, but what was the woman’s excuse? Didn’t she always claim to love
her husband?
Lowering his gaze, he noticed the message he had sent to his wife in name only the previous night. He frowned, setting a
precise meeting time.
[12 o’clock sharp)
Maja bád just stepped out of Ryan’s car when her phone buzzed. She checked her phone and remembered that today was the
day she and lan were supposed to discuss divorce.
“Mr. Elston, thank you.”
Ryan leaned out of the car window, grinning broadly. “Goodbye. Consider me a friend.“”
Maja smiled and entered the apartment building. Behind her, a weak voice called out, “Maja.”
Maja turned to see Tricia standing under a nearby tree, looking pale. She hadn’t noticed her before as she stood in a blind spot.
“Tricia, why are you out of the hospital?”
Tricia coughed lightly, puzzled. Who was the stranger that had just dropped Maja off? Although he drove a million–dollar car and
was fairly good–looking, she was sure hej wasn’t lan. She had once caught a glimpse of lan from afar and found him as
unforgettable as a character in a painting. The man she saw just now didn’t compare.
“I asked my father to arrange for my discharge. I wanted to recover at home. Maja, aren’t you going to the Pennyfeather family
dinner tonight? Have you forgotten it’s my! birthday?”
Maja wasn’t entirely sure about Tricia’s attitude toward her. She could understand Cristina Perkins‘ dislike, but Tricia had always
been polite.
“I haven’t forgotten. I’ll be at the Pennyfeather’s tonight. I just have some things to take care of this afternoon. Once I’m done, I’ll
head over immediately. This is your birthday present.”

She handed Tricia the necklace she had purchased. Ryan had given her a similar one before, but she thought it inappropriate to
re–gift it. So, she bought another one with the same design.
Tricia opened the box with a surprised look. “Thank you, I really love it!”
Seeing Tricia’s flushed face, Maja worried she might catch a cold. She gestured towards the car. “Get in, and I’ll drop you off at
home.”
Tricia nodded and settled into the passenger seat. As Maja started the car, Tricia hesitated before finally asking, “Maja, do you
really not like lan?”
