Six months ago, an earthquake struck.
Arthur rushed outside immediately, intent on finding Amanda, oblivious to the chandelier crashing down towards him.
I instinctively threw myself at him to shield him.
The chandelier crushed my left leg.
Arthur roughly pushed me aside, yelling, “Chloe, you vile woman, even now you try to stop me from saving Amanda. Get away from me!”

He thought I tackled him to prevent him from reaching Amanda.
He burst out of the house, not seeing me motionless on the ground.
I was buried under the rubble for three days and nights.
By then, Arthur had already found Amanda and taken her to safety.

Arthur was convinced I was faking it.
“Are you playing games even during an earthquake, and now this? Are you Pretending to be disabled to gain my sympathy?”

That month, I missed my period.
I went to the hospital alone, and when I was diagnosed as pregnant, I was actually delighted.

I joyfully called Arthur to tell him I was pregnant.
He was furious.
“Chloe Kade, don’t be so reckless when you’re trying to trick someone. Do you think you can just get pregnant with one go? How powerful am I, that you could get pregnant on the first try?”
Arthur looked as if struck by lightning, collapsing to the ground in a daze.
