Chapter 31
Day 123:
Riley held Abigail’s hand as they stood with the rest of the North American team staring at the graves of Paul Strader, Marian Jackson, and Hunter Patel. These were the three members of their team who had given their lives to help save the human race from a major extinction. Two of the graves didn’t have bodies in them, the other had a body that was only a fraction of what the outdoors man had once been.
There would be a news report about the three of them tonight, as the brave scientist, Naval Capitan, and former Naval Lieutenant. The news report would be given on all of them; they were recognized as heroes for being part of the team that created the Z-Vaccine.
The last few days had been a blur of cameras, interviews and meeting world leaders. Riley had never been the center of so much attention. Obviously neither had the other members of the team, with the exception of Henry Suber. From the way that he has been acting you would think that he had never been around that many people either Riley thought.
They also met the members of the two other teams that they had worked with for the past four months. The director of the Russian team was named Abram Sokolov, along with four other team members whose names he could not remember. The members of the Antarctic team was a ragtag team of people from all over the world; the Director was a Canadian named Douglas Lee and there Christopher Smith from Whales.
A picture was taken of all of the members of the three teams that saved the human race.

The team divided after that day, most of them in search of their missing family members. James went to D.C. attempting to find his girlfriend, Dr. Henry Suber and Dr. Kennedy did the followed in search of their own families. James never did find his girlfriend. Dr. Suber found his daughter and two grandsons but his son and his family were reported killed shortly after the attack in D.C. Dr. Kennedy’s family had miraculously survived.
Fabiana’s family didn’t survive the bombing of Mexico City, there were hardly any survivors. She instead decided to stay with Yumi and continue working for IDRI hoping to move from a mere vaccine to a cure for the Z-virus.
Benjamin, Riley and Abigail had moved to Great Britain. Riley’s family was also immune to the disease and quickly welcomed Abigail whose family had been killed during the Zombie War with open arms.
