I wear a robe and house slippers then go to the kitchen where he is cooking.

‘You look better, I was worried you were falling sick.’

‘Is that even possible right now? For me to fall sick?’

He chuckles.

‘You do know that you still have your human nature right? I mean you might be carrying our baby but you still have this human side of you.’

‘Honestly O’Brien I am tired of talking about this baby our child, can we just talk about something else? Like how my education is supposed to go?’

‘You don’t have to change anything and I would be disappointed if you quit school because you are carrying a child.’

I sigh, going to gran am apple.

‘I don’t want to quit school, I still want to do something with my life. I mean I had so much planned before this.’ I say pointing at my tummy

‘Don’t worry, you will get around everything. For now I need to feed you guys.’ He says dishing up

He has prepared chicken and vegetable fried rice, there is coleslaw on the side and freshly made lemon juice.

‘Thank you.’ I say pointing a spoonful of rice in my mouth, God I had forgotten just how good of a cook he is.

‘So, why did Astridah pretend to be Besa’s girlfriend?’ I ask with food in my mouth

‘So remember we are from two different worlds yes? Besa is being used by the dark side and because we have to put a stop to it she had to come and and get as much information and insight from him as possible. We needed to know how far they have gone.’

I scoff.

‘What?’

‘You are a god, why would you have to come and date someone from the evil world just to get information from them? Why not just use your powers to get rid of them?’

‘That’s not how it works and you will learn that eventually.’

‘I wouldn’t want to do any of the things that you have been doing, because I can’t imagine myself sacrificing myself just to fight some battle that I was born into.’

‘Until you walk a day in our shoes then you would understand.’ He says and I can sense a hint of anger in his voice

‘So the cult that Besa is in, what did he have to sacrifice?’

‘He was to sacrifice the baby that you carry.’

‘Excuse me?’

‘There is something special about you, both worlds want you.’

I don’t know how to feel about that.

I finally gather the strength to ask the question I have been afraid of asking.

‘And what did my brother have to sacrifice and at what price?’

‘You can take a wild guess.’

I sigh

‘His child for wealth?’

‘That was back in UNI and in order for him to reverse the whole thing he had to sacrifice his entire generation, Caleb can never have children because each time his wife is pregnant the child is given up. That is the life he chose.’

I feel this emptiness, I don’t know if Nancy knows this but honestly I feel for her. There was a time back in the days when Caleb was really doing well, I could get anything I wanted but all of a sudden things just went south and now it makes sense.

I pick up my phone and dial his number, he picks up on the first ring.

‘I am coming home, you and I have some serious talking to do.’ I say before cutting the line and switching the phone off, I will only go there tomorrow. If I am carrying this Yakari and it’s as strong as O’Brien is claiming to be then I need to get my brother’s life back in place, yes I hate that he had to sacrifice his life for the dark forces but he is still my brother and will forever be one. I will defend him even if I get on the cusp of both evil and good.
