Crystalla

Chapter of Life

Roisin came in to land just beside the Life Crystal Cairn, it was a giant structure atop a cliff that overlooked the city of Jorvik below, as she landed, she noticed another fighter airship nearby.

"Hmm..." She frowned, as she climbed out of the fighter, scanning her surroundings as she did. The tall pine trees nearby made it hard to make anything out. Roisin sighed and headed over to the Cairn, as she walked inside, the Crystal glowed a calming teal colour, illuminating the large room in its glow.

Roisin took a deep breath as she neared the Crystal. As she was about to place her hand on the Crystal, a blade flew at her, she jumped to the side to dodge, as the blade bounced off of the hard surface of the Crystal. Roisin turned to the doorway to see someone who looked very much like her.

"At last we meet, Roisin" Hazel smiled.

"Who are you?!" Roisin frowned.

"I'm Hazel, but you might know the true me better by the name, Rychard" Hazel grinned.

"Rychard?!" Roisin growled as she summoned a Celestial Sword. "Did Infernus send you?" She asked.

"Infernus?" Hazel shrugged. "Oh, I'm not the real me, but a copy, from Disceath's labs" She added.

"Why? Why did he make a copy?" Roisin asked.

"I am to take your power, and save the world. I, or Rychard, deemed you unworthy and unable of such a task" Hazel shrugged.

"Take my power?" Roisin smirked. "Over my dead body..." She shrugged.

"That IS the idea" Hazel shrugged, as she summoned her several Celestial Blades behind her.

"What the..." Roisin panicked upon seeing the floating blades manifest.

"This is the true power that you wield, yet you are unable to use it... because you are not worthy" Hazel grinned. As she prepared to attack, Atlas run up behind her and kicked her in the back, sending her to the floor.

"Uncle Atlas?!" Roisin gasped.

"Roisin, no time, get to the Crystal, I'll keep her busy" Atlas yelled. Roisin nodded and ran over to the Crystal. As her hand touched the cool flat surface, time slowed around her, and a pair of arms embraced her from behind.

"Roisin, you finally made it" A familiar female voice said calmly, Roisin turned to see her mother, Ruby, stood behind her.

"Mum?" Roisin asked.

"This is where we will part... I'm afraid" Ruby sighed.

"Part? But why? When will I see you again?" Roisin asked as she fought back tears.

"I have been with you, since you visited the Underworld, remember? I never became a Crystalla, because you already were" Ruby sighed. "I lent the last of my strength to get you here, from here, you must walk alone" Ruby frowned. "I'm afraid this will be the last time I see you, in this lifetime..." She added.

"Mum, don't leave me again, please..." Roisin cried, as she held her mother's hand.

"Rosie, you've grown so much this past decade, I've watched over you the whole time, you don't need me anymore, you are strong enough to stand on your own, rely on your own power now..." Ruby smiled. "I'm sorry that me and Atlas kept the truth about what you are from you" She continued, as she looked at Atlas moving very slowly.

"But know that you being a Crystalla never mattered to me, or to him" Ruby nodded. "You are Roisin Luna, always have been and always will be" She smiled sadly.

"I love you, Mum..." Roisin sighed, as tears ran down her cheeks.

"I love you, Roisin, I always will..." Ruby smiled, as her voice faded and her form appeared to be carried away by the wind. Time slowly began to speed up, as the full power of the Life Crystal was absorbed into Roisin.

Hazel turned to look at Roisin, who now gazed at her with teal glowing eyes.

"No! That is my power!" Hazel roared. Roisin sighed and shook her head, as she summoned a dozen Celestial Blades behind her, and knocked Hazel from her feet.

"It's my power" Roisin growled. "MY LIFE!" She shouted as blades flew toward Hazel, landing inches from her. Hazel gasped in shock before running outside in terror, to see The Wild Rose II coming in to land.
