Chapter 38
"What Allison said about you... what's it about?"
Damien could distinguish between Lisa's voice and Claire's. He was very sure that that was Lisa speaking.
After he ran away from the annoying wolf, he had gone to catch fish for the night, then went to peep on the Cannibals, and finally had come to do what he wanted to; see how the girls are doing. It was now evening.
He had learnt in this short period of time that most times girls act based on their emotions. In that light, he believed that Claire might had left with Lisa the previous day because her emotions clouded her sense of reasoning. But it seemed to be beyond that, Claire wasn't only driven by her emotions, but by her ego.
Damien had crept on the cave where Claire and Lisa were hiding. Damien was thinking of building a hut somewhere around there for them. So, they could locate it and hide there until they have a change of mind. But again, he thought about it, they weren't worth it. They would kill him or annihilate him if they have the chance.
"It's nothing, forget about it."
Claire wasn't ready to have the conversation.
WHAT IS THIS ABOUT? ARE THEY TALKING ABOUT WHAT ALLISON WHISPERED IN CLAIRE'S EAR WEEKS AGO?
Damien didn't bother to rack his brain. Instead, he decided to hear the conversation through. After all, he was lucky to had gotten there at such an important moment.
"Do you think it's necessary to hide it from me anymore? I already told you my secret, admitted to your face that I had a crush on you."
HAD? WHEN DID SHE STOP LIKING CLAIRE? WELL, I'M NOT SURPRISED. WHO WOULDN'T HATE THAT BITCH FOR BEING SO SASSY AND RESTLESS. SHE THINKS MONEY CAN GET HER EVERYTHING.
"Don't you think it'll be unfair to hide this from me? Shouldn't you at least respect the fact that I keep sticking around you?"
"I didn't ask you to, did I?"
Claire snapped at her.
THAT'S RIGHT. FIGHT BITCHES. FIGHT!
"No, you didn't. It's true. Yet, don't you have a sense of appreciation? Shouldn't you at least be appreciative?"
"No, I can't be. Why should I be? Why should I be appreciative to you, after all, I have once done you a favor."
Lisa got impatient and raised her voice,
"What dumb favor are you talking about? Because you gave us something to hold unto when we Crash-landed? For few days? Don't you think that the loser did more than you could ever think of?"
LOSER AGAIN? WHEN WOULD THEY ACCORD ME RESPECT.
Damien turned to leave.
"If anyone has the right to boss us around, that should be him. He did things for us without asking for much. He didn't even abuse us sexually." Damien couldn't leave anymore. His heart melted at those words of Lisa. He wanted to grab her face and kiss her so mercilessly for saying that.
SO, THESE GIRLS ARE QUITE SMART.
He thought. He recalled the dark thoughts he had once which he decided to kick out. He sighed deeply.
"So, what? So what if he helped us, he's just a loser. It's only his right to do that! We paid him to do that! We own him!!!"
Damien was very pissed to hear that. He wanted to go into the cave and hit her or something. But he restrained the urge.
"And what do you want to hear?"
Claire continued.
"You want to know what Allison whispered into my ears?"
YES YES.
Damien was so excited that he almost forgot that he was pissed off.
"Yes! I have a crush on him! Because I'm so stupid!! How could I have a crush on a loser like him!!! How can I, the only daughter of the richest man in the world, fall for the grandson of a fisherman?! I'd rather hate him all my life that admit the emotions."
Damien unconsciously dropped the bag of fish in his hand. That made a thud.
"What was that?"
Lisa was on a edge.
"Is that a beast?"
Claire forgot about all she had said. Both girls were scared.
"Maybe we should go back to the castle."
Damien didn't wait to hear the remaining, he hurried away. After all, he needed to prepare a meal for the girls like he had promised.
He got to the castle and prepared the meal. Rice, fish stew, wine and venison. He served the girls. They were all gathered around a bonfire, eating. It was night.
"What are they doing here?"
Though, Damien knew that Evelyn had meant those words to be a whisper, yet he could hear her loud and clear.
His gaze strayed to the pair Evelyn had refered to: Lisa and Claire. They had come to join them. Damien arrived at the conclusion that the girls got freaked out after they heard the thud his bag made. They probably thought it was a wild animal, and came to seek refuge here, for the night. He served them also.
Damien was trying all he could not to think about what he had overheard Claire say about him.
HOW CAN THAT BE TRUE? THAT CAN NEVER BE TRUE. SHE WAS PROBABLY HIGH. CLAIRE? CLAIRE HAS A CRUSH ON ME?
He gulped, taking a glance at her. No matter how much he tried to think of it, it didn't make sense. All his life, he had been the one crushing on almost all the girls. How did you expect him to handle getting to know that the girl who hated him the most has a huge crush on him? A crush which had been inspiring her actions since they got to the island!
SHE HAD BEEN DOING ALL THAT BECAUSE OF ME?
Damien shrugged the thoughts off. He wasn't ready to admit to it.
"Oh my goodness! This taste so good."
"Damien is the best chef in the world."
"How can someone be perfect in every way!"
"I know right."
It felt good to hear them compliment him, but his mind was really busy. He cleared his throat.
"Like I promised, we would be having a game today. Though something came up which almost ruined the whole plan, preventing me from making the necessary preparations for the game. Yet, I gave my words and I'll honor it. We'll play another game today, the other game would be postponed to the future."
"What happened?"
"Do you have an idea?"
"How can I, he keeps things to himself."
Damien ignored the side talks of the girls.
"So, what's the game?"
Mira asked.
"Truth or Dare."
He had a plan for choosing this game. It was just a matter of time before he got to the point.
"Allison, lead the game."
The chatters of the girls died down. Almost all of them were so excited about the game.
"Me?"
Allison quizzed, he nodded.
"Uhmm, so then let's start. I guess it's a game we can play while eating."
"True."
The girls chorused nodding. Claire refused to eat. None of the girls seemed interested in whatever she did. But Lisa occasionally looked at her.
"Let's start with you, Evelyn. Truth or Dare."
"Dare!!!"
Evelyn shouted excitedly.
"I dare you to lick your toe."
The girls bursted out laughing.
"No, you're kidding right?"
Evelyn looked devastated.
"What were you thinking? She would dare you to ride his cock?"
Tendzel snapped at Evelyn. A dark smile tugged at corner of Damien's face at Tendzel's remark.
"Is that too much to ask."
Evelyn went babyish. She slowly went down and licked her left toe. She ran away to puke.
"Damien, it's your turn."
Damien's eyes widened.
"So soon?"
He quizzed. None of the girls expected that also.
"I'm the lead, remember?"
Allison winked at him. He sighed.
"Truth or Dare."
Allison asked.
"He would say dare."
"Of course he would."
"What else can he say when he can choose one of you."
Claire said under her breath.
"Claire!"
Some of the girls scolded but she didn't care.
"Who asked her to come? We shouldn't had welcomed her."
Jada blurted.
"Hey whore, hold your peace."
"Who is the whore? You want to ---"
"Enough, enough!"
Allison shut them up. They respected her but glared at each other.
"Truth."
Damien shocked the lot of them. All the girls were surprised that he chose, 'truth'.
"Tell us where you got the power to do all these?"
Claire called on top of her voice.
"Yes we want to know."
The rest of the girls seconded.
"I ask the questions here."
Allison had another idea. All the girls grumbled. Allison turned to Damien,
"Tell us one of the deepest secrets you've been hiding."
"Is that even a question. Why should we --"
"I kissed Claire."
Damien cut Tendzel short.
"What!!!"
The girls shouted at once, all eyes going from Damien to Claire.
