Chapter 109
"Wait a minute, what was that?"
Damien spun around to the mouth of the cave which was been occasionally haunted by the waves of the sea. There was no hard land anymore, whether frozen or not. It was just a helpless mountain stalked by the raging blue ocean.
"Did I just hear Der? Was that Der?"
He had heard a voice in his subconscious mind. Not a faint one but a very loud and familiar one as though the person who had spoken was there with him in the cave.
He looked around him to be sure that he was sane and wasn't missing out on any good details. So it seemed, he was the only one in the cave.
"Der?"
He quizzed again.
"Makes me feel like she is outside there someone. Like drowning in the ocean or something."
"But she didn't sound like she's drowning. She sounded like she was her old self. Her fooking old annoying self."
He grunted in displeasure. He was mad at the wolf. He had every right to be. How could she --
Point in time, he recalled the message which the wolf had telepathed to him. He flipped out the window system and scrolled through till he got to...
"Nether TV pro."
He clicked on and the feature was isolated.
"Bring up the latest activity of the nine girls who are on the jungle island."
[Ping! Nether TV pro searching.]
[Ping! Search results displaying in ---]
He flipped that part away, paying attention to what was supplanted in front of him. The scene of the nine girls.
"Did you just talk about my mother?"
"So what, what would you do about it?"
"Hey... hey... someone tell this one to stop grabbing my pant."
"Who want hell huh?"
"Oh my God, what are you doing? Putting your finger in your butthole?"
"So what....come smell it. You might come back to your senses when you perceive its ---"
"Go away, you pig..."
Damien watched as Jada pursued Evelyn with a pointed finger which had been dug in her butthole. Evenly would run around in circles throwing any girl she found in Jada's way.
The rest of the girls looked exhausted and had bruises all over their faces and bodies. Some of them were seated, panting like they had just been chased by a wild animal. While some were standing, looking like
Damien dropped the system. He shook his head. His face which had involuntarily housed a smile repented at once.
"When would these dummies come to their senses? Aren't they grown ups? Shouldn't they know that there is more to life than dwelling on their differences?"
He walked away from where he was and went to sit at the corner of the empty cave, pressing his back to a strangely warm wall of the cave surrounded by a cozy environment.
"I don't know if I should regret or ---"
He was frustrated. To think that he was here struggling to survive and make it possible for them to leave the island, only to see them fighting?!
"If I was there and asked them what the matter was, it might be something so petty."
"Something like who was supposed to speak before whom or who ---"
He didn't want to think about it anymore. If he did, he would only get angrier. And the angrier he got, the madder he would be at the girls. He heaved a heavy sigh to clear out the strange and odd emotions. Even though that didn't work the trick he wanted, at least he felt a little better.
A sudden realization hit him as soon he paved a room for new thoughts.
"But then. What are they doing at this part of the shore of the ocean?" He thought for a while.
"Oh, it must be. Ayisha. Did she really?"
He made a weird sound in his throat.
"I thought I figured her out already... I guess there is more cards up her sleeve."
"But thinking of this... the girls do have their uniqueness. They might be short-tempered and fight over everything to stake a claim of dominance. Yet they have these strange qualities that pop up momentarily." He nodded, pushing his cheeks to the side to make a contemptuous contour.
He pushed his body up a bit,
"Girls, I don't think you need to worry about finding me here? I'm not sure if you would even find a way... I bet not. But if it happens that you eventually did, you wouldn't find me here."
He smiled at the thought. At once, the smile grew sour. He heard some clicking and whispering. Loud but melodious. Like a choir of --
He jumped up and rushed to the mouth of the cave.
He saw dolphins jumping to an fro, in a great number.
"Oh my goodness."
His heart melted.
"This is so beautiful. I wish I was a --"
He choked on the words.
"Who knows what this bastard system would take seriously again."
He kept watching the dolphins as he smiled heartily. He felt so peacefully that he couldn't even think of the girls, whether or not they were still at each other's necks.
THEY ARE OLD ENOUGH TO WORRY ABOUT THEMSELVES.
"I really wish that my phone was here. How beautiful would it seem to take pictures, I mean beautiful pictures of these lovely creatures."
[Ping! System notification: Host's wishes tally with the functions of the CATACLYSM SURVIVAL SYSTEM. And thereby automatically activates the NETHER CAMERA FUNCTIONS.] "Huh, what is that?"
He wasn't sure of what to believe yet until a screen popped up before him. It was a sort of screen that pops whenever you want to use a typical HDR camera. "Woah... this is nuts."
He moved closer and looked through the lens. The camera quality was so insanely clear and beautiful. The saturation level, shadows and ambience were on another level. [Ping! NETHER CAMERA FUNCTIONS clicks every pictures in ultra 150k clarity and resolution.]
"Wait... wasn't the highest 4k? 150 what?"
He was finding it hard to believe.
"What am I supposed to click on to take a --"
He found an answer before completing the question.
"Oh it must be this."
He clicked on a triangular arrow at the base. Click! A picture was taken. He looked. His jaws dropped.
"Oh, my fooking God. No way!!! No fucking way!!!"
The picture he had taken seemed like he was seeing the content of the picture in real life, with more beauty and quality.
"This can't be real."
He clicked as many pictures of the dolphins as possible.
"This should be the video function."
He clicked on and started videoing instead. He felt so relieved and happy. Like he was on top of the world. Point in time, something strange hit him.
"Wow... if I had known about this, wouldn't I had made a recording of all my fights and battles with the sharks, tiger, lion, bear, scorpions and lots more. It would had been so great, putting them on a YouTube channel... no one will believe the story told unless there is a video to prove it..."
[Ping! NETHER CAMERA FUNCTIONS has a stockpile of all actions related to the host. Since the day he landed on the NETHER ISLAND until now.]
"Wait what... what did he just say? Did he just call this island Nether Island?"
Of course he heard about the fulfilment of his wish but he had allowed himself to be distracted by the additions of the system.
"This is Damien's island, motherfucker. This is my fooking island! What the hell is a Nether Island? What a dumb name."
[Ping! System notification: Changing the title of the island could be done when the host has successfully graduated to the second tier consisting of attributions.]
Damien's countenance fell when he realized what that meant.
"Shit. I won't be able to do this until I leave the island. Whatever."
He allowed himself to be contented by the fact that he had a lot of things at his disposal at that moment. He could see the videos of him fighting the sharks and several other creatures he had had encounters with. Even the poachers.
"Dang! I can use this."
His heart was filled with joy when he saw the video of the Rainbow boys being humiliated by him.
Long time ago, the boys had ridiculed him many times and even beaten him back in Vegas, made him do their dirty works whenever the BMX met with their group. The groups would meet twice in a year. This was his time for payback.
"I'm coming for y'all bastards."
Suddenly, he realized what was the most important part of all of this.
"How am I supposed to move all of these to my phone? I can't possibly put these on YouTube through the system. It's impossible. I don't even have a laptop yet."
[Ping! To move all images and videos to the lower devices, a system gem would be the cost of every transaction.]
His eyes squinted.
"A system gem? Wow... I bet there are so many things that I can do with these gems that I don't know yet."
He got tired of taking pictures. He walked back into the cave.
"I should climb to the top of this mountain and see what's left to do. Since all the frozen land had dissolved, I've technically rid predators off the island. But I can't be sure yet until I climb to the top of the mountain."
He walked to the yacht, which he had moved into the cave, to get prepared. Prepared for climbing.
