Chapter 103
"I saw him just now."
Damien looked around him, as though the person had leapt into the ocean. There was no splash made. And the interval between opening his eyes and jumping on his feet was scarcely two seconds. But there was no one in sight.
He ran away from that place to where he thought the fellow could had run to. He ran past the other side of the cave. There was nothing to look for in the other open frozen area of the island. Therefore the only reasonable chance was to go into the cave.
He rushed inside the cave. To his utmost dismay, there was a man draped in the robe of a samurai. A blue robe with a long red cape which reached to the end of his soles.
Damien swept his palm over his face to be sure that he wasn't caught up in a sort of trance. Even though he knew that he had never sleep-walked in his entire life, yet he couldn't help but blink several times. When he pinched his cheek and realized that it hurts so badly, he realized that he was in right mind.
"Who are you?"
He hadn't chosen to ask that question. His lips had moved of their own accord. Wasn't that the right question to ask?
He took several steps forward. He had conflicted thoughts. There were a lot of questions that he wanted to ask but he couldn't bring himself to making words out of them. How could he when the fellow hadn't answered the first question.
Suddenly, a realization hit him. He thought of that as the only option he had. The only reasonable thing he could.
IN THE BLINK OF AN EYE, I CAN ZOOM TO HIM AND GRAB HIM FROM BEHIND. SINCE HE THINKS HE CAN --
"Don't think of it."
The thick and eerie voice of the man came. Not only was Damien stunned and startled, the strange voice of the man sent shrills down his spines. So creepy. Leaving him bathed in goosebumps.
HOW THE FUCK DID HE KNOW WHAT I WAS ABOUT TO DO?
The more he tried to think of it, the clueless he was. The reluctant he was to admit it.
BULLSHIT, HE'S ONLY PLAYING A GAME.
Damien zoomed at once towards the man but he hugged the wind. The man was no longer there.
"Huh, where did he go? Did he disappear just now?"
"You're quite the obstinate one, aren't you."
A voice came from behind him again. Damien spun around. The man was standing at the mouth of the cave. His back to Damien.
"You've made it quite difficult for us to get along."
The man took gentle steps out of the cave.
"Till we meet again."
He walked away.
"Hey... wait."
Damien zoomed to catch up with the man but he couldn't find him anymore.
"Hey, come out. Where are you?"
He zoomed around like he was having a show.
"Okay, I won't push my luck. You have my words. Just come out and let's have a talk. Who are you and how do you know me?"
But it seemed only as though Damien was talking to himself. He got no response whatsoever. He kept on zooming to and fro, round the cave, yet found nothing. It was becoming really tiring but he didn't want to give up.
"Could it be? Did he leave already? For real?"
He stopped at the mouth of the cave. He was beginning to relate with the realization of what happened.
"But who is he? What does he want from me?"
He pursed his lips. He was really confused and was too slow to hide it.
"Where did he come from?"
"By any means, does he have anything to do with the system. He couldn't possibly be the owner of this frozen island. If he was, he would had told me to leave at once."
He shook his head. So it seemed, he wasn't getting enough of the info he needed.
"How did he know that I was going to zoom to him? How did he figure that out? Is this some sort of side effect that comes with the system?"
He heaved a heavy sigh. He wasn't sure of what to think anymore. Neither did he pretend as though he had it figured out. He would be making a fool of himself. That was a truth which was seated right before his eyes.
"Maybe the system could help."
He decided to flip the system window out. That was the only thing he could think of. The only option he could resort to.
He started scrolling through, no matter how hard and fast he did scroll he didn't see anything useful. The system would finally bring him to the tier two's question and answer attributions.
"This useless system! Always useless whenever you need help the most."
He decided to take out his anger on the system, but there was little he could do. All he could do was bicker and shout, he couldn't possibly fight the system huh? "Fuck this. My head aches."
He gave up on trying to push his luck. After all, no matter how hard he thought of it he couldn't arrive at anything helpful. He would be dumb not to embrace the reality.
He heaved a heavy sigh again and tilted his neck to look inside the cave again.
"This dumb system."
A part of him really expected the man to pop out of the walls or air. Yea, that was how desperate he was. And the fact was that he would remain restless until he get to the bottom of this. Until he figure out who the fuck the intruder was.
"Bastard... bastard... crazy bastard... fucking jerk..."
He kept on mumbling as he walked away from the cave. If he could find a scapegoat at that moment, he would make a pulp out of the person's face.
He zoomed to the shark. Getting there, his stomach grumbled. Reminding him that he was still famished.
Truth be told, he had even forgotten that he was hungry.
He looked up. The sun was orange. He knew that it was the matter of time before night fall upon him.
He sat beside the dead shark and brought out the system window.
[Ping! Aqua Facts: The bones of a shark could be useful if thoughtfully used. Host should keep them intact.] "Intact my foot. Bastard."
He brought a small but very sharp ax. He began to cut into the shark, crushing the bones mercilessly.
He needed to eat, as well as empty his rage.
Ayisha and Claire were standing at the front of the Cannibals' village. They both were in awe of the buildings the Cannibals were making. The constructions were breathtaking.
"Oh my God, Damien really affected them positively. Who could tell that these wild folks could be so innovative?"
Ayisha muttered more to herself than to the person next to her.
"Are we going to keep admiring? Is that what we came here to do?"
Ayisha turned to Claire who had a fat glare on. She shook her head.
"Shake your head for all I care. Even if you like make your head drop from your neck. Let's do what we have to do now. I have something else to take care of."
Claire was horny and needed to masturbate. But finding Damien was more important than that. And to think of it, the image of Damien etched in her brain was what had turned her on and would ease her of her pleasure.
"I'm waiting for him. I haven't seen him yet. I think he is sort of busy like the rest."
"Was that your master plan? I thought you had something better in mind? You were all bossy when you knew you couldn't enter into their territory? How dumb can people be though."
Ayisha knew too well to take Claire's words personally. They've been living together for about two months now. They had grown on each other or were starting to?
"I wish I had a crush on you Claire..."
Ayisha who had been staring at her all along said all of a sudden. Claire's eyes widened. A sudden wave of curiosity swept across her face.
"What do you mean?"
Ayisha chuckled looking away.
"There he is. I'll lure him out."
She walked away from Claire who stood there for a while, watching her go. It was obvious that she was still basking in the rays of the random words Ayisha had just said. "Hey, what do you mean by that?"
"Let's do business first then we will talk about that later."
Ayisha didn't wait for her.
"That bitch, why does she love suspense so much? She always love to make you want more. She's so good at tying someone to herself. WAAH... what a brazen bitch." But then again, her face changed.
"But that was so random. Where did that come from. What was she thinking of?"
She looked at her gown, pushing her butts up.
"Am I so cute? Why is everyone crushing on me? First Lisa, now Ayisha?"
She chuckled.
"I'm sure a spec. But I look like shit. I should go bathe after this. What if Damien sees me like this."
Then he remembered.
"Oh, the bastard is still playing hide and seek."
She noticed Ayisha talking to that Cannibal.
"Hey, won't you wait for me?"
She hurried away. Immediately she left, out of the woods walked out the remaining girls excluding Laurette, Mira and Evelyn.
"Lisa, follow her. Let's find out what they are up to. It seems like their course is becoming fruitful. They look so determined and rest assured as well."
Allison gave the order.
"I'll go."
Jada volunteered.
"Huh?"
The girls chorused.
"You?"
Tendzel couldn't hide her shock.
"Whatever."
Jada walked away from the rest, stealing upon the two...
