Chapter 137
Aston
I sat on the couch, staring blankly at the TV. It had been days since I had sex with the h**y maid, thinking it would help. clear up my head. But it was just a temporary release. I still couldn’t shake off the feeling of unease that had been building up inside me.
I couldn’t stop thinking about Mara. I hadn’t asked her to take a pregnancy test, or if she even knew she was pregnant. I wasn’t scared of asking her, but I was scared of her answer. What if she knew?
What if she said yes? What if she was pregnant? I didn’t know if I was ready for that. I didn’t know if I wanted to be a father. It was all too much and I had no one to talk to because my brother was busy following Kira around.
1 got up from the couch and walked to the mini bar, pouring myself a glass of whiskey. I took a sip, feeling the liquid burn down my throat. I thought about how I had ended up here.
“Aston. you’re an idiot,” I said to myself, shaking my head. But I did nothing wrong and I knew it so why did I feel so shitty?
I thought about Kira, and how she would react if she found out. I didn’t want to admit it to myself, but I was worried about what she would think. It should not be important to me but it was.
I walked back to the couch and sat down, taking another sip of my whiskey.
The next day, I saw Mara in the hallway. She glared hard at me and I was confused until I remembered how I had shot he off the last time she came to my room. I reached for her arm and pulled her close before muttering an apology into her ears, She shivered and smiled at me in an instant. Like a child.
1 knew I had to ask her, but it was weird.
“Hey,” I said, trying to sound casual. “Can we talk?”
Mara nodded, and followed me to the living room. We sat down on the couch, and I took a deep breath.
“Mara, I need to ask you something,” I said, trying to sound calin. “Do you think you might be….pregnant?”
Mara looked at me, her eyes wide with fear. “I don’t know,” she said, her voice shaking. “I haven’t taken a test yet.”
I nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. Maybe I was wrong, maybe she wasn’t pregnant.
But then Mara spoke up again. “But I have been feeling weird lately,” she said. “I’ve been feeling nauseous, and my breasts have been sore.”
I felt my heart sink, and I knew I had to face the truth. Mara was probably pregnant, and I was the father.
“What are we going to do?” Mara asked, looking at me with worry in her eyes.
I didn’t know. I didn’t have an answer. All I knew was that my life was about to change forever.
1 sat in my living room, thinking about my situation. Mara was my mate, and I knew I had to do the right thing. I couldn’t just ignore her and the child we were having. I needed to take responsibility and make sure they were both taken care of.
I thought about my mate bond with Kira, it existed but it meant nothing. It didn’t mean we were meant to be together,

We lay there for a little trying to catch our breathis.
I finally opened his eyes and took in the view in front of me. My lesk was in disarray, papers and stationary sc*ed everywhere, including on the floor. My eyes settled on her ripped leggings, her juices making her soft skin shine as my started to drip out of her stretched hole.

I grabbed pills from my drawer and made her swallow them. I couldn’t risk having a kid with a maid. At least not this maid.
“Clean this mess up before you leave.” I informed her as I stepped into the shower.

Chapter 137
As I waited. I thought about my past with Mara’s parents. We had gone on trips together when my parents were still alive. They were friends, and I had always liked them. But after my parents died and I became Alpha, I became too busy to check on them. And frankly, I just didn’t want to speak with them because they reminded me of my parents.
But now, I had to face them again. I had to ask for their permission to mate with Mara, and I wanted to make sure I did. everything right.
Mara came out of the bathroom, holding the pregnancy test in her hand. “Aston, it’s positive,” she said, her voice shaking.
I took a deep breath, trying to process the news. I was going to be a father. I was going to mate with Mara. There was no more back and forth now, it was final.
“We need to go see your parents,” I said. “I need to ask for their permission to mate with you.”
“Do we have to?” she asked and I was confused at the question. Was this not what she wanted?
I looked at Mara, trying to understand why she was being so reluctant. We were sitting on the bed now, discussing our plans. to go see her parents. The sunlight streaming through the window highlighted the tension in her body, her shoulders hunched and her eyes cast down.
“I don’t know, Aston,” she said, shaking her head. “I just don’t feel right about going back home like this
“Like what?” I asked, trying to keep my tone gentle. I leaned forward, my elbows on my knees, and my eyes locked on hers.
“Pregnant,” she said, her voice bately above a whisper. Her cheeks flushed with a mix of embarrassment and shame. “I left home to get away from all of that, and now I’m going back pregnant. It’s just embarrassing.”
I sighed, trying to understand where she was coming from but it was all just so confusing. “That’s the whole point of you being here. We’re meant to be together, and we’re having a child together. What’s wrong with that?”
Mara looked down, her eyes avoiding mine. Her hands fidgeted in her lap, a clear sign of her agitation. “I know,” she said. “It’s just…my parents are going to be disappointed in me. They were always so strict about things like this.”
I got up and walked over to her, sitting down beside her on the couch. I put my arm around her shoulders, pulling her close. “Mara, listen to me,” I said, my voice soft and calming. “We’re in this together, okay? We’ll face your parents together, and we’ll make them understand. We’re not doing anything wrong here.”
Mara looked up at me her eyes searching mine. She seemed to be looking for reassurance, for a guarantee that everything would be okay. “You really think so?” she asked, her voice laced with doubt.
I nodded, trying to convey my confidence. “I know so,” I said. “We’re meant to be together, Mara. And we’re having a child. together. That’s something to be proud of, not ashamed of”
Mara nodded slowly, a small smile on her face. “Okay,” she said, “Let’s do it”
I smiled back at her, needing reassurance myself.
We stood up and started to get ready, Mara’s reluctance slowly fading away as we prepared to face her parents together. I could sense her determination growing, her shoulders squaring and her head held high.
When it was only a few hours left for us to leave, Mara suddenly started getting sick. She was throwing up every second, and her face was pale and clammy. I was unsure of what to do. I had been looking forward to this trip all day, and now it seemed like it might not happen. I didn’t know if to be excited or sad.
“Mara, what’s wrong?” Tasked, trying to keep my tone calm. I sat down beside her on the bed and put my hand on her forehead. She felt warm to the touch, but I couldn’t tell if it was just her skin or if she was actually running a fever.

“I don’t know,” she replied, her voice weak. “I just feel so sick.” She looked up at me with pleading eyes, and I could see the fear and uncertainty there.
1 looked at her, trying to determine if she was genuinely ill or just pretending. But she looked really pale, and her eyes had lost their usual sparkle. Her skin was clammy and sweaty, and her hair was stuck to her forehead.
“Okay, let’s get you cleaned up,” I said, trying to sound soothing “And I’ll order some soup to be made for you. I knew that sometimes, when people were feeling nauseous, a warm bowl of soup could help settle their stomach.
Mara nodded, still looking pale. “Okay,” she whispered. Her voice was barely audible, and I had to strain to hear her.
I called for the maids to come and clean her up, and they quickly arrived with warm water and towels. They helped Mara clean her face and hands, and then they assisted her to the bed. helped them get her settled in, and then I went to the kitchen to order the soup.
She was carrying my child, and I was determined to do everything I could to take care of them both. I knew that this was a crucial time for her, and I wanted to make sure she was comfortable and happy. It was the least I could do as her mate.
We were one now.
