Chapter 120
My head was spinning as I tried to piece together everything that happened in the last few hours. I was trying to make sense of everything.
Who were these people and what the f***k did they want? Apart from my things of course. I was trying not to think light of the whole thing but this felt like the work of a petty thief no matter how hard I thought of it, someone who was just looking for an easy score.
But petty or not, they were going to regret crossing me. I was not someone they messed with and got away. I thought back to the footage I got from the cameras, they were careful enough to destroy the CCTV cameras while they still had their masks on and the rest of it was a blur.
I made a me***al note to review the footage again, this time looking for any distinguishing features that seemed familiar like their pack branding or if they were rogues, I needed a lead. And then I would start asking questions.
As I gazed at Kira’s peaceful face, I liked her so much better when she was asleep and not actively trying to ruin my life by being such a f***g pain in my groin.
My eyes drifted to the cuts on her arms. They were tiny, almost hard to see scratches, likely caused by a thorn from the bushes or asharp object on the ground she had lain on but I just couldn’t bring myself to see them as just cuts. They weren’t just cuts on her arms, they were proof that someone touched what was mine.
I could only imagine how terrified she must have been to hide underneath a car. I imagined the fear that gripped her heart, the desperation that drove her to keep herself in such a vulnerable position. What if they had decided to steal the car too? What would have happened then?
My gaze lingered on the bruises on her arm, shaped eerily like a hand. It was undoubtedly where they had gripped her, their fingers digging into her skin with a force that made my blood boil I could feel my rage summering, threatening to blow up at any moment. The thought of someone’s hands on her, holding her down, made my skin crawl.
I ran my hands through her hair tucked the strands that were bothering her away. She was completely knocked out after hawling here
reyes out like a child. I didn’t even know she was capable of crying so loudly.
The kiss, the break-in, the theft, Kira hiding under a f***g car. It had been one hell of a day. Talk about eventful.
The second I managed to peel my eyes off Kira, I quietly got up and began opening all the windows, practically begging the thieves to return and try their luck again.
I was itching for a confrontation, eager to unleash my fury on the fools that had dared to cross me. The cool evening breeze wafted in, carrying with it the scent of blooming flowers and fresh-cut grass. I breathed it in deeply, feeling my senses come alive.
I stood by the window, my eyes scanning everywhere and everything, willing that they would just come back. I had left the house earlier, and they must have known it. If they didn’t, it meant they had simply gotten lucky. But luck was a fleeting thing, and I was determined to make sure they wouldn’t be fortunate twice. Not that I would call them stealing from me luck because they chose the wrong victim
They were a lot of vacation homes around that the owners had forgotten about or probably couldn’t give two s**its about stolen properties so I’m sure they hit the jackpot all the time and it could have been the same with mine seeing as they didn’t even take much but that had to go and leave scratches on Kira. She was my most priceless possession and at the moment and I was not very forgiving
As I stood there, my mind rating with possibilities. I heard the distant sound of crickets and the occasional bark of a dog that I assumed was toothless, since it seemed to bark a lot. The neighbourhood was quiet, peaceful, and couldn’t care less about a bunch of hungry thieves.
I thought about all the posible ways I would torture them when I finally laid my hands on them. They weren’t going to be hard to find, I just needed to make sure they were just thieves first and not a distraction to get me killed. I had seen trucks like these a million times and I had never fallen for it once, it was not going to start now, I usually just let the police handle things that had to do with theft but things got personal this time
I walked out of the room, my intuition on high alert, investigating every nook and cranny like a seasoned detective. I may not have had a badge or a degree in criminology, but I had something even better my instincts. And as an alpha, I knew I wasn’t lacking in the intelligence department either. I had risen to the top of the pack through a combination of brains, brawn, not just because I was the first son like by brother Brax thought.
I sniffed around, trying to pick up any scent that might lead me to the perpetrators. But they were clever, I had to give them that. They had covered their tracks well, leaving no discernible trail for me to follow. I growled in frustration, adding to their punishment in my head.
I tried to take stock of what was missing, but it was a daunting task. I had never really taken the time to get to know this house, to familiarize myself with its contents. I had simply had it built as a retreat, a place to escape the stresses of pack life. And now, as I looked around, I realized just how little I knew about what I had
The obvious things were missing, of course – the paintings, the potteries, the other valuables that I had never really paid much attention to. But beyond that. I was at a loss. Had they taken anything else? Had they rummaged through my closets, my drawers? I didn’t know, and that ignorance was infuriating.
I prowled through the house, my senses on high alert, searching for any clue that might lead me to the thieves. But they had been thorough, leaving nothing behind but a faint sense of unease. I knew I had to do something, to take action, and I knew where exactly to start but I was I was just stalling,
I thought about calling the one person I knew was going to get the job done with ease and get me all the information that I needed. This was personal, and 1 wanted to handle it myself. I wanted to be the one to track them down, to make them for what they had done.
As I walked, my eyes scanned the room, taking in every detail. I noticed a faint scratch on the wall, a tiny mark that seemed out of place since I liked my walls spotless. I knelt down to investigate, my heart racing with excitement. Could this be the lead I needed? I looked closer and realized it was just a smudge that Kira made a few days ago.
I growled in frustration and continued to look around but it didn’t look like I was making any progress and it was getting dark already. I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down. I needed to think clearly.
Kira had mentioned that they were more than two, although she didn’t know how many they were exactly. I needed her to get up and explain herself clearly but she needed to rest too, I wondered if things would have been different if I hadn’t stormed out of the house in the morning, I know they certainly would have been because i would be cleaning dead bodies and not trying to put my things back in place because a bunch of fools were not taught to do things without making a mess
1 thought about the look she had in her eyes when she barged into my room in the morning, it was pure rage. She was definely mad about me inviting Sophia over and it felt so nice to know that she actually cared about stuff like that but I wasn’t able to enjoy that little breakthrough, not with her breasts j***g as she made her way to me in that night wear. But with that messy bun that made her look like a freaking goddess. Not with the way she stared at me.
All I could think about was taking her clothes her lips and f****ng hell, she looked so s*** her. I couldn’t hear most of what she said because I was too busy staring at
