Chapter 65
“What was the hurry, Theo?” Carmine said, irritation setting in her voice as she examined the mannequin that had adorned her wedding dress. It was her creation.
He curled his hands behind her and rested his chin on her head. “It is two days from now. That’s not ‘hurry. That’s two days late. That’s like eternity.” He gave her a k*ss on her crown, and then on the mark /
had left. When he k*ssed her there, he loved the way she shivered in his arms.
She giggled. “You’re impossible.”
They were in her studio in the shop that Carmine had recently acquired in the market square. Although most of the work was already done, because of their partner, Lake Veritos, who had funded their venture rather generously, Joseph had actually gone. overboard in making the boutique a beautiful and elegant place. And that’s why there were still scraps of furniture, fabric, wood, etc. lying everywhere.
“Oh!” Joseph entered the studio and gasped. “Carmine?”
She whipped her head back to look at him and grinned. “Joseph! I see you’ve done a lot around.” She waved at the boutique.
He narrowed his eyes at Theo. “Is he troubling you?” he said, ignoring her words.
Theo clenched his teeth, hating that Joseph even dared to ask that question. If it had been for him, he would have thrown this pesky fly out of his pack on day one.
Unbeknownst to him, his grip on Carmine tightened.
Carmine could sense anger rolling off him in waves. She placed her hand on his forearm to calm him down. “Joseph, there’s something I wanted to share with you.”
Joseph’s eyes went to Theo’s arms that were wrapped around and his face darkened further. He didn’t reply and crossed his arms across his chest, waiting for her to speak further.
Carmine’s l*ps curved into a beautiful smile. “Theo and I are getting married.”
Joseph’s eyes popped out, his face deflating like a balloon. “What?” He couldn’t believe it. “What the f uck!” He stabbed his fingers in his hair as his eyes danced between Carmine and Theo. “With him? But how? When? Like, how is this possible?”
Carmine laughed at his confused state. She k*ssed Theo on his n*eck and then stepped out of his embrace, much to his dislike. “It just happened,” she shrugged, not going into the nitty gritty of being shifters and mates. “The wedding is two days from now.”
Joseph’s mouth dropped to the floor. “Two days? That soon?”

Carmine nodded. “Two days. And you are supposed to be there. Now you have a choice
-either be the bridesmaid or walk me down the aisle along with Thor.”
“Bridesmaid?” he squeaked. “What the heck! I’m a man! I’d rather walk you down the aisle.”
Carmine burst out laughing. “Thank Go d! It’s hard to picture you in a long gown with flowers in your hair.”
“Come here!” Joseph said tenderly. When she went to him, he hugged her tightly. wever, the moment he hugged her, he felt the temperature of the room rising.
“Congratulations!” he said to her. “If you are happy, then I see no reason you should stop yourself. Though I hoped I would marry you one day.” And then his eyes went to Theo. The man looked like he was about to murder him. His face darkened and if steam could escape, it would have been whistling from his ears.
Joseph released Carmine and the moment he did that, Theo yanked her back in his arms and grabbed her waist possessively, as if to make a statement that this woman belonged to him. “How beastly!” Joseph murmured. He turned his attention to Carmine. “I am going to design your wedding gown, okay?”
Carmine sighed. “I hope you do. My mind isn’t working and I feel there are so many things for me to do. I just want to look good!
“Baby, you would look good if you wore dirt on your b*dy. I don’t care.” Theo said, tilting his head to the side to look at her.
She pursed her l*ps and smacked his chest. “You are biased. But this is about first. impressions and all.”
He shrugged. “I don’t care. You would be my Luna and the first lady of this pack.”
“Umm… what is Luna and what is a pack?” Joseph asked. “Are you guys wolves?” he laughed dismissively.
Carmine froze. “Old traditions,” she stated.
“Ah! Okay.” Joseph rubbed his hands excitedly and walked to the wedding dress. “I believe a lot has to be done. Annndddd-” he glanced at Carmine. “You can’t meet him
tomorrow.”
Once again, Theo had a murderous look on his face. “What do you mean?” he growled menacingly. “What are you going to do with her? How dare you even say that?” Theo was an Alpha wolf with raging testosterone who never took orders from anyone and no one questioned him. Nob*dy dared to speak in his presence, everyone was extremely cautious. The only three people who could speak with him casually were Carmine,

Joseph winced. “This is a tradition, hulk,” he scoffed. “The groom can’t meet the wife a day before the wedding!”
Theo’s eyebrows furrowed so hard that they looked like two slashes. “This tradition is old and obsolete. So Carmine is going to stay with me.” certain that Joseph was a bad influence, he gripped Carmine’s hand and led her out from the boutique.
Carmine stifled her laugh. Her mate was like a big baby. She stopped him. “Theo, he’s right. That a tradition followed in-“she bit her tongue before spilling out ‘human world.”-in his world.”
Giving her a dubious look, Joseph said, “Yes, so she’s going to stay in the cottage tomorrow. I’ll pick them up in the evening.”
Theo was so enraged that he bared his teeth at Joseph, making him practically jump. “This tradition doesn’t work in my land, you understand?”
Joseph jerked his head back. “What do you mean ‘my land? We all pay taxes here and. so it is also our land. You better stop going all alpha/mafia here!”
“I mean what I say,” Theo snarled, jealousy stabbing him like thin and sharp shards. “This entire area is my land. I am its owner.
Joseph stiffened as he gawked at Theo. “You mean this Gold Moon town is your estate? Go ds above! I saw a herd of deer running in the surrounding forest.”
Carmine smacked her head with her fingers. “Enough of this,” she said. “I’ll do what I want to do, so both of you, quit it!” Saying that, she stormed out of the door, shaking her head angrily.
When she sat in the car, Theo was already at the steering wheel. He had gripped the steering so hard that his knuckles were white. “I am not letting you stay at the cottage. You get it,” he growled. “You will stay with me in this pack. If you threaten to leave me for a day, I am calling off this marriage because we are already mated and marked. This wedding is just an official statement for the Alphas and the pack members who are under me.”
Carmine sighed. “Alpha Theo, let’s go to your home now.”
“It’s our home, not your home.” He revved the engine and sped towards the house.
As soon as they got down, he rushed to her and grabbed her hand. “I am not letting you go anywhere,” he reminded her. “You will stay right here with me.”
The anger, sadness and misery that rolled through the bond made her freeze in her

He leaned in her hand. Saying nothing, he took her to the bedroom. Closing the door. behind him, he slammed his l*ps on hers and back-walked her to the bed. He removed her dress and threw it to the ground before undressing himself and guiding her onto the bed. Gliding up her b*dy, he rammed deep inside her.
Soon, she was moaning and writhing, seeking the friction. He grabbed her wrists and. pinned them above her head with one of his hands and dipped his head to his mark on her pulse point. Suddenly, he fl*pped her onto her belly, pulled her as s in the air, spread her as s-checks and rammed his co ck back inside her.
The intensity of his thrusting caused her to cry out in org asm within seconds. Shel heard him say her name. “Carmine. My only. Mine…”
As he rammed inside her, his c ock felt like it would be ripped. The crown started expanding. It knotted, bursting inside her with his hot c um. He wasn’t over, because he picked her up in his lap and slammed his coc k inside her once again. “Do you know when a wolf knots?” he asked her, his l*ps brushing her ear.
“No!” she breathed, stars bursting in her vision. Was he trying to make her submit to his decision by punishing her with one or gasm after the other?
“A wolf knots only in his mate,” he growled, nipping her mark. “I’ve found you. Carmine. I won’t let you go!” And then his co ck swelled into another knot. “Ever!” He
came.
