Claimed by the Alpha Luna’s Awakening by Misha k Chapter 38
Chapter 38
Sloane grinned when she saw Theo and Carmine coming in. Carmine’s hair was messed up, and she had this look on her face that explained everything. Her eyes were heavy- lidded and her skin was flushed. Theo went to the wolves as he watched Carmine going to where Sioane was sitting.
“You have that silly smile on your face, Alpha Theo,” Winn chuckled, pointing his knife. at his face.
“F uck you!” Theo said in a gruff voice that didn’t carry any anger. He watched over his shoulder to look at Carmine, who was giggling with Sloane. His mate looked like an angel brought on the earth by the Moon Goddess. He felt a warm sensation wash over him as he gently rubbed his chest. “Did you find out about her origins?” he asked, suddenly remembering about it.
“Jordan is at it,” he said.
Theo raised his eyebrow at Jordan, indicating him to speak.
Jordan shook his head. “Honestly, I have tried everything, Alpha Theo,” he said in a defeated voice. “She isn’t the biological daughter of her rogue parents. That’s for sure. You said that her adoptive parents found in a thicket near the Red Moon pack, so I went. there and checked the records way back up to twenty-three years, but there’s no mention of an abandoned pup.”
He let out a rough exhale. “It’s like she came out of nowhere!”
“I did some deep research on the history of werewolves,” Oz said. Oz had done his high school from werewolf community college with a history major. At twenty-five, he was one of the most well-read.
“And?” Theo asked, his brows drawn to a slash.
Oz glided a can of beer to him and when Theo caught it, he said, “She is a rare wolf. The golden tips of her hair-are they artificial or real?”
“They are real. She cut them a while back and within a few hours, the edges became. golden all over again,” Theo informed. “Thor has inherited them.” He remembered their conversation at Nolan’s coffee shop, in which she said that her features differed vastly from her father.
“That I noticed,” Oz mused. He tilted his head as his eyes went to Carmine’s hair. “So I did a bit of research and all I could find was that a very rare bloodline of wolves had golden-tipped hair. Legend has it that these werewolves trace their lineage back to a mystical event during a rare celestial alignment. During this alignment, powerful celestial forces came to earth. The force I am talking about is Moon Goddess. She had

come to visit the first generation of werewolves thousands of years ago. When she met the Alpha of the pack, his wife had just given birth to their pup. She infused him with unique traits, marking him as protector of the werewolf realm.”
Theo and others listened to Oz with rapt attention. Giggles of the two girls filled the room other than his voice. Sloane was showing Carmine pictures in an album, keeping her busy.
Oz sipped his beer and continued, “Over the years, the bloodline got wiped away. About a hundred years ago, there was a recorded instance of a werewolf with golden tipped
hair.
“If that is true, Carmine is moon-blessed!” Theo said in a low, raspy voice.
“Yes!” Oz breathed. “The distinctive hair pattern is a symbol of their celestial connection, and it sets them apart from other werewolves. Their abilities reach their peak during the blood moon, enhancing their strength, speed, and senses, making them. formidable opponents. While the male pups are alpha pups, the female werewolves are bound to give birth to male alpha pups. And so the birth of female pups is even rarer. The bloodline was wiped out partly because male werewolves mostly married she- wolves with diluted bloodlines.”
A stunned silence fell over all of them, a seed of nervousness settled in Theo’s stomach, burrowing deeper to set its roots. He tried to yank it away, but it seemed to make a home. If all that was true, his mate was precious, like a treasure. She was so delicate that his breath lodged in his throat, thinking that she was in harm’s way all her life until he got her back. He clenched his teeth so hard to stop them from chattering that it was a miracle his fangs didn’t cra ck. A sudden realization hit him. Was Kade after Carmine. because he was aware of the myth about moon-blessed werewolves?
“In that case, she surely has parents who are into hiding. You have to do something to find out about them,” Theo ordered. “And don’t mention about her to anyone. I want this investigation to be as quiet as possible. You get that?”
“Yes Alpha!”
“Don’t tell Carmine also about it. Keep it discreet.”
Winn looked at his boys and through his mind link gave them strict orders not to reveal
it to anyone.
“I want you all to keep a watch on Alpha Kade,” Theo added. Until now, only two people. knew Carmine was his mate-Winn and Scarlet. With Scarlet in the dungeons, het wasn’t sure if he could trust her anymore. “What is the news about Scarlet?”
“She is pis sed, and she wants to come out, saying she has a secret that she wants to trade,” Winn informed.

Theo narrowed his eyes. “I will talk to her tonight.” His eyes went to Carmine.
“There’s one thing I would like to know, Alpha,” Oz said. “Why can’t we sense her wolf?”
Theo chu gg ed down his beer, wiped his mouth, and growled, “That’s none of your
concern.”
Oz winced. In a low voice, he added, “Her strength will manifest only when her wolf is out. I am surprised that she is so petite.”
Carmine had always been evasive about his questions regarding her wolf. It was high time he found out about he
wolf.
Sloane pointed at a picture and giggled, and Carmine joined her. “He’s so cute!”
Sloane closed the album and sighed. “You know, I am so glad that we are friends now. I -” she looked at her brother, who was still talking to his group. Alpha Theo was deeply engrossed in his conversation. “I guess Alpha Theo never looked at me with interest. I mean, the way he looks at you…”
When Sloane was cursing Carmine about her closeness with Alpha Theo, Winn had revealed that she was his mate and made her promise never to reveal it until Alpha Theo signaled. The information had shocked her to the roots, but over the last few days, she had come to terms with it.
Carmine placed a hand on her forearm. “We are still exploring our relationship. I don’t know why Alpha Theo is interested in me, but I feel equally drawn to him.”
Sloane’s eyes widened. Did Carmine not know that she was Theo’s mate? She bit her tongue, horrified. “I see!”
“Carmine!” Theo called her. “We have to pick up Thor from school, love.”
