Claimed by the Alpha Luna’s Awakening by Misha k Chapter 26
Chapter 26
Scarlet’s best friend, Charlie, an omega, pulled her to her room and closed the door behind.
“What the hell do you think you are doing, Scarlet?” Charlie hissed. “Why are you treating that b itch with so much respect? She is the reason you were about to be thrown. in the dungeons. The way you are acting, it’s like you want her to be the Luna of the pack, like you are offering this position to her on a platter!”
Scarlet sighed. Charlie was the only one in whom she confided her problems, but then also she never told Charlie that Carmine was Alpha Theo’s mate. “I know what I am doing, girl,” she said as she sat on her bed and curled her knees beneath her. She picked up a pillow and hugged it with a face full of misery. “When Alpha Theo asked her to stay here and ordered me to be thrown in the dungeons, I knew she was going to win.” She looked away with tears pooling in her eyes. “Did you see how he ran after her to drop her pup to the school?”
“Yes, I saw. But don’t be so calm about it,” she argued, with shock in her eyes. “After all, we omegas are banking on you. We all want you to be the Luna of the pack. When you asked for my help in clearing the manor last night and ensuring that no ser vant was here, I did that for you, didn’t I?
Scarlet let out a sad chuckle. It was important for her to keep the sad façade even as she concocted ideas to throw Carmine out of the pack. “You’ve been a darling, Charlic,” she said. This was the time she needed all the support from her and the rest of the omegas, and that was why she had to manipulate them as much as she could. “But now is the time to make up with her. I can’t go against her because, obviously, Alpha Theo has a soft heart for her.”
“Well then, make a plan!” Charlie almost shouted.
Scarlet laughed, but then the laugh didn’t reach her eyes. “There is no plan, dear. I will just have to bear her until she leaves on her own.”
Charlie gritted her teeth. “Then we are going to help you in making her leave this place!”
After Theo dropped Thor to the school, where he ignored everyone’s bewildered expressions, he took Carmine to his favorite coffee shop, which was in the center of the town. It was carly hours of the morning and the owner had just opened the shop. He was adjusting the alfresco when they arrived.
“Good morning, Alpha!” he said, astonished, while glancing at Carmine.

“Good morning. Nolan!” Theo replied enthusiastically as he placed his hand on the small of her back and guided her to the nearest chair. He couldn’t help giving a co cky smile because he had his mate in tow. “Get one cup of black coffee and one latte.”
“Right up, Alpha!” Nolan ran inside excitedly. Alpha Theo had never brought a woman. to his shop. Hell, Alpha Theo never ever strolled around town with a woman. The only she-woif he ever allowed to come near her was Scarlet, but that was for business
purposes.
Carmine was surprised. “How do you know I like latte?” she asked, sitting down as he held the chair for her.
He grinned and sat opposite to her. “Because I’ve seen you having it many times at the shop.”
She raised her eyebrow. “You noticed?”
“Of course,” he shrugged, as if that was a stu pid question. They chatted a little more about the weather, and then he leaned over to ask her a serious question. “There’s something I would like to ask you.”
Carmine blinked her eyes as her breath lodged in her throat. Was he going to ask about
Kade? “Sure.”
“Thor smells like a wolf, so I know that he’s the pup of a werewolf.” It pained him to speak like that about Thor because he wanted to declare that Thor was his pup. But if he did that, he was sure that Carmine would simply freak out. She wasn’t an average she-wolf who would jump at the opportunity like a gold digger. It was proven when she said that she wanted to stay away from Alpha Kade when that wolf could have given her the riches of the world as his mistress. But no. His Carmine was far from that s hit. She loved her dignity and respect too much, to the extent she hid herself well in the human world to earn her living in a dignified way.
Carmine clenched her jaws as she lowered her face. She didn’t know what he was getting at, but she waited for him to speak further.
“But why is it I can’t sense your wolf?”
She gasped and turned her face away, feeling miserable about it.
He placed a hand on hers and squeezed it gently. “If you don’t want to speak about it,
it’s okay.” He felt like a do uche for asking this question because now he could sense her heartbeat spi king up.
She shook her head. “I-I don’t want to talk about it…” she said in a low voice..
“That’s fine,” he immediately added. “We won’t!”

She let out a rough exhale and bit her bottom l*p.
But now Theo was getting more and more interested in her past. “Can you tell me something about your family? Who are your parents?”
n
Carmine knew that this was something she shouldn’t hide from him even if he would hate her after this. “My parents were rogues,” she replied with her head lowered to her lap. She began fidgeting with her finger. “They abandoned me.”
“Whoa!” Theo was taken aback. “Why did they abandon you?”
She blinked away her tears. “I-I don’t know, but I guess I was not theirs. Often, my stepmother, Anne, used to say that they found me abandoned in a thicket near the Red. Moon pack, but when they went to return me to the pack, nob*dy owned me, so…” She was relieved to see that there was no hatred in his eyes.
“But you said that Anne is your stepmother. That means your father is your real father.”
Nolan came with coffee and a basket of various types of bread. He breathed excitedly. “That’s on the house, Alpha!”
“Thanks Nolan,” Theo nodded and returned his attention to Carmine. Nolan understood he had to leave and so he turned sharply to leave.

Carmine pursed her l*ps. “I am not sure, but I feel like I am not their pup. I mean, at me. My hair is golden tipped and my father’s weren’t. I didn’t resemble him at all. He had brown eyes and light brown hair. He was shorter than most rogues. I could point out many differences, but then what’s the use? It’s not like I could find my actual parents. They chose to-” her throat choked. “They chose to abandon me,” she continued in a h oa rse voice.
“I-I am so sorry,” Theo said. “If you like, we can find them.” And now he understood why she worked so hard to stay with respect in the society. Because of Thor. Had she
stayed in the werewolf world, they wou’ve labeled her as a rogue bi tch and her son a
ba stard. His chest again swelled with pride and love for his mate.
She chuckled. “I don’t want to. They never loved me.”
Theo picked up his coffee mug. “I refuse to believe that.” He handed her the coffee mug. “Maybe they were compelled to leave you.” His eyes went to her golden tipped. hair, which was glinting in the rays of sun that fell over them. Carmine looked… surreal. She was definitely not an ordinary wolf. There was something about her aura that made her different from the rest.
She laughed and sipped her coffee. “Which parent leaves their pup? It’s stu pid!”
But Theo decided to find out about her because she intrigued him.

They went back to the manor where she went to her room. “See you in an hour for breakfast!” Theo said, as if he wasn’t asking.
Her l*ps curled up. “See you.”
Theo couldn’t wait for an hour. He took a quick bath, took out ten formal shirts to choose which one to wear, and eventually wore a black polo and jeans. He had shampooed his hair and used a dryer to dry them. However, they looked wind-blown. So he applied gel to them. To his disappointment, they resembled the back of a porcupine in its defensive mode. Upset as hell that he was looking repulsive, he plopped on his bed. He still had forty-five minutes. “Da mn it!” He should’ve given her fifteen minutes only. It was impossible to stay without her.
After taking a bath, when Carmine went down to the dining room, she wasn’t ready to face another one of Scarlet’s dramas.
She heard loud sniffles and so bs emanating from Scarlet’s room and Theo hadn’t come
yet.
