Claimed by the Alpha Luna’s Awakening by Misha k Chapter 24

Chapter 24

Kade was staring with wide eyes at Carmine. When he came to a stop, his gaze drifted. to Scarlet, who was on her knees and sobbing. When he had gone to her room, she wasn’t there. The window on the right was broken. It meant that she had escaped.

Anger blasted in his chest, and he darted to the window. She must have jumped down. and escaped. Kade followed her as he sniffed her scent all the way, but her scent faded by the time he reached the main gate of the mansion. He couldn’t even ask the guards whether they had seen Carmine because there were so many people coming in and going out that they wouldn’t have known. Besides, he didn’t want to raise the alarm.

He returned to the ballroom only to find that Scarlet wasn’t there. With fury bubbling in his chest, he wanted to inform her that Carmine had escaped. He traced Scarlet’s scent till here and the scene unfolding in front of him was not good.

As soon as Theo saw Kade, his chest vibrated with a rumble. “What are you doing here?” he almost snarled.

“I had come for Scarlet. My Luna, Ruby, was asking for her,” he lied through his teeth, S~ᴇaʀᴄh the Find_Nøvel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Scared that Kade might spill the beans, Scarlet sobbed louder in order to distract Theo’s attention. “Please don’t throw me in the dungeons! I will be Carmine’s sla ve for the rest of my life!”

Carmine bit her bottom l*p. “There’s no necessity for that,” Carmine said, feeling extremely awkward. Scarlet’s s obs were the only sound amidst the silence of the wolves.

“Then you can simply leave this pack!” Theo growled even louder.

Scarlet crawled to Theo. “No, my Alpha, no. This is the only pack I’ve known that has been good to me. If you throw me out, the rogues would kill me. I’m asking for your forgiveness.” She looked at Carmine. “Please, dear.”

“I” Carmine started to speak, when Kade’s growl stopped her.

In a flash of a second, he came beside Scarlet and picked her up in his arms. “You people are cruel. Can’t you see how weak she is? If you can’t keep her, I will take her with me!”

Seeing Kade taking care of someone who was his loyalist, Theo snapped. “No need, Alpha Kade. We can take care of our wolves.”

Kade stopped and nodded once before taking Scarlet towards the mansion, where he walked all the way to the rooms on the first floor, which were occupied by the Beta and other warriors. Scarlet’s was one of them.

Carmine watched Kade with shock, enveloping her like a sudden gust of wind, biting through the layers of her composure. She locked eyes with Scarlet and noticed her smirk, which vanished in an instant.

Reality dawned upon her when she saw that several other omegas had gathered at a distance and they watched her as if she was the villain in this situation.

“Let me take you up to the room,” Theo said softly to her, as he placed his hand on the small of her back, snapping her out of her reverie. “Thor needs ‘rest.”

She nodded to quickly escape the situation. This time, Theo led her to a different guestroom.

“M-my room is on the other side…” she explained to him.

His brows drew together. “No, this is your room,” he informed her because this was the one he had in mind for her. It was not very near to his, nor was it very far. His room opened just after the landing and covered the entire line. He assigned Carmine a room which was on the right side of the rail where he could see her and keep a watch on her.

She tucked a strand of her hair behind her car as a blush rose to her cheeks. She had guessed that the bigger room right in front of the landing was his.

He opened the door for her. The whole mansion was luxurious, and she had held herself from oohing and aahing. But she couldn’t hold her gasp this time. It was less a room and more a suite. There was a sitting area with a fireplace. An enormous four- poster bed was in the center, with an adjoining bathroom. The place was bigger than her apartment.

“Thanks. I’m going to keep Thor confined in this room until I am here. It’ll be easier for him to adjust.” And it would prevent him from breaking expensive furniture.

“Why?” he frowned as he guided her inside. “Thor can go anywhere he likes. In fact, if you like, you can take a tour of the house. Have you eaten anything? Should I send someone with dinner?”

Her l*ps curved up wistfully. “It was a long day, Alpha Theo. If it’s okay with you, I will put Thor to sleep and take a hot shower and sleep.” After jumping down from the window, she had run across the wet lawns to run out of the premises of the manor. She called Joseph to get Thor in a car as she walked towards her home, keeping a watch on her back. Joseph expressed great surprise and bombarded her with many questions, but she assured him she would explain everything the next day. She met with Joseph on her way back. She took Thor from him and returned to the mansion to speak with Alpha Theo. However, what happened next explained everything.

“Sure, I will leave you. But…” he hesitated. “I apologize for Scarlet’s behavior towards you,” Theo said, observing as she laid Thor on the bed and covered him with a blanket.

“It’s fine. I think you should give Scarlet another chance,” she replied. Except it wasn’t fine. She realized Scarlet was like a viper in the den and not an angel she posed to be. No one knew how vicious she was.

There was no reason for Scarlet to be so wicked with her. She wasn’t only terrible with her, she was manipulative. She groveled on the ground at Alpha Theo’s feet to beg his forgiveness.

Theo offered her a smile. “You are very kind. I’ll leave you alone. For now. And I will send dinner for you. You can’t sleep eating nothing.” Saying that, he went out of the door and closed it slowly while watching her intensely.

As soon as the door was shut, Carmine tried to control her emotions. Till the time Carmine was here, she had to be very careful of Scarlet. She needed to strategize and be alert to foil Scarlet’s plans against her, if any. Staying safe with her pup until the initiation ceremony was her priority. But why was Scarlet against her?

The day that started with a promise could’ve had turned into a nightmare if she hadn’t reached Alpha Theo in time. She wished that her wolf Ember resurfaced. She really missed Ember. However, as if Ember listened to her, something inside her stirred. Carmine’s breath hitched, and she placed her hand on her racing heart. She chucklęd excitedly and focused on Ember, but her wolf receded again. Defeated, Carmine dragged herself to the bathroom to take a bath.

Though Theo went to his room, sleep was far away from him. With his mate so close to him, all he could think of was, her. Her sweet scent washed all over him, making him dizzy. He was rock hard and his wolf was growling on the inside to go to his mate. Only one thigh could help him, and it was shifting into his wolf. So he went to the woods surrounding the Gold Moon pack, shifted, and ran for hours. Just before morning, het returned and went straight to his room, knowing that Carmine was sleeping.

When Carmine emerged from her room, she was with Thor, who was chirping away to glory about his new room. Cautiously, she headed towards the main hall and to the exit to drop Thor to his new school. The place was buzzing with activity, but as soon as she entered, everyone stopped talking and stared at her. Scarlet was giving instructions to the omegas. But once their eyes locked, Carmine noticed the guilt in her expression.

“C-Carmine!” Scarlet rushed to her. “Please forgive my insolence. I should’ve attended

first!”

to you

Carmine stifled an urge to roll her eyes. Not again.
