ay the tears on Luna’s face with her hands. She noticed Luna’s braids were loose and
“Yes, that’s correct. Keira gently wiped away helped her braid them again.
Luna looked at herself in the mirror and almost jumped with excitement. Mommy made me look so pretty!
Keira turned to the butler, saying, “Mr. Cruz, I need your help to arrange the bodyguards and transportation. I plan to bring them to the farmer’s market in the city outskirts to buy some fruit and vegetable seeds.”
“It’s best not to attract too much attention there, so I hope you can arrange for the bodyguards to dress casually and keep the vehicles low–key.”
Mr. Cruz had much to say but was left speechless by Keira’s arrangements. When he left the room, he felt like he was floating
in the air.
Previously, Keira could be described as unpleasant and often tormented the household staff to find fault. As the butler, he had never been spared from her wrath. Even the bodyguards were often verbally abused by her. She called them lackeys owned by the Byrom family and accused them of spying on her. She even claimed Victor was a stalker.
Everyone knew Keira was sneaking out to meet her old lover, but to avoid angering her, Victor never asked them to follow her again. Even for her safety, they could only secretly follow her from afar.
When Landon informed him about the matter, Mr. Cruz prepared a lot of words to persuade Keira to bring bodyguards or wait for Victor to return before going out. However, he did not expect his preparations to be unnecessary.
Seeing the dazed expression on the butler’s face, Keira could not help but feel guilty about the psychological scars she caused
them.
Keira left the house with the children.
The butler’s arrangement was impeccable. The only bodyguard accompanying them also acted as their driver, ensuring their safety when necessary. The vehicle was modified, appearing ordinary on the outside, but the interior was remarkably spacious. Hence, the children sat with Keira in the back.
Since being cradled by Keira, Luna had no intention of letting go. Meanwhile, Landon, glancing at Lucien and then at the gentle Keira, found himself torn. He silently scooted closer to Keira, sitting next to her.
Lucien, on the other hand, remained silent throughout the journey. He sat at the side and gazed out the window while Luna and Keira chatted
The roads in the city outskirts were bumpy. Even though the car was modified for such roads, it still jolted and shook. The vehicle swayed slightly, and inertia propelled the three children forward.
Keira immediately tightened her hold on Luna while stretching her arm to embrace Landon and Lucien on the other side. As Lucien was a bit far, she could only shield his head, accidentally hitting her hand on the car window with a resounding ‘thud.
“You.” Lucien instinctively turned to Keira upon hearing the sound. His initially cold eyes were now filled with concern. “Are you okay?”
Keira didn’t expect the small gesture to elicit such a significant reaction from the usually indifferent Lucien. So, while protecting him, she gently caressed his head and lightly rubbed his earlobe with her fingertips. She said softly, Tm fine, Lucien Don’t be afraid.”
Sering the emotions lingering in Lucien’s eyes, Keira thought he might have been frightened and felt a pang of tenderness in
‘Come closer and hold my hand, Lucien. Don’t be scared.” She vaguely remembered her mother doing this when she was frightened as a child.
Unexpectedly, Keira’s gentle comfort made Lucien’s earlobes turn pink. He looked away awkwardly. “I’m not scared at all.
Meanwhile, Landon felt content as he rested securely in Keira’s embrace. He cheerfully exclaimed. “Mommy, Lucien is worried about you!”

Keira didn’t expect this possibility and widened her eyes when she heard Landon’s words. She smiled and looked at Lucien.
“So that’s it.”
Her voice was gentle and especially calming in the confines of the car.
Ti not” Lucien pursed his lips. His face turned even redder,
Unhappy that his elder brother had drawn away his mother’s attention, Landon, nestled in Keira’s embrace, rolled his eyes. His cheerful expression suddenly scrunched. He pouted and looked at Keira with teary eyes. “Mommy, I’m scared too. Can you cuddle me?”
As he spoke, he latched onto Keira’s sleeve, looking at her pitifully, like a little puppy waiting for its owner’s affection.
“Okay, I’ll cuddle you.” Seeing the road had become smooth, Keira, with one arm holding Luna, reluctantly withdrew the hand she had placed on Lucien’s ear and gently rubbed Landon’s earlobe. As Keira removed her hand from his ear, Lucien’s gaze out the window dimmed slightly.
Meanwhile, Luna pouted and kicked her legs impatiently. “Mommy, I want cuddles too! I want cuddles!”
Watching his mother, who had barely cuddled him, turned to comfort his younger sister, Landon glared at Luna with resentment. Unexpectedly, his usually docile younger sister stared at him back as if to say, “What are you looking at?” “Mommy, what kind of seeds will we buy?” Luna snuggled in Keira’s arms, blinking her big, crystal–like eyes.
“Well, that depends on what my darlings like to eat.” Keira got out of the car with the children, and the bodyguards, bearing the subtle marks of the Byrom family, had already arrived at the market earlier and blended in with the crowd.
She held Luna and Landon on either side while Lucien resumed his aloof expression and stood alone.
“Lucien, can you help me hold Luna’s hand? I might be unable to carry everything when we start shopping later.” Keira sought Lucien’s assistance with a pleading gaze.
Lucien tilted his head and confirmed the truth of Keira’s words before walking to Luna indifferently and holding Luna’s other hand.
“Luna likes strawberries! Lucien said suddenly,
Thank you for telling me, Lucien Let’s find some strawberry seedlings!” Keira walked with the children, asking, “What about you two? What do you like to eat?
“L. I like to eat sunflower seeds!” Landon quickly raised his hand.
“Oh, I see. How about we buy some sunflower seeds? We can grow sunflowers ourselves and make our sunflower seeds!” Keira suggested.
“Yay!” Landon jumped up happily.
On the other hand, Lucien glanced at Landon, saying coldly, “Your front teeth are almost worn out from eating sunflower seeds, and you still want to eat them? The housekeeper said we’re about to start losing our baby teeth. We mustn’t eat recklessly.
Lucien paused before adding, “Unless you want to look like a mouse with half of your front teeth broken.”
Although Lucien maintained an aloof demeanor, his last sentence was practically a threat.
Upon hearing the last sentence, Landon, who had been skipping happily, suddenly burst into tears. “Lucien is bullying me!”
