After the conversation with my parents I felt my heart lost, I liked Louis, but at the same time I didn't want to invest in him and in two weeks I could meet my mate and need to break up with him, he wouldn't understand, and everything would be even more difficult.

I thought about my parents, how my father rejected my mother even though he loved her, to protect her, maybe I was protecting him.

Maybe it would be easier to ignore him.

But I didn't imagine it would be so difficult, Louis sent me messages all day, I tried to ignore it and he started calling me, I thought about blocking him, but I couldn't, after the 100th call, I decided to answer.

"Hello."

"Ellie, what happened?" His voice melted inside me, it was as if I needed to hear it, at that moment I regretted having answered.

"I don't know Louis, maybe we shouldn't see each other anymore."

"What are you talking about? This morning you said you liked me..."

"I like." The words came out on their own.

"Then why? I already want to see you again."

"It is complicated..."

"Actually we are simple..."

He was right, we were simple.

We were natural.

It was as if it were meant to be.

Why couldn't Louis be a wolf?

"I want to see you..."

"Louis, I can't leave the company..." It was true.

"Why?"

I couldn't even respond...

"I'll explain later, I need to hang up..."

I hung up before I could say anything, with Louis it was so easy that I ended up talking without even thinking, I was afraid of saying something I shouldn't have.

Over the next few days I talked to him all the time, and I ended up inventing that my father had promised me to the son of a businessman in the complex and wouldn't let me leave, Louis asked if we were in 1910, but he still continued talking to me, and we had plans to see each other, I needed to wait at least for the Ball to pass, which I knew would be another one without my mate.

But what if it wasn't?

I spent the rest of the week helping my parents organize the wedding ceremonies and talking to Louis the whole time, I missed him so much that I felt my heart sink.

How could I feel this way about a human?

And the big day of the ceremony arrived, Jaque was getting ready with me, the guests had already started to arrive, and I was finishing putting on my body-hugging red and satin dress when I received a message from Louis.

"The hot human again?" Jaque asked smiling.

"Uhm." I replied while opening the message.

Come meet me at the reserve

WHAT?

I am here waiting you.

I couldn't believe it, I called him and Louis answered me right away.

"Louis, what's this a joke? Where are you?"

"I'm in reserve, I received a message from your father's company that they wouldn't sign anything today due to a party, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to come see you, the security guards should be more flexible today, right?"

I didn't believe it, had he really done this?

What was I doing now?

"Louis is in reserve, he wants to come in..." I said to Jaque holding the phone's speaker.

"What? Are you crazy Ellie? Bringing a human into the Pack?"

I was?

But it would be the perfect opportunity for the guards not to notice.

"Send me your location. I'm on my way." I told him and hung up before regretting what I had done.

"Ellie..." Jaque tried to warn me. "The guests are arriving, what do I say to your parents?"

"Say I went to resolve an unforeseen issue, I'll be back before they notice... Please, sis..."

I looked at Jaque and she shook her head laughing.

"Hurry up, before I regret it." She said patting my ass, as I grabbed my car keys and left.

I tried to use the people coming in and out of the house so I could disguise myself in the crowd and sneak out, on any other day it would have been impossible.

I felt my heart beating inside my head, I felt butterflies in my stomach, and I was shaking so much that I could barely put the key in the car, I drove as fast as I could while trying to track his location through the message.

But then I finally saw him...

And I lost it when I saw Louis standing outside his car with a bouquet of flowers in his hand, wearing a tuxedo.

It was the most beautiful scene I had ever seen in my life.

I got out of the car without being able to say anything, I just ran towards him, and with each step I felt my chest fill, my heart fill and I became whole again. Our bodies collided and his lips came to meet mine, and I just didn't want to let go of him ever again...
