Cherished By Seven Sisters

Chapter 961

Chapter 961 Nothing Between Us
Thus, Emrys mulled it over, tentatively asking, “Sylvia?”
“Hmph, so you’re finally willing to admit it, aren’t you? And you dare to say you didn’t mess around? Emrys, you’ve really crossed
the line!” Cordelia seemed to have seized Emrys‘ tail, relentlessly venting her anger.
Emrys was on the verge of tears. “I didn’t! Cordelia, you’ve made it so obvious. Who else could it be but Sylvia? However, I
assure you, there’s nothing between us.”
When did Sylvia become my lover? I admit, the first time I met Sylvia, there was some misunderstanding, but that was because I
mistook her for Ninette. As for that incident at Sword King Sect, it was clearly Sylvia who first attempted to unmask me. She was
the one who initiated the conflict, so how did the blame end up on my shoulders? Moreover, why on earth should I be held
accountable for the reckless actions of that outlaw, Tigger? What is this skewed logic— I mean, reason! Emrys frowned.
“You? Innocent? Ha!” Cordelia was being quite unreasonable, and she believed a beautiful woman like her needn’t care to be
reasonable.
She chuckled at Emrys, her tone laced with annoyance. “Just tell me if you have time or not?”
Emrys knew he couldn’t explain things clearly over the phone. Cordelia, a jealous type, could be terrifying when his jealousy was
triggered. She was the classic case of someone who appeared aloof on the outside but was intensely passionate within.
Emrys stated, “I honestly don’t have any time. There’s a really urgent matter waiting for me to attend to.”
“What’s the matter?”
“National matter.”
“Good luck to you!”
Feeling a wave of irritation, Cordelia ended the call with a sense of resentment.
Then, she went to the living room and said to Sylvia, “That jerk claimed he’s too busy with national affairs, probably won’t make it
to your wedding!”
“Oh...” The light in Sylvia’s eyes dimmed instantly.

Upon seeing that, Cordelia felt her irritation with Emrys grow. “Ms. Morris, that unworthy man doesn’t deserve you. You don’t
need to keep him on your mind like this!”
“I didn’t...”
“You don’t need to explain. We’re both women. I understand how you feel.”
“Could it be that you also...”
“Nonsense. I have absolutely no interest in that jerk of a man!”
Sylvia frowned slightly. But I haven’t said anything yet!
conversation die just like that, she posed a question, “Ms. Morris, you seem quite taken with that scoundrel. Did he deceive you
in, way?”
“No... No, he didn’t.” Upon hearing those words, Sylvia immediately blushed.
Soon after, she spoke with a hint of sorrow, “Actually, nothing happened between Emrys and I. The issue lies with me.”
“With you?” Cordelia didn’t immediately understand the meaning of those words.
Sylvia nodded, admitting, “It’s my own issue. It’s my... one–sided affection for him. I’m aware that he has never had feelings for
me.”
For the first time, Sylvia admitted her affection for Emrys.
Previously, she had no idea what it felt like to be in love with someone.
Perhaps influenced by Ameera, she came to view affection as the cheapest thing there was. In her eyes, there were only
everlasting benefits, but never everlasting affection.
She believed that no matter how deep the affection, time would eventually dilute it, so it would be better to choose a man who
could offer more support.
Sylvia had been influenced by that way of thinking since her childhood. As a result, she was never quite sure what it felt like to
be fond of someone, nor did she believe that she would ever develop such feelings for a person.

Ameera directed her to form relationships with whomever she chose, and she did just so. The concept of liking someone didn’t
even come into play.
Initially, getting close to Emrys was indeed in accordance with Ameera’s wishes.
Then, later on, Emrys lost his abilities. Under normal circumstances, Sylvia would definitely not approach Emrys again, and
Ameera would not possibly support her in doing so.
Yet, the reality was, every so often, she would find herself thinking about Emrys.
