Chapter 959
Chapter 959 Invite Emrys To My Wedding Banquet
Regardless of whether it was in the mundane world or on Mount Kushburn and whether one was an ordinary person or a
cultivator, getting married was always a cause for great joy and celebration, deserving a grand treatment.
“His name is Zephyr Lestrange, and he’s a member of the secret clan families,” Sylvia replied.
Noticing the puzzled expression on Cordelia’s face, she realized that the latter might not understand the concept of the secret
clan, so she further explained. “The status of the secret clan families on Mount Kushburn is equivalent to that of wealthy noble
families in the mundane world.”
With that explanation, Cordelia immediately understood. Enviously, she remarked, “That’s quite impressive. A man who could
win your affections must be extraordinarily outstanding, right, Ms. Morris?”
“Indeed. He’s exceptionally outstanding!”
“Then, you must really love him.”
Sylvia paused for a moment. Then, she resolutely nodded and declared, “Yes! I truly love him. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have agreed
to marry him!”
Her words seemed to be intentionally directed at a specific individual.
Therefore, she raised her voice a notch and did her best to sound emphatic, albeit knowing that person wasn’t there at that
moment.
With a smile, Cordelia said, “I truly envy you for finding your own happiness.”
Haha, perhaps so!
Sylvia chuckled bitterly deep within but didn’t let it show. She slowly said. “The reason I came this time is actually to invite you...
and Emrys to my wedding banquet.”
“Sure. I was planning on visiting that heartless Ninette anyway,” Cordelia agreed. Then, she promptly asked, “When exactly?”
“The date hasn’t been set yet, but it should be soon, within the next two weeks.”
“Within the next two weeks?” Cordelia’s brows suddenly furrowed.
“What’s the matter? Are you guys busy lately?” Sylvia asked in puzzlement.
Cordelia shook her head. “I have no problem, but I’m worried about whether Emrys will be able to make it back.”
Emrys can’t make it back?
The moment Sylvia heard that, her heart gave a violent jolt.
If Emrys doesn’t attend my wedding, what’s the point of me asking Zephyr to throw a grand wedding for me?
If asked if she genuinely wanted to marry Zephyr, the answer would be a negation.
She then seemingly thought of something and asked, “When you mentioned earlier that Emrys might not be able to make it back,
does that mean he is still at Three Sword Sects on Mount Kushburn?”
She had long suspected that Tigger was Emrys, hence decided to probe with a question.
However, Cord shook her head and said, “No. He left for Jipsdale a couple of days ago, claiming that he had important business
to take care of, but I can’t help feeling that he’s actually...”
Avoiding me!
She didn’t voice the last two words, her emotions in turmoil once again.
A few days ago, after Emrys resolved the matter of the Lestrange family’s secret. inheritance technique, he told Cordelia that he
needed to go to Jipsdale for some important business, then left.
Nonetheless, Cordelia’s imagination ran wild.
She wondered if she was too forward that day that she scared him, causing him to avoid her.
Suddenly, she found herself yearning for the days of old.
Back then, she was unaware that Emrys was Empyrean Lord. She only regarded him as a carefree young boy, often responding
to his banter and teasing by pulling his ear.
She even feigned indifference. Though she longed for him inwardly, she adamantly put on an aloof expression.
It was uncertain if such days could ever return.
Ever since the battle on Sky Devourer Peak, where Emrys defeated a hundred man–made Divinity martial artists, everything
seemed to have changed
Each of the seven of them had their own destiny
Emrys was also often away from home.
All that subtly influenced Cordelia’s emotional state.
If she could turn back time, she would certainly not maintain her previously aloof demeanor and cherish the days spent with
Emrys and the others even more.
Of course, perhaps it was already too late for all that then.
