Cheating

chapter 8

Chapter 8

The primitive forest was full of dangers and challenges. I faced death multiple times.

Sometimes I thought that maybe dying would

be a form of relief. But in the end, I survived.

After falling off a cliff again, I lost consciousness. In my dreams, my daer v

calling me mommy sweet/ds waving at me,

I wanted to hug

her and tell her how much I missed her. But she

smiled and pushed me away, saying I didn’t belong in that world.

When I woke up, I was in a hospital ward.

William was by my bedside, peeling an apple for

  1. me.

I was surprised. “How did you get here?”

He explained while peeling the apple, “I’m also an adventure enthusiast. I stumbled upon you by accident and saved you.”

He shrugged, appearing casual, but I knew it

wasn’t easy–it was a cliff, after all!

I thanked him again, but he told me not to worry, that anyone would have done the same.

He was the one my daughter had chosen as her father before she passed away, and it seemed

she was still protecting me.

After being discharged, William invited me to join his team.

I gladly accepted this time, determined to live my life to the fullest. I wanted to travel through the mountains and rivers that my daughter never got to see and witness the countless

sights she never experienced.

William, with his extensive wilderness

exploration experience, introduced me to many strange and fascinating plants and helped solve

numerous mysteries.

Of course, we faced life–threatening situations together and became the closest of friends and

partners.

Perhaps because he witnessed my most vulnerable moments, I believe William is a good person, and I trust him completely.

After another adventure, I decided to take a

break and visit my daughter. I wanted to share the scenery and experiences I had with her. I carefully chose a bouquet of yellow daisies and brought a birthday cake. It was also my daughter’s birthday.

“Sweetheart, Mommy will be okay! Don’t worry, Mommy will take you to see all the beautiful sights!” I chattered on to my daughter.

I had buried my daughter in a dense forest. It was far from the hustle and bustle of the city, and she could quietly watch the world and enjoy everything she liked.
