Chapter 88
Evan and I have always been going out on a date, to travel and do adventures together. Ever since my parents gave their approval of our relationship, we didn't waste time and do everything we want to do. We only hoped to be a normal couple just like the others, and I am happy that we're able to be like that now that we have our parents' blessings.
Watching movies, star gazing, going on a date in a broad daylight, shopping, going to amusement park for fun, joy ride at night, dancing at the bar, staying at home and watching old anime.. That became our thing. I never thought that these simple things will make me so happy. Perhaps because Evan is with me that's why simple activities like these are making me so giddy, and excited all the time.
I feel so complete. Having Evan and fighting for him was the best decision I've ever made. If I didn't do that and just let myself be eaten up by my own negative emotions back then, I am sure that I would have never been this happy and grateful.
It was all worth it.
"I am so relieved that your relationship is doing better now, babe. I am also glad that all the issues you've encountered were all sorted out," Chandria told me with a smile on her lips.
We are here in the clubhouse where Evan and his best friends are normally hanging out. They are busy playing billiards. The three girls and me are all in the bar counter and having a good conversation while drinking cocktails.
"I'm glad Uncle Frank has finally accepted Evan. God knows how mad he was at me when he learned that Evan was the one investing a huge amount of money in our company back then," Shaira shook her head.
I chuckled. She was totally right. I felt bad because my cousin had to dwell on my father's wrath while I was still living in Bohol. I felt the guilt for making her life miserable and I apologized to her for being so handful. I am just thankful that she helped me a lot in all ways and didn't give up when it comes to finding a solution to save our company. Shaira is the best!
"I can't even believe it, seriously. But I am happy that daddy accepted Evan wholeheartedly this time. We can do anything we want now without worrying too much... you know." I eyed my cousin maliciously.
Shaira rolled her eyes. I raised a brow and pursed my lips. I am still wondering if Ash used a potion to allure her. I didn't know why she fell in love with that playful guy but I am glad that Shaira is becoming normal now. I used to know her as being an uptight woman and very career driven. She's been doing the same routine all her life that made me think that she's a robot.
I sipped on my cocktail drink and then glanced at Kaira. Her arms are crossed on her chest while leaning her back on the countertop table.
"How's your relationship with Clyde?" I asked her carefully.
She glanced my way and smiled a bit. I noticed that her eyes darted on the guys playing on the other side of the room- or perhaps to Clyde. After a few minutes, she nodded at me. "Clyde is a headache but I have no other choice. He loves me." She answered and gave us a smile.
"You know what, I thought you would really divorce him before, Kaira..." said Chandria that made us look her way. "Clyde was truly devastated that time. He cried a lot while he's drunk and that was the very first time I've seen him like that. Then I realized that he really loves you."
"Back then, I thought everything was too worthless that's why I wanted to give it all up. I mean... just fuck the whole thing and move on. That was what inside my mind. I can't just carry two hearts alone... That's too heavy..." Kaira explained. She's right. Well, I am glad that they were able to fix their issues too. I can't be that happy if a pair in our circle is suffering because of a failed relationship.
"You'll feel it, right? When you feel something is missing and you can no longer turn things around, especially if it's going to be your own emotion that is at stake, then let it go," Shaira added. "We can't carry the whole relationship alone. It should be a shared responsibility. It will be meaningless when your partner isn't cooperating."
"Why are we talking about this topic, anyway? Aren't we here to have fun? Cut the drama, please!" Chandria rolled her eyes and laughed a bit.
Kaira, Shaira and I laughed as well. We enjoyed our drinks and talked about so many things. After a few minutes, our men finished their game. They went into our table and joined us.
"You guys having fun?" Ash asked us with a grin on his face.
"Yeah!" Chandria and Shaira answered in chorus.
I felt Evan's familiar hand on my shoulder. The warm of his hand sent shivers down my spine. I turned around and met his piercing gaze. He gazed down at me and then smiled at me automatically.
"So, who won the game?" Kaira asked the guys curiously.
"Clyde and Evan. Fucking cheaters..." Ash answered sarcastically reason why I looked at him.
"I didn't cheat, you loser." Clyde hissed cockily while caressing Kaira's shoulder.
"Then how about we do a rematch?" Ash, being the playful as he is, challenged Evan and raised his brow. "Come on, another game?"
"Just try to win next time," said Evan and then took the cocktail drink on my hand. He then drank it and put it down on the table. "You have to practice more, Ash."
"Ouch, that hurts!" Ash smirked. "You're just lucky today!"
"You're so loud, Ash!" Shaira rolled her eyes.
"It's getting late. I need to send Risha home." Stated Evan as he gently squeezed my shoulder.
"Are you sure you're going to send her home?" Sei asked maliciously with his brow wiggling. I just chuckled a bit.
"I will send her home. I am not like you, Sei." Evan fired at him.
I finally stood up and said goodbye to my girls. Ash was still teasing us. I can't help but to roll my eyes at him. He's really mischievous! Evan snaked his arm around my waist. I waved at them and he did the same. Then we went out of the clubhouse. The cold night breeze immediately embraced my skin. He hung his coat on my shoulders that gave me a little warm. His simple yet sweet gesture made me smile widely. "Did you have fun?" He asked me.
I nodded happily. We continued to walk. Evan put his hand around my shoulder and pulled me closer to him and then kissed the side of my head.
"I feel better that Clyde and Kaira finally got back together. I thought they are going to divorce," I asked as I looked at him.
"Clyde won't let that happen, Risha. He may be ruthless but he's still in love with his wife."
I nodded, agreeing to what he said. I bet he truly loves Kaira. He's not really affectionate when it comes to how he feels but deep inside he fell in love badly.
"Perhaps you can teach your best friend to become a little more affectionate when it comes to his wife," I joked and laughed.
Evan grinned. He then shook his head and pinched the bridge of my nose.
"Nope. I have my own ways and I can't pass it to him. He won't get it, anyway." He joked too.
"Wow!"
He chuckled. We walked towards his car. With a smile plastered on his lips, he opened the door of shotgun seat for me. I went inside and let him buckled my seat belt. "Do you feel dizzy?" he asked sweetly.
I shook my head. My eyes are fixated on his angelic face. It's kind of strange that I no longer see his ruthless and grumpy side that often. What I always see is his affectionate side unlike before.
He gave me a soft kiss on my lips. It was really good that my heart started to pound aggressively. It's just a short kiss yet it is already enough to make me go crazy.
He's good at it. Making my heart go crazy by just kissing me... I don't think I will get used to these emotions he's making me feel.
"Rest while I drive, love." He said and then closed the door beside me.
He walked gracefully and opened the driver's seat. He hopped in and started the engine of his car. Even the way he moves makes me feel so giddy in the inside.
I was watching him while he's maneuvering the car. His too handsome and serious. What a good view! I never felt contented like this in my whole life.
"When did you realize that you like me, Evan?" I asked curiously.
He gazed at me before turning his eyes on the road. He smiled.
"Why do you ask, hmm?"
"I'm just curious... So when did you start feeling it?"
He licked his lower lip. "Do you really want to know?"
"Of course, that's why I'm asking! Tell me!"
He smirked. "You've been introduced to me years ago. You looked so young back then that's why I didn't want to marry you."
My forehead creased. Huh? I didn't know that!
"I already learned about you prior to our first dinner date. I liked your angst. You were too feisty back then, love. And I think I admired you since then..." he continued.
My cheeks flushed because of what he said. So does that mean he fell in love with me at our first encounter?
"So was that love at first sight?" I shyly asked.
He shook his head and smiled playfully. He glanced my way and turned his eyes back on the road.

"I just found you so cute when we formally met, love..." he clarified.
Oh! I thought it was love at first sight! I pouted my lips. I crossed my arms on my chest as I remembered the very first time we met. Back then, his life seemed so miserable and it felt that he didn't want me to get into his life but little did I know, he find me so cute on our first meeting!
"But when you ran away without saying a single word..." he continued. "You made me so fucking worried that I got out of control and just wanted to search the whole world and find you. I used all my connections to get you back and when I saw you alive and breathing freely in Batanes, I realized that there was this crazy part of me that can't afford to lose you in any way..."
My heart pounded aggressively just by listening to his confessions. His words made my heart melt, his honesty made me feel the warmth. I can't believe that he is mine...
"And I confirmed my feelings that day when I kissed you at the light house... I realized that I'd do everything to tie you up with me..." he chuckled. "That I'd give you the whole world as long as you'd give your heart to me..."
I swallowed hard. I am truly happy to hear all these things from him. He already fell in love with me even before I realized that I fell in love with him.
He loved me first...
"So, you'll love me even though I am a spoiled brat?" I asked with my teary eyes.
"I have no other choice, my love. I can deal with a spoiled brat for the rest of my life..." he assured me.
I chuckled. Tears rolled down my eyes so I had to wipe it away. His forehead creased when he saw me crying.
"Hey, why are you crying?" He asked worriedly and then stopped the car on the side of the road so he could check on me.
"I just feel so happy that I heard those words from you." I smiled and wiped my tears away. "This is tears of joy, love. Don't worry..."
"Such a crybaby..." he leaned in and caressed my cheeks. "Hush now, love..."
I nodded and breathed in heavily.
"God... I love you so much!" he whispered huskily.
"I love you too, Evan... and yes, please deal with this spoiled brat for the rest of your life!" I joked around.
"You don't need to tell me..." he said and kissed my lips.
I smiled and kissed him back. My heart is pounding aggressively solely for this guy and I couldn't see myself having this kind emotion towards another man... He's the only man that could make me feel all kinds of emotion.
He's the only person that can make me happy. My heart recognized its true owner... It is Evan.
