Chapter 15
I didn't know how I was able to look at him in his pierced and brooding eyes for a long time. God knows how I wanted to look away but my eyes were unwilling to do so. All I knew was my heart is beating aggressively, like it would come out of my chest and abandon me because of the extreme fear it felt with Evan's dark gaze.
He was too close and the atmosphere is getting so intense. My body cannot seem to function well while he was holding me firmly. My knees were getting weak too; one move and I would probably fall on the floor because I am damn scared right now.
"I am here because my parents wanted me to apologize to you formally," I managed to speak firmly despite the fear in my chest.
I gathered all my strength and pushed him so that I can get away from him. Good thing it worked! He stepped back and that have me a little sigh of relief. My face heated in shame.
How could he touch me like that? My entire body shivered as I still feel his damped body touching mine. I have him a dagger look, mad because of what he did. He's too rude!
He grinned playfully. He was looking at me as if he already knew what's running around my head, like he already figured out what I am thinking all this time.
"It is as if you're really going to apologize, Risha..." he said, mocking me like the usual. "I am surprised to see you here, though. You looked good." He stated as his eyes observed me from head to toe, again. With my crease forehead, I scowled at him. Is that a compliment or an insult? I pouted my lips and decided to look away.
That's alright, Risha. You do not have to prolong this nonsense conversation. You have done your part. The only thing that matters the most is that, you went here and did what your parents asked you to do.
Riley must have reported this visit to my parents. That's the only thing important right now-for my parents to see that I am doing what they asked me to do and to act that I am interested in this arrangement. It is alright if I am just putting an act. Evan has been doing the act all the time, too. We're quits, though.
"I still owe you a lunch, right? Stay, so we can eat," he said which made me glance at him again. Is he serious?
"No, thank you! I think my bodyguard have reported this visit to my father. That is my only main goal for today. I can just leave this house and take care of my own meal," I replied with distaste evident on my voice.
I watched him how he gently caressed and dried his brown colored hair with a towel. His damp hair looks very refreshing to me as this was the first time I have seen him this way. Most of the time, his hair is fixed with a hair wax and is styled in a charismatic way.
My eyes went down to his chest. It is firm and well-built too, as if it was purely developed even without an exercise, and then my eyes went down further.
I swallowed the lump in my throat as I gazed on his six-pack abs. Those abs are brawny and perfectly shaped. I did not know he has this kind of assets in his body. I thought he is a willowy type of a man. His board short is also too short that I could really see the firmed muscles on his legs.
And guess what? I also stared at the high definition hidden bulge between his legs. I licked my lower lip and gasped for some air.
Why is he so damn hot though?
"I won't let you leave without eating a proper meal, Rish..." he simply said after drying his hair with a towel.
I sneered and then rolled my eyes at him. I can't believe that I am hearing all these from Evan Zendejas. I mean, why does he need to act as if he truly cares about me? When in reality, he doesn't care about me at all. He cares about our companies, but that's all.
"As far as I remember, we are not even close for you to care about my meal, Evan." I said bitterly.
He looked at me intently, making me feel that he didn't like what I just said. He stepped forward again. For a moment, my mouth ran dry as his aura made me my body shivered.
Then before I realize it, and just like a dream, he held my hand and dragged me inside their mansion.
"Hey! Evan, w-wait!"
"You can stay, Rish. You will be fine here with me," he said coolly that to be honest, it gave me a warm and unfamiliar feeling.
I didn't talk back and just followed him as I looked at our hands interlocked together. My heart is still beating aggressively. I can't even get a grasp on why he's suddenly acting like a caring guy to me. You are very strange, Evan.

We walked inside the living room and I was surprised to see Samantha sitting on the couch with a man. My mouth opened in awe as the guy she is with is so handsome and undeniably attractive too just like... Oh, well.
Evan must have noticed them as he stopped walking, which made me bump my head into his back. I looked at him and saw that his eyes were already fixated on the people sitting on the couch. He was looking at them in an intense way. Samantha and the man she is with both glanced our way. Evan's sister stood up with a smile flashing on her lips. Then, the guy also stood up next to her. Just like Evan, this guy seems to have a brooding temper.
"Harvey," Evan called the guy.
So, his name is Harvey, huh?
I glanced at the guy named Harvey and then looked back at Evan. Why do I have this feeling that they are not in good terms? They were looking at each other as if they want to have a fight or what not. If I am not mistaken, Harvey is probably Samantha's boyfriend and Evan is just a paranoid older brother. That's pretty obvious.
"Space..." Evan informed them warily.
"You have nothing to worry about, Evan." Harvey said and then he put his arm on Samantha's waist.
"Harvey, I would like you to meet Nathalie Saavedra, she is Evan's fiancée," Samantha said, introducing me to Harvey and then she gazed at me. "Nathalie, this guy here is my boyfriend, Harvey."
I shyly smiled at Harvey.
"It is nice to finally meet you, Nathalie." He said to me and smiled a bit, then he gazed back at Evan. "She is beautiful and looks so young for you, dear brother."
"Dear brother my ass..." Evan replied in a cranky way.

I even saw him rolling his eyes at them and then he continued to drag me gently upstairs. I only followed him and glanced at the people we left in the living room. They were laughing over something I was not aware of. I just shrugged. We reached the second floor of their mansion and then we walked through the hallway where there are several doors that I guess are their rooms. I remained silent and let Evan drag me until we are in front of the very last room in this floor. This must be his room. He opened it and then we went inside.
"Why did you drag me all the way here? I can stay in the living room with Samantha," I said, running out of breath and pulled my hand off of him.
He threw his towel on the couch and then he turned to me. He seemed to be upset over something. I can see the grumpy emotion on his eyes. His forehead is creasing and his lips twitched too.
"No, you will stay here with me. I don't want you to stay with them. I will request some food so we can eat here."
"I don't get you. What's got into you, Evan? I don't want to be locked in here with you," I said, trying to hold on to the little patience I have.
"I don't want you to witness how intimate that couple could get, Risha. They are vulgar and I don't like you to see them that way," he said firmly and then he sighed. "I will just take a shower. Do whatever you want, alright? We will eat once I am finished. Got that?"
I still don't understand him but I guess I have no other choice. I am already here in his room, stuck with the grumpiest guy I have known.
I pouted my lips, defeated.
"Alright..." I uttered weakly.
He inhaled sharply and then walked to a path on the left side of his room.
What should I do now?
