Chapter 1040
"Anything suspicious?" Theodore repeated.
He tried to think back on anything that might have gone wrong. Suddenly, he remembered how he told Rosalie he had evidence that would send Sebastian to jail.
After seeing his evidence, she didn't tell him that Sebastian had left for Blencalgo. Only much later, after she watched the video, did she confess that Sebastian had left Melrine.
Why did she not say it right from the start, and only after she watched the video?
It felt as though she was trying to protect Sebastian.
Did this really have something to do with Rosalie? Did she tell Sebastian to leave out of worry that something might happen to him?
Did Sebastian tell Rosalie what he did, and despite her anger, she still chose to forgive him and let him hide in Blencalgo lest something untoward were to happen to him?
However, the shock on Rosalie's face when she watched the video he showed her didn't seem as though she knew about it beforehand.
Theodore's mind was a mess.
Was it truly Rosalie?
"Theo," Aurora said as he held his hand. "The truth is sometimes most unexpected. If Mrs. Carter knows you very well, she certainly knows the kind of person her husband is. I really don't think it's mere coincidence that Sebastian returned to Blencalgo at such a critical juncture. Perhaps they were in cahoots. Having known what her husband did, she as his wife would naturally defend him. They share a child, after all. She can't possibly see him go to jail."
Every word Aurora uttered made sense. Theodore felt even more conflicted.
"Alright, Aurora," he finally said. "That's enough."
"Okay, I'll stop. But Theo, I'm just worried that you'll get hurt. You know that I think for you in all things because I love you. In the same way, Mrs. Carter loves another man and thinks for him in all things. That man is Sebastian Carter."
Theodore felt a little lightheaded, and he unbuttoned the first few buttons on his shirt. His chest heaving, he said, "Have some breakfast first." "Okay."
Aurora said nothing further and picked up a fork to start eating. She glanced at Theodore from the corner of her eyes, and noticed that he didn't look too good.
After she was done with her breakfast, he said, "I'll head out for a moment. I'll be back soon."
"Where are you going, Theo?"
"I have something to attend to. Get some rest."
"Alright, go ahead then. Take care."
Theodore nodded, and left the ward.
Soon, Theodore arrived outside Rosalie's ward. He saw her getting dressed and walking to the door, looking as though she was leaving the ward.
Theodore hurriedly chased after her.
"Wait."
Rosalie stopped in her tracks, and turned around.
Theodore approached her. "Are you getting discharged?"
"I feel much better, so I'm going home," she said. She wanted to visit Justin before attending her classes.
"You have to stay hospitalized for a few more days. You can't get discharged now," Theodore argued, brows furrowed.
"I can decide for myself whether I
can be discharged or not," Rosalie
retorted. "I've already signed my name and gone through the procedures. Mr. Spencer, go take care of Aurora."
With that, she turned to leave.
Theodore grabbed her arm. "Wait."
"Theodore Spencer, what's the point? What I do is none of business. Please let me go, you?" Rosalie begged. en.kikistories
