Chapter 56 Who Do You Think I Bought It for

“Did you buy this for me?” Renee asked, dumbfounded.

“Quincy, you actually bought her such a thing, didn’t she scheme against you before…” Marcella didn’t understand.

“My business needs your interference?” Quincy glared coldly right away.

“No, no need, I, I’m leaving.” Marcella was speechless, a sense of foreboding filling her heart. Quincy was different towards Renee now. She quickly made her escape.

“Renee, so, you bought all these eye–sores as a form of retaliation?” Quincy’s eyes radiated a dangerous light.

Cough, cough, who knows what got into you, even buying me clothes,” Renee said, trying to ease her embarrassment by asking, “Quincy, you’re not regretting it and trying to pursue me, are you?”

Quincy’s eyes darkened, and he couldn’t help but chuckle, “Marcella was right about one thing.”

“What?”

“Your face was really thick.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Quincy turned and walked away, as if he was hiding something.

Renee stomped her foot in anger, “You jerk, don’t leave, clarify your words, who has the thick skin!”

Quincy, out of anger, didn’t pay for the pile of tacky things he had bought for Renee.

Renee could only helplessly smile and put everything back exactly as it

was

In the following days, Quincy didn’t contact Renee again.

The atmosphere in the Secretary Department was very depressed. Lisa, who used to visit frequently, hadn’t appeared for a long time.

Renee finally felt that life had returned to normal, without having to worry all the time about what might be wrong with the tea.

She received a notice from the hospital, the baby was three months old and should have had a regular check–up.

She took the afternoon off and went straight to the hospital.

During the meeting, Quincy noticed that the person delivering coffee was not Renee. He looked at the manager of the Secretary Department, “Where is she?”

“Cough, cough, Ms. Braun took a leave to go to the hospital, didn’t she tell you?”

The man had a dark expression, and that woman couldn’t wait to leave him, eager to run away with another man.

After the meeting, Quincy returned to the office.

He looked at Morris, “Over at the hospital, did they contact the best doctor for her?”

“Everything had already been arranged.”

“Once she finished checking over there, she was to inform me of the results. This matter couldn’t be known by anyone else, understood?”

After all, for a woman, being sick was not a good reputation, and her reputation was bad enough already.

He felt that his tolerance for Renee was truly becoming increasingly limitless.

After Quincy finished speaking, he received a call from his grandmother, “Grandson, next month will be your second wedding anniversary with Renee, how are you planning to celebrate?”

The man paused for a moment, “Grandma, what are your thoughts?”

“Why not just reveal your relationship with Renee? You’ve been married for two years, and you’ve even done things that upset Renee. Revealing your relationship could be a form of compensation for Renee, and it would also keep those little bitches out there in line.”

Alisa spat out words like “little bitch” and “little fox“, wishing she could throw them in Quincy’s face.

Quincy thought for a moment, then replied, “Alright, let’s not tell her about this for now.”

After all, he was the one who proposed the divorce.

Revealing her identity as Mrs. Patel at the anniversary banquet should have compensated her, right?

After hanging up the phone, Quincy flipped through the gemstone catalog next to him. He looked at it for a long time, then turned to his assistant, “Which one do you think she would like?”

“For the lady?”

Quincy looked up, his voice cold as he began, “I think as an assistant, your work ability needs improvement.”

Did this even need to be asked

The assistant quickly remedied, “I think pink diamonds are quite good, young girls all like them.”

“The batch of pink diamonds from the last auction, let them all stay, I wanted them.”

The assistant took a sharp breath, “Are you planning to give it to your wife?”

Such a grand gesture!

Any woman would have been left dazed and confused.

“It was me who owed her.”

Quincy closed the book. After spending some time together, he found that Renee wasn’t as annoying as he thought. In fact, he felt a bit

uncomfortable without her around.

He continued, “All arrangements for the anniversary banquet need to be sent to me for review.”

Morris silently speculated, was this the rhythm of a reconciliation?

The boss wasn’t even this serious when he got married back then.
