Chapter 21
Arthur was right. She was acting tough. Her company made an average of about 50 million, and a profit of a few hundred million
was still a very big deal to her!
Her company's contract with Bridgehive Co. had been stable all along, and she hadn't expected Mr. Adkins to break the contract
all of a sudden...
Beep—
Beep—
Lucy looked at the caller ID and picked up the phone. "This is Lucy Morgan from Solsticetems Co., and you are?"
"I'm Kyle Carr, the general manager of Bridgehive Co. The thing is, I found out about the issue with Freddie Adkins making his
own rash decisions. I already fired him. Please forgive us for Freddie causing a rift between both our companies. I wish to
discuss the contract with you, is now a convenient time?"
"Yes, sure."
After discussing the contract with Kyle, Lucy hung up with a smile. The burden on her shoulders had finally been lifted.
However, how did the general manager of Bridgehive Co. have her phone number? He must have asked his staff to get it.
She didn't dwell on it. She called Kylah and asked her out to dinner that night.
...
Kyle hung up smilingly and turned respectfully to the person sitting on the couch. He was smiling from ear to ear. "Mr. Johnson,
I've done what you asked. About our cooperation..."
"My secretary will contact you." Arthur stood up, patted down his coat which wasn't even wrinkled, and strode out of the office.
Max, his assistant, followed closely behind him.

Max, his assistant, followed closely behind him.
Kyle tagged along with a grin and kissed up to Arthur exaggeratedly. "Mr. Johnson, it's my honor that you could bless our
company with your presence today."
He didn't feel awkward even though he got no response. He rambled on, "It's getting late. I know a nearby restaurant that serves
good food. Might I have the pleasure of having a meal with you?"
Max turned around and rejected him, "Our CEO is very busy."
If it weren't for Ms. Morgan, why would Arthur come to a small company like this?
"Haha, we can eat together next time! Mr. Johnson is a busy man, I can understand that!" Kyle didn't get annoyed, and he
walked Arthur to the company's exit. He felt very pleased.
Max walked to the Bentley and opened the door. After Arthur got into the car, he closed the door and got into the driver's seat.
"Sir, don't you think it's not too wise to do all this in the dark?" Max turned around. "Ms. Morgan won't know all that you've done.
Won't all your efforts go to waste?"
Arthur glared at him and said darkly, "Are you feeling too bored?"
With her character of wanting nothing to do with him, how would she accept his help?
"Not at all! I'm really busy!" Max laughed politely and turned around hastily. He sat up straight and looked all businesslike.
How scary!
They got back to Johnson Group, and the moment Arthur reached his office, someone jumped out.
Chad pranced around and rummaged through Arthur's pockets, but he didn't find what he was looking for.
"Chad, do you have a death wish?" Arthur grabbed him and said through gritted teeth.
Chad put his hand on Arthur's shoulder, looking nosy and curious. "Arthur, where's Lucy? I heard Lucy's back!"
Arthur wouldn't be sad all the time anymore, would he?
"Who told you that?" Arthur smacked his hand away in disgust and walked into the office.
Chad followed him while mumbling, "It doesn't matter who told me. What matters is this news. Arthur, where's Lucy? I haven't
seen her in five years and I do miss her!"
"Miss who?" Arthur's sharp gaze fell on him at once, like a predator eyeing its prey.
