Chased by the Alpha Who Rejected Me by Stevanyla

Chapter 1

Chapter 1

Today is the day my mate has been looking forward to. He will be the pack’s Alpha for the Gray Sea Pack.

I assisted in the preparations for his coronation ceremony for one week.

I enjoy seeing his bright smile and dazzling face. I don’t regret getting up so early to go to his home.

But I couldn’t approach him. There were a lot of people around him. I watched him from a distance, and I saw his solid back more frequently.

We are far apart, but our hearts are very close. I can talk to Delrico via mind link, even if he doesn’t respond.

I touched our mate’s mark. He won’t look at me and not announce I was his mate. It’s okay; the most important thing is that he has marked me.

“Why are you daydreaming?” A curly-haired omega gave me a laundry basket full of clean clothes. “Dry all of those clothes. I’m sick of washing them.”

She tilted her l*ps as she studied me from head to toe. “Because you have a bigger b*dy than me, you must have more power.” She walked away without allowing me to refuse.

I stared at the clothes in the basket. They frequently ask me to lift large objects just because I have a fat b*dy.

I’m not an omega. I often come to this house because my mate’s mother asked me to help her take care of her plants, and I am delighted because I can meet my mate and smell his scent.

‘They should know that you are Delrico’s mate. I can’t stand the attitude of those who order you around.’ My wolf voice echoes in my head.

I can’t do it. If I say I’m Delrico’s mate, I’m afraid Delrico will be angry with me and reject me.

‘It’s okay, Naya. I’m happy to help them. I’m going to assume I was working out.’ I’ve arrived on the roof, where I’ll hang those clothes to dry. I wonder why that omega does the laundry on such an important day.

When I looked around, I realized I was short of breath. I had to climb dozens of stairs to reach the third floor.

After checking the time on my phone, I rushed to sunbathe all the clothes. The ritual for Delrico’s coronation as an alpha will commence in one hour. I must arrive on time if I am to see that historic event.

“Where do you want to go?”

Carina stands before me when I set foot on the ground floor. She put her hands on her waist and looked at me with a raised eyebrow. She wore a short off-the-shoulder white dress and had her makeup on, her eyelashes curling up.

Carina’s thin and tall frame allows her to fit into every outfit. In contrast to me, who is perplexed about where to buy clothes because large sizes are rarely available in stores. I can’t wear fashion trends that are popular among young women.

“I want to change clothes and make-up.” I’m telling the truth.

“You’re sweating. You should take a shower first.” Carina came closer to me and whispered. “Why did you come to Delrico’s coronation? Did you get an invite?” She looked at me and smiled crookedly.

“I am his mate.” I don’t need to get an invite.

“But Delrico disowned you.” Carina took one step back. “You can’t come without an invitation because you are nob*dy. Delrico loves me. He wishes I was his mate.” Carina smiled broadly.

Carina is so proud to be Delrico’s girlfriend. She took Delrico from me. But I can’t do anything because my mate loves Carina.

Carina is my cousin. I lived with her and her father after my parents died when I was eight.

Carina and her minions bullied me at school. They kept me as a pet who had to do whatever they told me. No one is helping me.

I want to move schools, but my uncle, Carina’s father, is the one who pays for my education and my living expenses. I can’t inform my uncle about Carina’s bullying. I don’t want Uncle to be sad and feel guilty for me.

“Karalyn.” Georgia approached me as she was about to enter the building used for Delrico’s coronation ceremony.

I didn’t think about Carina’s words. I am Delrico’s mate. My name should be on the guest list, and the warriors standing guard at the door often see me helping Georgia, Delrico’s mother.

“What’s wrong, Georgia?” I studied Georgia’s appearance. This afternoon she looked different. Her brunette hair was tied back in a bun, and she wore a long red v-n*eck dress with 15-inch black stiletto heels.

Other people would not believe Georgia is 80 years old because there are no wrinkles on her face, and her b*dy is slim, like a girl my age.

“Are you going to come inside?” She took a fan from her mini bag and fanned her face.

“Yes, I want to witness the coronation ceremony,” I said excitedly.

“You may come in, but you are standing in the corner of the room. Don’t come near us.” She said with a threatening tone and an intimidating look.

I nodded, obeying her orders. It’s okay; the most important thing is that I witnessed Delrico’s coronation. I want to hear his voice, see his face and smell his scent.

I’m sure he also enjoys sniffing my scent, even faintly, because we’re so far apart.

The women whispered and laughed with glancing eyes at me.

I lowered my head to see my appearance. I wore a short green Sabrina dress and a 5-inch wedge.

Why are they looking at me?

This green dress stands out because the women who attended wore black, white, blue, and red dresses. I can’t choose the color because only this dress fits my b*dy.

I had to order from a designer to obtain the dress exactly how I wanted it, but my savings weren’t enough.

‘Why did you come? I didn’t invite you.’ I was surprised to hear the deep voice echoing in my head. I looked towards the stage, and Delrico glared at me. ‘Stay there and don’t say anything. You will only embarrass me.’

I lowered my head and stared at my fingers. It was the first time Delrico spoke via mind link. I’m happy and sad at the same time.

The coronation ceremony has begun. Delrico performed all the rituals as directed by the elders who led the coronation. Then he was formally announced as the pack’s new alpha.

“Alpha, we hope you meet your mate soon!” Everyone says the same thing.

I stared straight ahead, at Delrico, in dismay. I hope he says he has met his mate and announces me as his mate.

“Thank you for all of your wishes.” Delrico turned to Carina, who was standing next to him. “I hope Carina is my mate. I want to make her my Luna. I don’t want to find my mate because I love Carina.”

Chapter 2

Everyone is shocked. Elders and Delrico’s parents said nothing after he vowed not to look for his mate.

My heart shattered into pieces, and tears flowed down like a waterfall. The mate marking tattoo on the crook of my n*eck throbs; I grimace and touch it.

Several people standing before me turned to me with strange looks, and they said I was noisy.

Tears obstructed my vision so that I couldn’t see well. Even though Carina is not Delrico’s mate, I keep hearing that everyone thinks he looks good with her. They praised Carina, who had a lovely face and a good heart.

Everyone supports Delrico and Carina’s relationship.

I covered my mouth to muffle my sobs, and my tears rolled down my n*eck and dress.

My wolf asked me to leave before seeing Delrico and Carina k*ssing for the hundredth time.

Delrico threatened me not to talk, and Georgia asked me to stand in the corner.

If I approach them, I’m afraid they will kick me out, and Delrico will reject me.

I’m used to seeing Delrico with Carina and hearing Georgia say that she hopes Carina is Delrico’s mate. But this is the first time Delrico has expressed how much he loves Carina in front of many people.

I am his mate, and Delrico has marked me, but why did he hide me and betray me?

I have to ask Delrico.

I wiped away the tears that couldn’t stop flowing. My heart is so broken.

I waited for Delrico by sitting under a tree in his yard. I took off the brown wedges because my feet hurt. I prefer wearing sandals.

“Stop crying, Kara,” I said to myself. I took my phone from my black wallet and saw my face. “Gosh, my makeup is a mess.”

My face is frightened. It’s no surprise that people laughed at me. Even though dressing up doesn’t make me pretty, I trained to do my makeup for a week to attend Delrico’s coronation ceremony as an alpha.

I washed my face and removed all the makeup that had stuck to my face. I stared at the sink mirror that exposed my appearance.

“You’re wearing a dress, and makeup won’t make you look pretty.” An omega with shoulder-length black hair came out of one of the bathrooms and stood beside me to apply powder to her cheeks.

“You have a lot of fat. You should get rid of those hideous fats before you put on a dress.” The shoulder-length black-haired Omega laughed and left me.

I lowered my head and stroked my distended stomach, making me feel five weeks pregnant. My arms are so big I can’t feel confident in a sleeveless dress, but this dress fits me.

My thighs and calves are also quite large. I don’t look nice in either long or short dresses. The salesman suggested I wear a short dress even if it meant exposing my calves.

The news about Delrico choosing Carina as Luna has spread widely. Everyone in this pack and Alphas from other packs discuss Delrico’s decision not to look for his mate.

Two elders asked Delrico to think again because we have to be with our mate, someone who the Moon Goddess destined to be ours. Delrico is alpha; he needs a mate more than anyone. Delrico must have children from his mate.

But Delrico didn’t listen to them. Delrico was adamant about his decision, and his parents did not interfere in his life.

Two days after Delrico’s coronation, I haven’t seen him. He didn’t want to see me like he used to, and everyone kicked me out of his house.

I spoke to him via mind link, but he never answered and rejected my mind link before I finished speaking.

“You really insist on meeting him.” Carina approached me while I stood under a tree in Delrico’s yard, and the warriors gave up hauling me out because I continued to struggle.

“You lost from the start. Haven’t you heard that Delrico loves me a lot? I’m the only one in his heart.” Carina said with a big smile and showed the diamond ring wrapped around her ring finger on her left hand. When did they get engaged?

“He loves you, but he is my mate. He already marked me.” I pointed at the mate mark Delrico made the first time we met.

“To hell with the mark! All that matters is that Delrico has announced I will be his Luna.” Carina waves her long wavy dark red hair against my face.

“What are you doing here?” Georgia came out of the house and called the warriors. “Don’t let that woman come to this house again.” She ordered the warriors to drag me.

“I want to meet Alpha Delrico,” I screamed so loudly that people passing by looked at me. “Let me see him. Just once.” I gripped the iron bars of the gate.

Georgia and Carina ignored me. They go inside the house.

“Please, just once, I just want to ask you,” I whispered.

I met Delrico two years ago in a convenience shop where I worked. Delrico then waited for me to leave work before tagging me behind the convenience store, which was located in a tiny alley.

After that, we met twice. Then suddenly, he never saw me again or answered my mind link. He disappeared.

I came to his house and confessed that I was his mate, the warriors guarding the house laughed and couldn’t believe it. On that day, I knew why Delrico had changed.

I saw Carina and Delrico k*ssing on the rooftop.

My heart crushed and my b*dy so limp, I dropped to the ground, unable to utter my voice to summon him.

After that, Delrico stayed away from me, and Carina was always by his side. Delrico confessed to Georgia that I was his mate. I thought Georgia would help me, but I was wrong; she supported Delrico with Carina.

“Karalyn. Why are you daydreaming?” Uncle Morgan’s voice pulled me from my long reverie.

I can’t forget those beautiful memories even though they are tarnished with painful memories. At least I know Delrico is a good guy, and he accepted me before Carina came and ruined everything.

I glanced at the bracelet he gave me. That simple bracelet I will always wear because it is the only gift from him.

“I don’t know if Carina is Alpha Delrico’s girlfriend.” Morgan sat next to me and handed me a piece of grilled chicken.

I couldn’t tell Morgan the real story.

“I didn’t even know Alpha Delrico came to the house so much. Did you know? I seem to be too busy working.” Morgan put his feet on the glass table.

“Is it true?” I am shocked. I come home at night and spend most of my time working in the restaurant and occasionally assisting Georgia in caring for her flowers.

“You don’t know either,” Morgan said. “Right now, they are in Carina’s room.”

I quickly ran to Carina’s room which was on the first floor. I have to meet Delrico before he leaves.

Delrico’s scent makes my heart race. Why have I just k*ss his fragrance? I’ve been home for 10 minutes.

When my eyes caught Carina’s bedroom door, I stepped slowly. Delrico must have smelled my scent.

I was surprised when Delrico came out of the room and folded his arms across his chest, with his dark eyes looking at me intently. His face and aura showed anger.

“Delrico, I want—.” He cut me off.

“So disturbing.”
