Chapter 24 — A New Attitude
Bash:
I shook my head at Cease smiling and noticed my office door was not fully closed all the way. I pointed to it, and he turned and walked to shut it completely. I still had water on my neck and swiped at it with the towel in my hand. Cease had to have been watching the monitors. Otherwise, how else would he have known that Lois was back here?
I looked down at the screen and the hallway was clear. I walked over to the wall near my fish tank, tapped on the picture of Tupac. The secret door popped open. Lois stepped out with an embarrassed look on her face.
I was all set to let Lola catch us in the act. Covered in pussy juice, sweat and semen, all that good loving. Lois had that sad little girl look on her face and I couldn't do it. That pussy had me all caught up in more ways than one. "Ahem. Hello Caesar, nice to see you again. Is Nise out in the bar roaming around?"
Cease just looked between the two of us and nodded yes. Lois made her way out toward the back-exit door. She knew better than to go down the main hallway. He waited until we heard the exit door shut to speak again. "Nigga you are beyond fucking mental. I can't even. I'm glad to know that panic room was not a waste of money."
I laughed at him and grabbed the blunt from my top drawer to blaze up. Shit, I felt light on my feet and clear headed now. Lola was going to be on her detective shit for the next few days, or until she found solid proof. I didn't care seeing as how she was in deep with her secret bank actions.
This marriage was on a clock now. I gave it a total of four months, six tops. Lois was still torn between Adonis and I, that much was clear. Her mouth said one thing and her body another. She had thirty days to figure this shit out or I was making the final call for her.
"Have you heard anything on those out-of-town fools that shot up the warehouse?"
Caesar was not going to sit out this beef, not by a long shot. I knew he wasn't happy that I took the throne back, but oh fucking well. I shook my head no at him and continued to puff away. Right now, to be honest I was not too impressed with his assessment of me. This beef was Kalvon's and mine inherited after that shoot out.
Cease did not need to be involved in anyway. Plus, he had his own shit going on with Nise and Darryl. I ashed the blunt. The alert went off on my phone and I picked it up.
Yasmine Tate sent an encrypted email with documents for me to sign. Those files had better be to my specifications exactly or that trial was going to be the least of her worries.
"Let's go rejoin the celebration, I need a drink. There are a few people out there I want to discuss some business with," I said walking toward the door, not waiting for him to respond. Caesar was now on my time as far as business went and personal shit could wait.
We entered the main room through the kitchen. I grabbed a finger sandwich to shove in my mouth. This catered food was bomb as hell, or it could be the weed sinking in. I didn't see Lola or Lois in attendance, and I got slightly worried. Oh well, I was not caught in the act so anything after was out of my control.
Lola:
I looked over the room again and did not see my sister at all. My mind began to come up with all types of scenarios. Then I heard that ghetto hood rat Nise speak to my left and I turned to see whom she was in talks with.
"Lo I am telling you D.C. is where it's at. You should consider relocating there after you graduate. I got all types of connections to help set you up."
I stomped over there pissed off because she was not on the guest list. I got within two feet and neither had stopped to acknowledge my presence. I did in a crude manner.
"Lo can practice law here in her hometown with the support of her family. Are you the plus one of an invited guest Denise?"
I don't give a damn if my voice was slightly high pitched, and my shoulders were heaving. Some fishy shit was going on in this building. I was going to find out about it. Nise looked at me and smirked, then back to Lois. Lois and she had some unspoken language as Nise nodded to her then walked away.

"What the fuck was that all about Lois?"
"Calm down. What is wrong with you Lola.? This is supposed to be a celebration. You are acting like a child with a tantrum."
The Lord needed to wrangle me up right now. I was on ten and ready to slap the shit out of my sister.
"Where were you five minutes ago? I was looking for you."
I wanted to view her body language for signs of hesitation or lying. Lois looked straight into my eyes without blinking and spoke.
"I was with Nise in Caesar's office. She wanted to discuss planning a surprise birthday party for him. At a damn strip club, can you believe that of all places? Lola what is up? Your forehead is sweating bricks like you just took a healthy dump. Are you feeling okay sister?"
"Hello my beautiful daughters."
We both turned simultaneously to see our father. Leo Jennings standing before us with balloons and gift bags. Our dad had never stepped foot in this bar because he despised my marrying below his standards. This was so unexpected and made me feel special. Daddy would bend over backwards for Lois and made it to all the events with Adonis.
"Hey daddy!"
We both said in unison and looked at each other. As kids we often did that while speaking to our parents. As if we were one mind and one voice. My dad opened his arms and leaned in to hug me. I threw my arms around his neck and squeezed.

My mood was still foul, but I was not going to let it show with my father now present. He would for sure go off on Bash and demand that I leave him. He handed the bags over then went to hug Lois. She did not seem very pleased to see our father. Lo had been keeping one too many secrets of late.
"Good of you to make it Leo. I hope my establishment is up to your refined requirements," Bash spoke, and I had to bite my tongue. He was baiting my father into making a witty comeback that would spark a heated debate. What the hell was up with him tonight? Bash was acting way out of character and new pussy, or a lot of stress was the reason for it.
"Sebastian, nice to see you as well. I wouldn't dare miss this for all the hoes in Prague. My oldest daughter taking that first step back into the corporate world is a big deal! I am proud that she finally stepped out of that textbook housewife role."
"Daddy Nise is here, from my ballet school. I bet she is dying to see you! Come on."
Lois quickly grabbed my father's hand and ushered him away from Bash and myself. The air was thicker than stale stuffed crust pizza. I am not sure who was giving off the most right now. Bash stood there with a rock in his jaw and looked me in the eyes.
"You are just picking arguments with everyone tonight. I guess your little jump-off didn't suck your dick well enough to keep a smile on your face," I said and began to walk past him. Bash grabbed my arm and pulled me close to his face. The weed on his breath stank so damn good. I needed to smoke right now after all the events that had just went down.
"Lola, we can discuss your out-of-control imagination at home later. You are not about to act like a two-year-old up in here. I shut down tonight for you. I interrupted my money flow again for you. So, slap on a happy expression and go mingle, or we can talk about the call I got from the bank."
I didn't react, just pulled my arm from his grasp. Bash was onto my money scheme, but it didn't matter because now. I had dirt on his ass as well. This night had been a complete bust for me. I was no longer excited about my new job. I needed to get my affairs in order because this was just the beginning.
