Chapter 17 — Connect the Dots
Yasmine:
I leaned back in my chair and stared out the window. That peace and quiet was short lived by the ringing of my cell phone. I rolled my eyes at the thought of having to deal with another man that wanted to whine or complain. The screen read my husband's name. A small pulsating sensation began at the back of my head. Magnus was out of town on business, but constantly checking up on me. Sometimes he treated me like his daughter instead of his wife. "Yes, dear?"
"Dear? Yas, don't call me that white people pet name shit. How are things going there?"
Magnus was the love my life. I didn't care that we were from opposite sides of the world. He fulfilled my every dream and that came with a steep price. He worshipped the ground I walked on. Like most powerful men in the streets, he could not keep that wandering dick in his pants.
Magnus had a thing for dumb black women with bleached blonde hair and breast implants. I have no idea where it came from, but after three years of marriage, the serial cheating started. At least twice a year he stepped out on me, that I could prove.
In the beginning, I was unbothered because I was number one. Once rumors started flying and my staff began to talk, I spoke out. Magnus laughed at me and said to get thicker skin, and that I did. I became a ruthless businesswoman and had my own side men. He hated that return karma.
Like most men he could serve up the cold dish but couldn't stomach it in return. Sadly a few men that I had entertained paid for it in blood. The first time I got caught he murdered the young man in front of me. Magnus demanded that I help dispose of the body as punishment for daring to step out on him. That night still haunts me to this day.
I got smarter about my extracurricular activities after that. The men who met unfortunate accidents after that were not my lovers, just casualties of Magnus' insecurities. I didn't feel bad either because this was a dog-eat-dog world and only the strong survived.
"Sounds like everything is cool. Make sure that lawyer fool does his job right. That bad publicity you are getting is spilling over into my affairs."
The coldness in his voice reached my toes, and I shivered just a bit.
"Wow, all about you honey. Did you want anything else?"
"Honey? Yas, who the fuck is you getting sassy with? I see you got hella attitude over there. You made the decision to be a crooked businesswoman! Don't get your Gucci thongs in a bunch because the consequences are becoming too much for your ass to handle. You need daddy to come home and bust that pussy wide open. Better yet a dick in your mouth will straighten all that right the fuck out. Say something now I dare your ass to!"
I scoffed at his remark and was appalled at how he just addressed me. Magnus' fuck game was impeccable. None of my side guys could compare. My husband was a stallion in the sheets and licked my entire body prior to fucking it into a coma. This new attitude he was displaying set off a small alarm in my head.
Magnus never got into my realty company, or those I did business with. He respected what I was trying to build and helped in any way he could. Now I was starting to wonder if he had been poking his nose in my shit. I rarely kept secrets from my husband. The current one I held was not mine to tell nor for him to know.
"Magnus, what do you really want?"
"I want my wife to act like the bitch I married, and not this brand-new version. I will be cutting my trip short and coming back within a week. Yasmine, I don't want any goddamn ripples do you understand me?"
The nerve of his ass to put me in check like that. We wrapped up our conversation, and I hung up the phone. Sebastian, Magnus, and Adonis were all giving me a massive migraine right now. I was feeling unappreciated and neglected right now. I attempted to resume looking out the window when my cell went off again.
"GODDAMN IT!" I yelled out snatching the phone up without looking at the name.
"What!"
"Yasmine is that any way to answer the phone."
Leo Jennings' voice came across deep and smooth. I cleared my throat and grabbed a notepad.
"Hello, Mr. Jennings it has been a while since we spoke."
"Yes, I know which is the reason why I am calling. That foul language is an indication business is not going well over your way hmmm."
"Um no not at all. Just a call that did not yield great results. What can I do for you today?"
"I was intrigued to discover that you are doing business with both of my son-in-law's."

"My other clients' information is private and are not your concern. Your personal life has nothing to do with me."
"Everything and anything that effects my daughters is my concern, Yasmine."
Leo Jennings was the father of Bash's wife and mistress. This city was too damn small, and everyone was connected in some way or another. He hated Bash and Adonis with a passion that I had never seen before. Leo wanted them out of his daughters' lives.
Now I never asked what his issue was with them, but it was deep-seated. It was time for me to do a little dirt digging on Leo, Bash and even Adonis. I was not going to go down behind someone else's fuckups or misgivings. Magnus would shit a brick if he knew any of this was going on. He had rules about getting overly involved with business associates. A rule I should have adhered. No, I had to sleep with Leo at a fundraiser event. I was too busy in my feelings about Magnus' latest jump off, to realize that Leo had played me for a sucker. I needed to turn the tables in my favor.
I pulled up my email account and sent a message to Akron. He was a private investigator that I occasionally hired for off the book work. He could find out everything on anybody for the right price. I looked up at the clock and. Adonis would be coming here in about two hours.
I had been flirting heavily with him as a distraction. Contrary to what his slut of a wife thought. There was no way in hell I was fucking him. Adonis was a little boy playing in grown folks' games.
Adonis was a great attorney and could get these charges dropped against me. He had no idea that he was going to either die or end up in jail behind Leo. The way things were going, Sebastian may kill him and take his damn wife. Two Hours Later "Yasmine if you will review the sections marked with a yellow tab that would be great. I have interviewed witnesses and gone through depositions. The facts are not adding up. There are too many inconsistent stories. Is there anything more you need to divulge? Let me remind you that attorney client privilege does apply to all our meetings together. I cannot by law repeat anything that you say to me to anyone else."
Adonis was sitting across from me begging for more details. He came highly recommended by a shady associate. I heard he was an animal at getting a case settled or thrown out before it ever saw a court room. That was not true for me, and he seemed nervous. A nervous lawyer meant fear, and fear meant failure.
I could not afford to be indicted and dragged publicly. I wasn't worried about going to prison because I had enough clout to stop that. My face and business dealings plastered over the televisions and newspapers brought with its wrath from Magnus. I had supplied buildings for a few of his clients to store drugs, weapons, hell even people.
Adonis was distracted by his beef with Leo and is with screwing around. I really was tired of flirting with him and hitting a brick wall. I may have to bite the bullet and put this fresh pussy on him.
I should also spill some information on his wife and cousin that he didn't know. I had the papers in front of my face so that he could not read my expression. I signed loudly and put a smile to my face and lowered the paper. "Donnie, I have recounted everything to you accurately. I don't know what you want from me. I-I-I-."
The fake tears began to flow from eyes as I thought about being a target of Magnus' clients. The flirty client with power approach was not getting the job done. Every man loved to play hero or shoulder to cry on for a woman in distress. Adonis got up and came around the desk to lay a hand on my back. That wasn't good enough I needed him to console me.
"I am so sorry. My husband has been so cruel to me lately. He has called me a failure and threatening to-to-oohh."
I must submit my name for the Oscars because my performance was top notch. Adonis put his firm behind on my desk and pulled me to his midsection.
"Yasmine, that is so terrible. I know what it is like to have marital issues. I am sure that your husband would never harm you."
I knew he could do better than that. I sobbed a bit louder into his abdomen. His cologne was intoxicating. I breathed it in and felt the muscles on my face. Adonis was built underneath this too small suit.
That combined with the visual of Bash's dick print, and Magnus voice. I was getting warmth between my legs. I had not had sex for a few weeks with all this legal mess stressing me out.
I could go home and use a variety of toys or wait for Magnus to come home. But why wait when I had a man right here. I slowed my sobbing and looked up at Adonis and he had genuine concern written on his face. I had him right where I wanted.
"I just want to escape from my reality at times. Have you ever felt that way?"
I spoke just above a whisper and rubbed my hands on his chest. His eyes were darting to my door. Then the picture on my desk. The frame held Magnus and I smiling on the beach.
I laid it down flat while still staring in Adonis' eyes. He wanted it I could tell but was afraid. I pushed back in my seat and removed my blazer. I had a sheer black top on with the matching bra. Adonis gulped and I stood and moved between his legs. "Yasmine, I really don't think we should."
"Why not? Your wife is stepping out on you. I won't tell if you won't. For once in your life Adonis be the bad guy."
By the time I was done talking his shirt was completely unbuttoned. The toned chest before me looked to be hand chiseled by god himself. Lois may have been making a mistake stepping out on all this goodness. Adonis cupped my face with his right hand and planted a hungry kiss to mi lips. There was fire in his blood, and I was going to bring it all out on my desk.
