Chariot 3: Conception

Chapter 34 – Far

Far away from there, in a different space and time, those who would never forget Shoffer, V-Nus, Flumen or Cai Yiu and their mission were there, at the Nibirian Space Agency, monitoring any anomaly or movement surrounding their newest and most arguable creation: the black hole they proudly called DA-51.

Less than a day had passed since Chariot 3 had left Nibiru and entered its vortex in her first, and perhaps last mission. Everything was quiet until their readings suddenly spiked, indicating something had entered the black hole again at some point in time.

“What is…that? Sir, we have detected movement through the vortex of DA-51.” The female whose firm voice had earlier performed the count down of the launching of Chariot 3 was seated on an imposing metallic chair with its arms curiously high, leveled with the adjacent wide transparent table.

Her impeccable beauty featured with sharp traces that composed a harmoniously smooth face, from the perfect seized forehead down to her thin pointy eyebrows drawn on her skin and artificially green colored in order to cover up the planet’s natural loss of hair: an exotic but attractive blend. She had wide black eyes and a thin nose that led down to the perfectly abundant lips that her mouth was fortunate to have along with the most gracious and delicate combination that only her chin and chicks could exhibit. The peculiar tone in her brown skin would unveil her evident Martian lineage.

“Is that Chariot 3? Did they return yet?” The loud voice of the officer in charge was absorbed by her preoccupied mind.

Although her eyes were opened, she did not seem to be looking at any of what was taking place around her. Her attention was way beyond the communication platform she was stationed at or the busy room underneath the central transparent cubic room where she was seated.

Her tight overall, composed of a unique piece, was connected to a blue rubbery looking cowl covering her head, primarily used to amplify her capacity of processing the data received from the surroundings of DA-51 directly into her consciousness, in real time.

Underneath the room where Inanna was positioned, the other members of the Nibirian Space Agency helped to monitor the progress of the mission, one of the most crucial their civilization had ever been involved with, since Earth`s first colonization mission thousands of years prior to that day.

While Inanna had a clear image of what was happening, the others stared at the live projection of the black hole in front of them, hoping to see Chariot 3 somehow returning home.

“I am afraid I am unable to confirm whether it was Chariot 3 or not. Readings of the mass that crossed the vortex do indicate a probable match. However, unfortunately they did not return to our time as the movement appeared to have been from some point in the past to a time other than ours.”

“Thank you Inanna. Please keep me posted.” The peaceful voice of her superior sounded understanding. He knew there was not much more that could be done other than hope for the best.

“Sir. There is…there is more.” She hesitated. Her voice, telepathically broadcasted to her superior, trembled inside his mind.

“More? Please proceed, Inanna.” Concern was the unavoidable feeling that had immediately arisen.

“Sir, another unidentified object seems to have crossed DA-51 after Chariot 3.” An immeasurable sensation of powerlessness took over her soul, troubled with the potential severity of the unknown situation.

“Wait!” Inanna proceeded as she continued to receive the data flooding her mind. “There are other subjects crossing the black hole…three, four…” her superior`s concern started to rise at the pace she continued to count “…five, six, seven objects of identical mass have crossed DA-51`s vortex Sir!” At the pace the words were flowing out of her mouth she started to speak louder, her almost frenetic breathing had become evident.

Her expression changed. She froze. Her face paled.

Innana fought against herself, trying to not show the obviousness of her fragmented state.

Frustration.

“Inanna, we shall not be precipitated. Those could be meteorites or any sort of debris attracted to the hole as result of its singularity.” His austere demeanor had truthfully positive intentions, although they would be all in vain.

“Sir, I considered the possibility. But unfortunately those objects carry a peculiar electromagnetic field, normal to a broad variety of space ships, and absent on meteorites.”

“No, I can`t believe it…” Skeptic of her own words, she continued to update the team occupying the room underneath. “I…I regret to inform that seven unidentified bodies seem to have crossed DA-51`s vortex after Chariot 3. Each one of these bodies seemed to have an electromagnetic field and mass composition similar to the one of a small ship.”

“However…”she continued “behind these seven crafts there is an object of mass hundreds of times greater than themselves, something greater than anything I have ever seen before which leads me to conclude that it is potentially some sort of mothership.”

The strong, at the same time, calming voice then tried to tranquilize the rest of the group that was silent, staring at Inanna seated in the glassy room above them. “It is too early for us to be worried until we learn for sure what else has gone through the black hole after our crew. So far, all we can do is to keep close attention to any and all events around our creation and wish them a safe path.”

“I wish we knew that! I wish we all knew where they were being sent! I wish I had said goodbye…” Inanna lamented the secrecy of that mission, although, there was nothing that she could really have done to stop V-Nus from going. “He would have never refused the mission.”

At the pace a tear dropped from the corner of her sad eyes, memories, still fresh in her mind came back to life.

“V-Nus, I don`t want you to go!” She said with her eyes fixed on his.

“Don`t worry, I`ll be back sooner than you think.” V-Nus replied with a short smile while looking down on her face and touching her chin with his hand.

“Do you promise?” A tear run down her face. She closed her eyes.

“I promise.” His forehead touched hers as he stepped forward bringing her delicate chin close to his.

He closed his eyes, their lips encountered each other.

He kissed her.

She then opened her eyes, closed her semi-opened mouth and dried the tear out of her face while looking to the sides, wondering if someone would have seen her.
