Chapter 1883
Karina didn't want to interrupt Yvette, who seemed perfectly content chatting with Wilfred's friend. Instead, she turned to Wilfred, exchanging a knowing smile.
When the wedding finally wound down and the guests departed, Karina was exhausted from the long day but relieved to finally catch her breath.
Back at the home they had carefully decorated together, she felt a deep sense of peace she had never experienced before. Évery corner of the house carried traces of her efforts, and it felt truly hers.
"Long day, huh?" Wilfred's hands suddenly rested on her shoulders, applying just the right pressure to massage away her tension.
Karina tensed instinctively, her hand moving to cover his.
Wilfred gently moved her hand aside. "Relax. No need to be on edge."
Taking a deep breath, Karina reminded herself that things were different now. They were married.
"Thank you," she said softly.
Wilfred raised a brow, teasing her, "Are you planning to keep being this polite with me?"
She quickly fell silent, her face flushing as she noticed the playful glint in his eyes.
His gaze grew deeper under her shy stare. Leaning closer to her ear, he whispered, "The bath's ready. Want to join me?"
Karina struggled to find her voice, and though she didn't answer, her arms instinctively wrapped around his neck, conveying her emotions clearly.
With a smile, Wilfred scooped her up effortlessly.

Karina realized that married life was both familiar and unfamiliar.
The biggest difference was simply having someone to share her everyday moments with.
At first, it felt strange. Waking up to see another person's imprint on the pillow beside her always made her pause. Memories of the previous night would flood her mind, leaving her blushing for far too long.

But as time went on, those feelings of awkwardness melted away, replaced by a growing comfort and harmony between them.
Even at the hospital, their colleagues offered nothing but blessings for their marriage.
Returning to work after a brief leave for her wedding, Karina was greeted warmly.
"Good morning, Mrs. Wilfred! Back from your honeymoon already?" two nurses teased as they passed her.
Still unused to the title, Karina shook her head with a small laugh. "No need for that—just call me Dr. Norman."
Settling into her routine, she quickly got back to diagnosing patients with practiced ease.
When lunchtime rolled around, instead of heading to the cafeteria, Karina waited by the entrance, expecting someone.
It wasn't long before Wilfred appeared, right on time.
"Lunch outside, or are you thinking of the cafeteria today?" he asked casually.
Karina stood, grabbing the jacket he had left in her office that morning and draping it over his shoulders. "The cafeteria sounds good. Let's save a little money."
"Save money?" Wilfred repeated, amused.
Karina raised a brow. "Do you think things are the same now as before? We're married. Of course, we need to think about everything carefully and save wherever we can."
Wilfred refrained from reminding her about his considerable wealth. He knew Karina had always been frugal, and marriage hadn't changed that. There was no reason to make Ker change something she felt comfortable with.
Instead, he simply nodded. "Alright."

As they headed to the cafeteria, Karina brought up another topic. "By the way, about the donations we talked about before-funds for kids in underprivileged areas and for building community centers Now that I'm back at work, it's time to move forward with it."
This was something Karina and Wilfred had discussed before their wedding.
It was also part of an ongoing hospital charity project that many people had already joined voluntarily.
