Captured By A Ruthless Vampire King

Chapter |95| ~Operation Taking Cyrus Down Pt1~

Unedited.

Cyrus POV.

I've been calling the Commander's phone over and over again but it seems as if my beloved has picked up on my bad habit because the call continued to go to his voicemail and my texts have been unread and unanswered. She must have broken it.

Fuck, how did she get to Vlad's phone anyway? He's the best of the best! Fuck, fuck, fuck!

The universe seems to be conspiring against me. It's starting to feel like my beloved has a flair for dramatics. She always picks the wrong time to raise hell.

Darn, her! Fuck. I can't even reach any of my soldiers back at the estate.

With that thought, I shove my phone in my pocket before I rid myself of yet another one of these horrid devices. My monster is on the brink of the horizon. For the first time in history, when it comes to our beloved we're on the same page. She's driving us crazy.

"So, Embry is raising hell huh?" questions Seneca as he speeds throughout the forest. The two front windows are down, air rushing into the vehicle causing my hair to blow with the wind.

"Embry is always raising hell?" I admit with a sigh while running my free hand through my head

Fuck, I'm so stressed! "You look stressed the fuck out man," admit Senecas with a chuckle.

"He bought it on his self," says Luscious from the back of the truck while loading ammunition into the chamber of his gun.

"Shut the fuck up!" I snap, looking back at him. "Who side are you on anyway? You don't even like my beloved?"

"No one's!" he doesn't wait to respond. "And to be quite candid, your she-wolf is kind of rubbing off on me," he shrugs, officially annoying the fuck out of me.

Seneca's dark chuckle grows louder as he says, "I can wait to meet her,"

"Well, Apparently that's going to happen sooner than later because if we're not back before sunset I'll have to scout the entire forest to find her,"

"She's bluffing man," says Luscious. "That she-wolf may be stronger than most dogs but she's also smarter than most dogs as well. She won't go anywhere,"

"You wanna bet," I shake my head. "Embry's life purpose is to push me to the brink of hell. She's not bluffing. She is dead ass serious!" I shake my head again.

"Whelp! I guess I've got to have you back home before dinner," Seneca laughs louder as he pushes his foot down on the gas.

Embry's POV.

"I hate your fucking mate," spit's out Celine. We're currently in the infirmary making sure that Celine, Speck, and my furry little friend get the care that they need. I've ordered the medical staff to do whatever it takes to get them back into shape.

In fact, 'I've been ordering Cyrus's entire household around since we've left the dungeon. You will be surprised with one threat to call my mate could do, even when the phone is broken. One threat was all it took to place the entire household into a frenzy.

Starting with the soldiers, I've ordered them to take the rest of the night off each and every last one of them. They are under strict orders to stay at least 10 miles away from the house, which isn't that far just in case something goes down but it is still far enough. I understand that we are in the middle of a war and I will not leave this household or myself unprotected.

I'm far from stupid but I needed to provide some distance between them and myself.

Once they were taking care of, Alec helped me get the remainder of my loved ones to a car and got them all out of dodge. He claimed, to know a place to take them to so they all could lay low.

After that, I decided to give the human slaves and servants a night off as well. They could all use some rest if you ask me, especially the humans. It amazed me how thankful they were as I told them to get some dinner and then retire to their quarters for the night.

One human, thanked me over and over as I personally walked her to the slave quarters. She was so excited to get some rest and all I could think about how sad her situation truly is. I hate it.

She deserves so much more. They all do, even Jasmine who happens to be the only slave that I allowed to stay in the house. I haven't forgotten about her scent being blended with my so-called mate.

That's right! I'm calling him out about that betrayal as well.

Tonight is the night! It's about to go down. You see, Cyrus is the type of person that would continue to push, and push, and push into you have no choice but to push back. He thinks that hes' so ruthless. Well, I show him Ruthless!

He has officially poked the bear out of hibernation.

For the first time since I've met him, I am ready to release this Wilde wolf wrath.

"That makes two of us," Speck agrees with Celine, as the vampire nurse brings her mug filled with steamy blood. I watch Speck as she restores to her full health with every sip that she takes.

Before our very own eyes, we see her once purple and bruised up skin returns to normal flawless java skin tone. The purple bruises around her were rather stunning dark as night magically disappears. For the first time ever, I get a peep of Speck's natural and thick dark brain hair.

It's braided in about ten or so straight back cornrows that stop directly on top her of shoulder.

"Wow! That's some powerful shit," my wolf says to me and I couldn't agree more. Now, Celine on the other hand isn't doing so well.

I flinch as her penetrating screams fill the air as the nurse snaps some of her joints back into place. It pains me to see her this way. This is exactly why I wanted her to go with the others. Whenever Celine cries it makes me want to cry and Speck wounds minds of well be a stab to my heart as well. I love both of them way too much and apparently, the love is mutual.

The two of them absolutely refused to leave me here to deal with my mate alone. Both of them want in on making him pay. We're on a mission and it's titled: Operation Taking Cyrus Down.

On the other side of the coin, Abigail is operations no go. She is also in the infirmary with her beloved but they are in a room that is quite a few doors down from the room that we are currently occupying. It was more than evident that she wanted to get her beloved as far away from me as possible and I can't blame her honestly.

So far, I have attacked her beloved twice. The first time was when my wolf decided to bite him and the second time was recent when I decided to punch him in the face. Both times resulted in the Commander been bruised and bloody and it's all my fault.

Oh, Goddess! My friend and her beloved are going to end up hating me for life.

"Uh," I sigh, running my free hand throughout my hair. I'm so freaking stressed out.

"You look stressed out, Em Gem," points out Speck, making her way in my direction just to sit down beside me on the couch. As soon as she sits down, she smothers me to death by wrapping her tiny but also mighty arms around my frame. Her fresh scent overly invades my senses but I'm not complaining.

I've missed her so much. I can't help but indulge back in her bear hug, causing my furry little friend to yelp.

Oh, snap! I forget he was right here, sitting on my lap, chowing down on simmered beef stew and savory lamb stew cuts that I had the cook whip up on his behalf before I dismissed her.

"Sorry, To-To," I say, looking down at him before rubbing my hands throughout his soft white coat. He purrs like a cat before snuggling closer towards me and the next thing I hear is the sound of him catching some zzz', snoring loudly of course.

He's knocked the hell out. The contents of his dinner are spread all over his snout.

"I don't know why you call him To-To," Frowns Speck as she pulls away from me. "His name should be pig because that's all he does is eat, sleep and, take a shit, just like a barnyard animal," she add-in. Then, she picks up To-To just to place him, down on the other end of the couch.

"Anyway, back to what I was saying. You look terrible," Speck goes back to telling me how it is.

"You think, I just literally went through hell," I cry out."I've been abducted, almost remarried without being divorced, and then windowed before a ring could touch my finger. Followed, by finding out that my mate abducted and then order the execution of my loved one," I almost shout.

Of, course I look like crap! I feel like crap!

"Point taking," Speck agrees while taking another sip from out of her mug.

"But it will be alright," she promises. "Especially after you show Cyrus the Virus just how badass you really are. Celine, tell her that everything will be okay," she tells. After, she realizes that her words are going into one ear and out of the other.

"Yeah we both know that's a lie," Celine says straight up before releasing a high pitch scream as the nurse continues to nurse her back to good health that causes me to flinch again.

In response, Speck frustratedly sighs. "Where is Abigal when you need her," she says out loud.

Then gets up and walks towards the door.

"Where are you going," I decide to ask her. Oh, my Goddess! My head hurts. It's throbbing.

Which tends to be an everyday thing now. Headaches and heartaches.

That's it and that's all. And it doesn't help that my mate is the source of all my pain.

It sucks!

"I'm going to ensure that Abigail is okay and then I'm going to convince her to help me set some boobie traps before Cyrus the Virus and his entourage return. We've got to be ready for whatever." Her smile is sinister. "Plus, it's time to give the commander more drugs. We wouldn't want him to awake. Now would we?'

No, we wouldn't! In fact, that's the last thing that we would want.

"Cool," I tell her. I need some time to myself to figure things out anyway.

Speck just nods her head and leaves. I then decide to place my focus back on Celine, who is also now knocked out. The nurse currently whipping the sweat off her forehead. She must have passed out from all of that screaming.

Once, I make sure she's okay I decide to make my way to Cyrus's private chamber.

Our private chamber.

As soon as, I shut the door. I lay on the bed, trying to clear my head for about fifteen minutes. Shortly after, I realize that my mind shall not have any rest. I will never be at peace. At least, not as long as I grace this earth paired with my tyrant of a mate I won't.

He's way too dramatic for that.

Finally, bored with my own thoughts I decide to put some of my evening plans in place.

Operation Taking Cyrus Down move number one: Find some dirt to blackmail him and what better place to start my snooping around other than the room that he spends the most time in. Which just happens to be his private study that's connected to our room. Thank you, Goddess!

With that thought, I make my way towards the enormous ornate doors that leads into Private private study. At this point, I'm unfazed at how fancy every room seems to be in all of my mates private estates. Although I am caught off guard to find the massive portrait of myself, Aunt Katherine, and Cyrus that hangs overtop of the fireplace on the far side of the room.

I remember the day like it was yesterday. That's the photo that Aunt Katherine insisted that the three of us take during our first encounter. As always, she looks undeniable beautiful as she smiles down on both of us. Cyrus looks hauntingly handsome, which is another norm.

It truly does break my heart how annoyingly handsome my mate truly is.

Once upon a time, he could have my heart and I would break it for him. That is the first thought that comes to mind as I take in the dreamy glint in my eyes while the photo was captured as I stared at him.

Key Word's: Once upon a time because that time has officially been placed behind us.

It's long gone and thought alone is all it takes to place my focus back on the current task at hand. Forcing my eyes to break away, I place my focus on the scenery as I look at the window.

My eyes hone in on the display of gold or crimson leaves falling from the trees. Fall is slowly approaching. I can all but hear the sound of birds migrating.

Judging by the position of the sun, sunset is closely on the horizon. The rows on top of rows, of balsam fir trees, bring to my awareness that we are most likely located in the North-Eastern region of North America. The comprised of rocky ledges and outcroppings that lead to the breathtaking views of Mount Taurus and Storm King tells me exactly where we are.

This estate is placed on the highlands of Hudson, which happens to be extremely close to my uncle's pack land.

Maybe, about sixty miles or so, and the worst part about it all is that no werewolf would ever think that my mate would settle that close.

"How clever," says my wolfs while I begin to rumble through his desk. The first thing, I notice is that it's messy as hell, which is to be expected when Speck was not here to save his life.

There are massive piles of documents everywhere and when I say everywhere I mean everywhere. It would take an eternity for me to figure what exactly belongs with what.

On that note, I begin to ransack the draws attached to the desk. Again, I'm met with piles of use documents that don't seem to aid in the task at hand. "Check the computer," suggest my wolf.

Right? I place my focus on the computer. My father had one of these horrid things in his office, but it isn't as fancy or modern as my mate's computer is. "Oh, Goddess! It's locked," I growl while placing my hand on top of the small hardware thing a ma jiggy that magically makes the cursor appear.

"Calm down, Embry! The password can't be that difficult," sasses my wolf. "Let's think about it for a second. What does our mate value over anything else?"

"Blood," I type in only to be confronted with big red words flashing across the screen that reads Acess Denied.

"No, try something else like blood lust," encourages my wolf. Yeah, that's a good one, I think as I quickly type in the words just to once again be comforted with red flashing words.

"Blood Rush!"

"Bloody Fangs!"

"Blood banks'! my wolf calls out loud and wrong, each and every time.

"We've got one more attempt before we're locked out," I frustratedly snap at her.

"Wait! Let's just think about it for a second, Embry! What does Cyrus value over everything else, or more like who does he value over everything else?"

Well, that's simple. "Us," I admit while typing in one word "Sunshine!"

"We have a winner," whistles my wolf as I give her a mental high five. Seconds later, we're confronted with yet another memory of a time we spent with our mate and Aunt Katherine.

It was the day of our Wedding. The day that we said, I do and valued to love each other till death do us part. Another photo that Aunt Katherine was hell-bent on capturing.

"Photos are timeless they can truly capture the moment in such a way that shall remain even if our photogenic memory fades out," said Aunt Katherine as my mate's frown turned into a captivating smile. She always knew exactly what to say to make him smile. To make us smile, I miss her.

"Look Embry," points out my wolf. "There is a file that reads, "War Plans," I finish while clicking on the file.

"Checkmate," my wolf brags out loud. The file host The Vampire King's entire layout for the war against my people.

Laying Plans

Waging War.

Attack by Stratagem

Tactical Dispositions.

Reserving Energy

Weak Points and Strong

Maneuvering

Variation in Tactics

Jackpot! It's the whole nine-yard and then some, sent from no one other than The Violent Vampire King directly to my mate.

"No wonder why they call him a God of war." huffs my wolf. "This man is a genius in his own right," she adds in and I have to agree. My people never stood a chance. His plans are violently flawless, or at least they were but that shall all change now that I'm fully aware of their moves.

My father always said that knowledge is power and now that I know what their plans I can stop them before they even begin. This war will end and that's a promise, even if it's the last thing that I will do. I'll stop the pointless bloodshed.

In the next second, a sudden jolt of electricity snaps throughout my body, shocking me to the very core with such force it almost knocks me down onto the floor. Followed by another snap and then another.

That count's three. My eyes instantly seek out the position of the sun. It's sunset. He's here just in time and he bought reinforcements.

"He's here," Speck barges in the room. She must have succeeded in getting Abigail to help out because she and Celine run-in shortly after her.

"Did you feel that," asks Celine? "There are some deadly predators in close approximately.

"Yeah, about three," I tell them. "You felt the effect of the kings. Sort of like a warning set so other supernatural are aware of the deadly threat. It's time to put our plan into motion."

They all agree and Speck asks," Have you found anything useful? I'm sure it was like searching for a needle in a haystack without my presence, Cyrus documents are a mess. He's so freaking unorganized. It's annoying."

"Very much so," I nod my head. "But I found this," I tell her as she walks over towards the desk.

"You go girl," High five Speck before she right clicks on the small hardware thing a ma jiggy and then taps the word print.

A second later, a humming sound grabs my attention which causes me to turn my head. A weird black machine to the right of me beh=gisn to spit out paper.

"What in the ever Goddess?" I squeak and apparently, I'm not the only one caught off guard. Celine and Abigal nearly have a freight as well.

"It's called a printer," Speck laughs at us. "It's used for printing text or pictures onto paper. See," she shows me the same documents that were just on Cyrus's computer screen.

"Oh, my Goddess! It's magic," I say in awe.

"No, it's now. It's technology," Speck laughs harder.

"Now is not the time guys," interrupts Celine before she rushes to the door. "They are getting closer."

"Right! Assume your positions," I instruct. Then, I head towards the door myself just to stop in my tracks by the small present that looks just like the box that Aunt Katherine directed for me not to open until,...

No, it can't be! It can't. I think to myself as I rush over towards the end table.

Speck notices what grabs my attention right before she walks out of the door. "Cyrus took it from your father. He found it right after we noticed that you were abducted," she explains. I thought lost it. I can't stop the tears from falling out of my eyes.

"It was her dying wish," I explain.

"I know," she says, holding back her tears from falling herself. "I'll tell the girls to stall for longer than we originally planned."

Within the next second, she's gone. I take a moment to get my emotions under control. I just can't believe that it's here, untouched. Forgotten. It seems like I thought about this gift over and over, just to break my own heart every time it came to mind. I desperately wanted to know what was in this gift box.

"Here's your chance to find out," my wolf soothes. "Go head! Open it!'

Refusing to waste another second, I do as instructed, careful not to tear open the box. It's such beautiful packaging and it was more than obvious that Aunt Katherine took her time wrapping it. However, I never expected to find a uniquely crafted pure gold key locket engraved with the words "A queen will always turn pain into power," to fall out of the box.

My heart stops. Oh, My Goddess, it's so simple but yet so beautiful. It's the most breathtakingly beautiful piece of jewel that I've ever laid eyes on for sure.

The 24 karet locket is the black dress of all lockets. Starting by, its infinity design bail dressed with a 45.2 hoped diamond. That rest in the center of the locket glory.

I'm in awe as I stare at the masterpiece of jewelry, completed lost for words. My heart rate quickens as a tiny note falls out of the locket box.

My breath gets caught in my throat as I read the letter heading.

Dear Embry,

I want to start out by stating that there is always and will forever be power in words. Unfortunately, if you are reading this it means that I have reached the end of my story.

My clock has officially come to my end.

My time is up.

That's all it takes for my tears to pour, I can't take this. It is more than evident that Aunt Katherine was aware that her time was coming to an end.

She knew. She knew the entire time!

"Why didn't she say anything?" I choke. My wolf just remain silent, allowing her soothing energy to calm both of us.

With that thought in mind, I manage to muster the strength to read on.

There's no need for tears, my dear. Everyone's story comes to an end one day, even an immortal. Thus, is why it's so important to carefully construct the story that you wish to leave behind. You must, do whatever it takes to achieve in completing your lifetime goals, to leave a legacy.

My story has ended for now, but your story has just begun. Now, is the time where you will begin to leave your mark. I once told you that you were your mother's most valued gift and that you are your people's most valued gift.

I've meant every word.

I also expressed that you are the one and my nephew is your destiny, together the both of you will play a major part in what's to come but what I didn't tell you is that you must remain true to yourself at all cost.

Your human gentle nature is exactly what's needed to end a pointless war but at the same time, your more animalistic side has the power to defeat any threat that dares to steal away from your innocence.

Please, stay true to both of them and I promise that you'll be just fine.

There is strength in every weakness, my sweet girl. Your sweet soul is what keeps your more monstrous side at ease, learn how to live in harmony with one another. You must learn the proper formula to complement each other.

Balance.

You've been through so much and you still have a long way to go but I know for a fact that you shall leave behind one of the best stories that shall ever grace this earth.

I have faith in you and I want you to understand that a queen must learn how to turn her pain into power.

You're a queen, Embry!

Once, you master the art of channeling your pain, everything else shall fall into place.

Do you remember when I said that eight Kings and eight Queens shall be the world's Happy ever after?

I was talking about you, Embry. You shall be one of them. You will play a part in the world's happily ever after.

This locket is a token of my love. It's my gift to you, a little piece of my heart. Once, you find my heart please keep it safe and sound by any means necessary. This way, you'll always be close to my heart and I'll always be close to yours.

Value the bond of family ties over anything else.

No matter what, I know that you'll be the one to bring the treasures of my heart back home where she belongs.

I'm counting on you, my dear girl.

You are officially Embry Ettore, a dire part of my legacy.

P.S. Don't allow my nephew to push you to the brink of insanity. I know he can be quite a handful and trust me when I say that your hands shall always be full. I know that some days you will feel like that you are in an eternity of hell, but I make one promise to you before I go.

The two of you can make it and for that, I'm almost certain.

As long as you have each other you'll walk out of hell with a glass of water, holding hands of course!

In other words, you'll get through it all. Together.

I'm rooting for you in this life and the next. I love you, Embry more than you'll ever know.

Yours truly, Aunt Katherine.

For the next several minutes, I continue to sit on the sofa, reading her letter over and over again.

I just miss her so much.

Why does the universe have to be so cruel?

Why? All I can do is cry. I cry for her, I cry for myself, and most importantly I cry for him.

Any ounce of goodness that my mate's wretched soul once had was buried alive the day they took sweet Aunt Katherine's head and I may be the one person alive who can resurrect him.

I've got to make him face his demons.

I've got to do it.

Hey, love bugs. I've hoped you enjoyed the update. My next update shall be on Wednesday of next week!

I love you all 💕
