Captured By A Ruthless Vampire King

Chapter |92| ~ Silent War~

Unedited.

Embry POV.

My head hurts! Ouch, where I am? I open my eyes to yet another unfamiliar room but the hauntingly dauntless energy that floats in the air makes me feel at home.

Cyrus. He’s here, standing in the corner watching me like a hawk.

“Cyrus,” I breathe out while lifting up my head. Ouch! Ouch! Triple Ouch. My neck hurts like crazy and my throat is dry. What happened to me I think to myself while touching my forehead. My head is ringing and I can’t feel my wolf presence. Although, I know that she’s here, hiding within me.

That’s very strange when you consider the fact that we’ve been away from our mate for a very, very, very long time.

But none of that matter’s because he’s here in the flesh. Oh, my Goddess! He’s here, he’s here, looking like a tasty snack that I just have to devour.

Oh, crap! The ringing continues. Why does my head hurt so bad? It feels as if I was hit by a truck.

“What happened? When did you return,” my questions begin to swarm?

Instead of responding, Cyrus remains silent. He just stares at me with blazing scarlet eyes and this is the exact moment that I realize that I’m in trouble, triple stacks over. My mate is pissed for whatever reason. In fact, I can feel his anger ready to explode like a blastof hot tephra from the top of a volcano but for what is the question.

For some strange reason, I can’t seem to remember anything that has recently occurred besides losing ... Aunt Kath-

Oh, my Goddess! Oh, my Goddess! Oh, my Goddess! It hit’s me.

Every single event that has recently transpired runs throughout my brain like a flood. My body stiffens. Suddenly, I find myself in the middle of a thunderstorm. An extremely dangerous one.

Aunt Katherine’s death!

The Secret Society!

My family reunion, oh, my Goddess!

Jenkin, Farrah!!! The Lycan King Ethel abducted them and me, leading into the forced union, and then boom.

Thunder Claps, Cyrus killed him.

He blew his brains out, two shots to the head! He’s gone and there was so much blood.

I was soaked in blood from head to toe, but now I’m clean. Cyrus must have washed me up. Speaking of which, where are we? How did we get here and how long have I’ve been knocked out? Did he find my sister and nephew are well? Are they safe, my family... Our family.

Oh, Aunt Katherine. Our sweet, sweet Aunt Katherine. Does he know?! “Cyrus, Aunt Katherine was, was, was-,”

“Brutally murdered by your boyfriend’s father,” he finally talks. The volcano finally erupts.

It explodes.

Out of nowhere, fiery cloud races throughout this room, destroying almost everything in their path. Cyrus. He’s the fiery cloud. My heart shatters to pieces as he looks at me with pure disgust.

“And what do you do after,” he hisses at me while taking a single step in the bed direction. “You run off with a pack of mutts and traitors, disrespecting everything I built but most importantly betraying your so-called mate,”

My so-called mate? “Cyrus, I,”

“Shall not say a fucking word, your fucking disgrace,” he finally snaps, walking over toward’s me.

My words get caught in my throat, in a matter of seconds I forgot how to speak!

Disgrace?! Who me?! This has to be a nightmare on elm street. My mate world never, ever, ever say such a thing like that to me.

Seconds, later I’m sadly reminded that this is my reality as Cyrus places his body is in a threatening stance directly in front of the bedroom.

My heart stops as I come in close contact with the menacing expressionless look on his face.

He’s a mask. However, his eyes are frightening. They snatch my soul away and bury me alive.

They break me. Those golden halos that were once filled with so much love when he looked at me are now filled with so much hatred. He hates me. I can see it in his face and feel it through our open bond. My mate hates me and that thought alone is all it takes to crush my world. I can’t take it. My heart’s crippled by that indefinite truth. My mate hates me.

A single teardrop falls down my eyes and my wolf begins to cry hysterically within me.

His words cut so deep she can’t even speak.

She feels it too, he hates me. He hates us.

“Cry me a river,” his next words officially cut my heart in half. I choke.

“Cry me a fucking river, Embry,’” he turns his back on me. “Cry for your people because today marks a new dawn in my country. Every single wolf shall die by my hand and that’s a promise. Starting with your family,”

“You will not touch my family,” my wolf roars. Finally, finding her voice. “You will not touch my-,”

“Awe finally,” he taunts, I can hear the amusement in his voice. “I’ve been waiting for you, little wolf,” he turns back around to face us with a smirk. “I’ve been ready to put a muzzle on you once and all,”

“A muzzle,” my wolf smirks back at him and if you were on the outside looking in you wouldn’t think that his words hurt but I can feel her pain. Our pain. It’s taking everything out of her to put on a brave face. “You know what, I think your the one who needs to put a muzzle on,” she snaps.

“You know what I’ve got a better idea,” he snaps back, sarcasm just drips from his tongue. “How about I put a muzzle on your dad first? Then, your brother and finally that shameful cousin of yours,” he spits with such venom and I know my mate well enough to when he’s dead serious. His words aren’t a threat. He would harm them, all of them just to hurt me and for that I’m sure.

He’s! “Unbelievable,” my wolf speaks my unspoken word. “How dear you threatening my family? You are my mate. My protector. My love, you were supposed to love me!”

“Oh trust me when I say that I do love you, sunshine,” His scarlet eyes bleed. His dauntless energy grows.“My love for you is the only reason why you still have breath in your body consider yourself lucky,” he dares to say before turning to walk out the door, leaving my wolf and I stuck.

Did he just? “What’s that suppose to mean?′ My wolf growls, unable to help herself.

With a loud roar, he picks up a glass mahogany floor-length lamp and sends it flying across the room. The lamp shatters into tiny red pieces just like my heart. It’s broken. There is a huge dent in the wall now. He moved so fast. One minute he was by the door and then the next minute he’s back hovering over top of me.

He’s officially in predator mode and I would be lying if I say that I’m not afraid of him but my wolf clearly doesn’t give a... “What are you going to do, Cyrus,” she sasses, staring directly in the eyes of his monster. “Kill me,” she edges him on. My overly sensitive ears hear someone’s footsteps running towards us.

“Don’t test me,” he goes to say, official leaving me stunned.

Very soon, King Lucious the barbaric King, and Claire’s bodyguard come bursting through the door, even still my wolf finds the courage to continue the battle. ” You don’t have the balls,” she laughs. Are you going to return your special gift back to the Goddess, your maker,” She challenges him.

“Gift,” he laughs back. His forehead is now pressed against our forehead. His lips are now dangerously close to our lips. I can feel his fangs, just aching to be sunken into someone’s throat.

“Yes, gift,” she pushes him further.

“Ha, that’s funny,” he pushes back, with a laugh or more like a dark chuckle. “Because this so-called gift seems to be more like a curse,”

My heart stops. Physically stops, out of nowhere I feel like I can’t breathe, I can’t think. I can’t speak and my wolf is also silent. Now, she’s officially stunned.

A curse? He feels like we’re a curse, his curse.

“Sire,” calls out Claire’s bodyguard, sounding concerned.

“This so-called gift wasn’t a present from the heavens,” my mate doesn’t falter. “In fact, it feels more like of a life sentence of torture, delivered directly from your Goddess in hell and left on my doorstep. You are my curse, Embry. An overly emotionally little puppy that can’t help but too hurt herself. Every ounce of pain that you have endured and shall endure for the rest of our lives are on you,”

“I regret ever laying eyes on,” and that’s what it takes to have me burst out in tears, just like my mate said. I’m crying a river.

“Cyrus, enough!” warns King Lucious from behind us. “That’s enough,″ he reasons, genuinely sounding concerned.

Cyrus places his angry gaze on the barbaric king. His bleeding eyes are soulless. Not even a second passes before his eyes are placed back onto me and just for a second, I can see the hurt.

He’s in pain. He’s hurt and my father always told me that hurt people hurt people but I don’t deserve this type of treatment. No one does. This time he went too far and at that exact moment, I close off our bond.

Slam, shut! I will not take that type of verbal abuse from anyone, no matter how much I love him and no matter how much it hurts.

We’re done and he knows it.

It’s over.

Wordless, he turns to the door and rushes out of the room.

He runs and I’m left here broken.

All I can do is cry.

*****

3 days later

Whoever said, sticks and stones would break your bones but words shall never hurt them is a liar.

A big fat liar because the truth is that words hurt like hell!

Cyrus’s words hurt like hell.

His words crushed me. For the last past few days, they’ve been playing over and over inside of my head, haunting me or at least haunting the ghost of the person that once resided inside of me. I don’t know who or what I am anymore.

I’m a shatter of that girl that I use to be.

I’m depressed. I’m hurt. I’m broken.

There’s a silent war going on within me, all around me and I’m losing the battle.

I’m drowning.

Dark than the ocean, deeper than the sea that’s the depts of my misery. I feel like I’m being swallowed whole in my very own sorrow. There is no longer any sign of life within me.

I’m alone inside of this hauntingly beautiful estate, even though it’s filled with servants and vampire guards roaming around completing their tasks on a daily all around me.

I’m down. Bad.

My whole world has been turned upside down. First thing first, there hasn’t been any sign of anyone significant to me and that includes my mate. I haven’t seen him since, since... Since he broke my heart into a million and one little pieces.

I haven’t seen Speck or Gutter Butter for that matter, nor have I seen any one of my family members. I could only hope that all of them managed to escape before my mate learned of the secret society location because the only Goddess knows what he would have done to them in his current state of mind.

Secondly, my sister and nephew have also been out of arms reach. I know that they are safe. I can feel their bond thriving inside of our bond, which has officially been resealed sometime ago, but I don’t know where they are. Thankfully, they are together and Jenkins is safe. That’s all that matters.

My brother, cousin, and father are also safe, but our bond ties feel so weak. It’s like they are there but not there. I don’t I can’t explain it. Hopefully, it’s an effect of the distance.

I’ve also been praying for another family reunion. I miss them.

I miss them all very much, including Anastasia and Abigail.

I need them, I’m a lonely girl. My wolf has also checked out.

It’s only, me, myself, and I. How depressing?

Oh, Claire’s bodyguard has been here as well. The Commander, he’s been stuck to my side like glue but unlike my Gutter Butter. This vampire doesn’t have much of a personality. He’s a statue.

In three whole days, he hasn’t spoken to me. He just watches me and it creeps me out, just like right now. I’m currently looking out the window, watching the rain pour and he’s staring at me from the other end of the room, as if he’s preparing to leap just in case I do something foolish like jump it of the window to escape my trouble’s.

He’s making me feel I’m sort of a mentally ill patient like I’m so disturbed.

“You are disturbed,” my wolf speaks for the first time in days. “We both are and it’s nothing wrong with that, Embry. We’ve been through hell and back. We need to heal,”

“You’re right,” I silently mumble. “We need to heal,”

My wolf responds with a chuckle, “And we need to laugh, and eat ice cream, watch old human chick flicks like we use to do when we were younger with Kaya and Celine whenever one of us experienced a heartbreak,” she continues. “Do you remember Athias,”

“Wood?” I finish her sentence with a dark chuckle of my own. “Of, course I do! How could I ever forget?”

“Toothless Athias,” we say in unison.

He was our first crus, our first heartbreak, our first everything! He was the wolf that set us straight and placed us on the path of waiting for our...

“Mate,” my wolf finishes. “After that heartbreak, you swore to the Goddess herself that you would ner love again until we met our mate and that’s exactly why Luke had a chance, no matter how drop-dead gorgeous and charming her maybe.

“Poor Luke,” I agree with a silent sigh. She’s right he never had a chance.

“Yes, poor Luke,” she agrees. Can you believe that’s its’s been over ninety-five years since our first heartbreak? Ninety-five whole years?”

“Yeah, we were like five,” I laugh at that realization.

“Exactly, we were just a pup, and do you remember what Celine did when she found out what he did?”

Oh, my Goddess! “How could I ever forget?”

She punched him right in the face, literally knocking his tooth out. That’s how he got the name toothless Athias.

“Yeah, she did,“’my wolf laughs along with me. “But that’s not what I’m talking about. I’m talking about what she dis afterward,” my wolf says to me causing me to think.

A long-drawn-out moment goes by before I repeat the words that my cousin once said to me.

“Be Kind, Be Gentle, and then look in the mirror and say that I Embry am a badass pup, who cares if he doesn’t see me for all the wonderful things that I am. I see me, and I’m that,”

“Pup,” my wolf censors out Celine’s words. “You Embry are that wolf,”

Yeah, I agree! A small smile stretches out across my lips. I Embry is that wolf.

“Say it out loud,” my wolf continues to laugh along with me.

Yeah! Yeah, I sure well! “Be Kind! Be Gentle!” I repeat inside of my head before looking at my reflection through the window and reciting out loud that, “I Embry am a badass pup, who cares if he doesn’t see me for all the wonderful things that I am. I see me, and I’m that bitch!”

A sudden burst of someone choking on their own laughter from behind me causes me to have a fright!

Oh, my Goddess! I think to myself as I turn around to see no one other than Commander Vlad currently bend over almost dying from laughter being the source of my embarrassment.

Oh, shoot! How humiliating?

See, that’s exactly what I mean. He’s so quiet that I always seem to forget that he’s here.

And now, I’m embarrassed to death! Oh, Goddess! Help me. The commander continues to laugh at me and I continue to suffer in awkwardness into my wolf suddenly says, “His scent,”

His scent?! What about his scent.

“Oh, Embry! Open your nose human,” she almost yells at me.

This is when I decide to take a deep whiff and it hit’s me like a ton of laundry detorgant blended with his unique fragrance.

Fresh linen!

Oh, my Goddess! Oh, my Goddess! Hold on, wait! Why would he smell like...

“Abigail,” I say, which causes commander Vlade to freeze in place.

Not even a second goes by before the Commander return to his usual stone figure as if he didn’t hear me, but it’s way too late for that.

Nope! Goddess, save me!

“Where is Abigail?” I ask him, refusing to waste another second. He’s been around here recently.

How could I have not realized it before? What is wrong with me!? The commander continues to look at me with a blank expression, refusing to show any sign of emotion but my wolf refuses to give up so easily and so do I, surprisingly.

We storm over in his direction with our wolf claws blazing ready for a fight if that is what it shall take. We don’t care! Our friend is here and this vampire is going to take us to her right now or so help me Goddess I will rip out his fangs with my bare paws.

“I swear to Goddess,” growls my wolf. “You will take me to her right now or I will rip out your fangs with my bare paws and feed them to your so-called King,” she threatens, and I’m here for it.

The commander continues to stare at us with the most nonchalant and unbothered expression that I’ve ever seen before he finally releases a long sigh and say, “Fine, this way,”

Wow! That was easy I think to myself as he turns to walk towards the door but I won’t dear say that out loud. Instead, I just follow his command with a gigantic smirk on my face.

Abigail, I’m on my way.

There you go, into next week my loves. I hope you enjoyed.
