Captured By A Ruthless Vampire King

Chapter |64| ~ Happy Never After~

Unedited.

Embry’s POV.

“What did she mean when she said just wait until she bares birth to his youngest daughter? How did she know that my mom would give birth to another pup? I question Lady Katherine, stopping her in mid-sentence.

“Aunt Katherine,” she corrects me, letting me know that she’s still in my head.

“My apologies, Aunt Katherine,” I correct myself as well with a soft smile.

Aunt Katherine smiles back. “Aurora is the most powerful witch of all time, darling. She knows a lot of predicted events. That’s just one of her many gifts,”

Hold, on wait! Aurora the powerful witch! Now, why does her name sound so familiar? Aurora the powerful witch as in the powerful witch Aurora. Aurora, A.K.A the wicked witch from the western tales. Oh, my Goddess! Aurora...

Lady Katherine burst of laughing.“Yes. I’m referring to Aurora the all-powerful wicked witch,” she waves her hands while wiggling her fingers in front of her face in an eerie type of way.

“You really know her?′ I ask with wide eyes. I really don’t know why I’m so surprised. Lady Katherine, I mean Aunt Katherine is considered to be a political figure in the supernatural community so it does make a lot of sense that she is friends with other political figures.

Aurora is known to be the mother to all covens, mother of the most powerful family in the world and the Queen of all witches and warlocks included. She is a legend, who walks amongst us mere mortals. No one and I mean no one messes with Aurora unless they have a death wish and every single supernatural creature that exists seeks to be accepted by her family.

She has seven daughters and all of them are said to be wickedly attractive and extremely powerful, deadly even. That’s one of the many issues that my people have with Aurora and her witches because no one knows how powerful they actually are.

There are centuries worth of nightmares that are told about Aurora’s family, but I’ve never believed any of them. They are unbelievably freighting, to scary to be true. My father, on the other hand, believes every single one of them. He used to always say that all legends and myths are formed by some type of truth.

“He’s always been a very smart man,” Aunt Katherine pitches in, bringing me back to reality. “All legends and myths are very much indeed formed by some type of truth,”

“So the stories are true?” I take a deep breath while leaning back in my chair. “So she truly is as evil as they say is,”

“As evil as they come,” Lady Katherine says with a smirk and I can’t help but to gape at her. “Fortunately for you, darling you have nothing to fear,” she adds in a second later. “Aurora is extremely evil and can surely raise hell on earth but she’s still a cunning folk, despite her dark root heritage. Plus, she’s on your side,”

My side! What does that mean? “What do you-,”

“How’s the golden hair chosen?” Aunt Katherine cuts me off before she picks up her cup of tea and take a long sip.

The Golden hair chosen? Claire?! What does she have to do with this? “She’s great,” I say, I mean I think she’s doing okay.

Now that I’m thinking about it I don’t remember saying goodbye to her before we left the demon King estate but that’s neither here or there. At least, it’s not important right now. The question of importance right now is why Aunt Katherine decided to suddenly bring up Claire? Actually, how did she even know that I’ve met Claire in the first place?

“I’m a vampire Lady, Embry,” Aunt Katherine answers my unspoken question. “Not too much gets around me,”

“Do you know Claire?” I ask her before I realize how stupid I sound. Of course, she does. Everyone who is someone is all buzzing about Claire, the golden hair chosen.

“Yes, I know the chosen one,” she answers with a smile and before I can respond she says, “Now what was I saying about that night,”

“Something about your good friend predicting my birth,” I remind her.

“Oh, yes!” she smiles. “Shortly, after Aurora and I conversation your mother and I experienced our very first encounter with one another,”

The Awakening

Lady Katherines POV.

I watch quietly as my adopted niece Bella and her destined slowly approaches the elevated platform. The platform has been spelled to float above our heads around the ballroom and the once carefully painted with many Lycans nobilities tales from another lifetime higharched ceiling has been replaced with transparent emerald stained glass so you can see the dazzling stars and full moon above. There are also lit white candles floating above our head as well to create a more Wicca effect.

The new interior design also provides an impeccable view of the scenario surrounding the famous Lycans mountains. It’s magical, I swear. This ball is the epitome of a storybook wedding. Aurora has truly outdone herself, as always. I wouldn’t expect anything less. She has ensured that her paramour’s descendants received nothing but the best of everything. Jazlyn will be so proud.

It’s time for the couples mating ritual to begin so a bonfire will be sparked in their honor. I can feel the excitement floating around in the air. All supernatural species, Lycans, werewolves, witches, vampires, gypsies ext all loves a good bonfire. It’s one of those things apart of each supernaturals culture, even though it’s done differently depending on which species is creating it, or why the fire is sparked at all.

The witches per se, typically don’t spark bonfires for unions. However, they do partake in many other rituals for such scarce gatherings. The lit white candles floating above my head happens to be one of them, out of respect for Bella’s heritage even though she’s technically a human. She was raised by witches and in the eyes of Aurora that makes Bella a witch as well. Plus, she can draw forth the power of Aurora’s emerald. So, that makes Bella an extremely powerful witch at that.

On the other hand, like werewolves, the Lycans are known to spark a bonfire at their mating unions out of respect for their Goddess unions. Typically, they tend to do other things as well like recite vows, half shifted, mate in front of the guest and then bite into one another’s necks.

It’s so strange. Still to this day, it’s hard for me to watch two half shifted beast hump each other legs, especially when a human is involved. It’s quite frightening and the main reason why I typically don’t attend the event when invited. Thankfully tonight is a mixed species event so I won’t have to see anything of the sort.

My focus shifts back to the podium as the room quotes down and the Lycan King clears his throat. “Before we begin, I want to thank everyone who has come to celebrate our grand union,” Silence. There is an audible silence, the crowd doesn’t burst out in shouts of joy, whistles or wolf howls like it typically would.“I want to send my blessing to each and every soul here that have attended,” he lies through clenched teeth.

“What a douche bag,” says a familiar voice from behind me. It’s her again, the Wilde Wolf mate.

I turn around to introduce myself, “Lady Katherine from the House of Ettore,” I extend my hand out in her direction.

“Larentia Lakewater just a simple omega wolf,” she takes my hand and then we shake. I can’t stop the smile that spreads out across my lips from her introduction. “Rumor has it that you’re mated to a Wilde wolf. Your so much more than a simple omega,”

“Nope! I’m a simple omega alright, I just happen to be a very lucky one or maybe a not so lucky one depending on how you look at it,” she tells me off with a mischievous smile.

“Little Lake,” huffs out her mate as he appears from behind and wraps his arms around her waist. Larentia Lakewater’s entire face light’s up. I can literally see her whole body as it begins to buzz with excitement.

As I take in the Wilde wolf Hunter for the first time up close, I honestly can’t blame her. Tall and strong with piercing blue eyes, and an extremely handsome face. Oh, wow! Hunter Wilde is such a good catch and the two of them together are stunning.

“Your were supposed to be laying low. We wouldn’t want the Lycan King to finish what you started earlier? Now, would we?”

“No! We wouldn’t,” she loops her arms around his neck after turning around to face him. “Because then I would have to be saved by the big bad Wilde wolf and everyone who knows him knows that he will blow this extravagant Palace down,”

“Is that right?” He raises one of his finely arched eyebrows while gazing into her hazel eyes and that’s when they exchange a look.

The look.

The type of look that lovers exchange. His piercing blue eyes were made only for her. They soften only for her and it’s more than obvious that her feelings are mutual. They are madly in love.

“Lady Katherine, this is my mate, Hunter Wilde,” Larentia introduces, finally able to take her eyes off her mate. “Hunter this is Lady Katherine from the house of Ettore.”

The Wilde wolf eyes briefly flash golden once he processes his mate words. Then they exchange a look, along one clearly mind-linking with one another before the Wilde wolf extends out his hands. “It’s a pleasure to meet you,” he bluntly lies.

“The pleasure is all mine,” I smile as I take his hand to shake.

Hunter Wilde stares at me for a long-drawn-out moment before he places his attention back onto his mate.

“Well, if you excuse us, Lady Katherine,” he takes his mate hand, attempting to get her and his self the hell out of dodge. “I’d believe it’s time for us to retire for tonight,”

“But I’m not ready to-,”

“Uncle Hunter,” an absolutely adorable pup with unruly dark hair and pretty brown eyes cuts in from behind him. “Fair bear is being mean to me,” she pouts not even a second later.

“Don’t worry lin bean, uncle Hunter is here to save the day,” responds Hunter Wilde as he lifts the absolutely adorable pup up from off the ground and spins her around. The pups 3D Floral Appliques emerald ball gown goes flying around along with her as her tiny little voice squeaks.

“There you are!!” yells another wolf, a Wilde wolf by the look of him. Yes, he’s a Wilde wolf indeed, and if I had to take a guess I would say that they are brothers. He too is tall and strong with a handsome face but he doesn’t share his brother’s piercing blue eyes. Instead, he was blessed with a pair of piercing silver ones.

“I’ve been looking all over for you, come here before your mother has a freight,”

“I was hiding from you daddy,” says the cute little pup as her uncle hands her over to her father. “I’m not ready to leave,”

“I know my little Celine, I know,”

Embry’s POV.

“You’ve met my cousin, Celine and my uncle Grayson,” I stop Lady Katherine in mid-sentence. Uncle Grayson was Celine’s dad. He too was loved by my people. He was actually considered to be everyone’s favorite Wilde. I wish that I could have met him. I’ve been told nothing but good things about him.

Lady Katherine flashes a coy smile. “Yes, darling. I’ve met your Uncle. He was the one who introduced me to my Ghost but that too is a tale to tell another day,” she stares in space.

“What was he like?’” I just have to ask. “My uncle was he,”

“As brave, loyal, and sweet as they say that he was,” she finishes for me. “Your cousin, Celine absolutely adored him and anyone with eyes could see that the feeling was mutual. Grayson loved his pup,”

How could he not? Celine is amazing, I think to myself while staring out the window. I miss her.

I miss both of my favorite cousins, Kaya and Celine. Why does fate have to be so cruel? Why can’t they be here with me right now, planning my mating ceremony?

We were all so close, I would have never thought that our future’s would separate us in the most awful way.

This isn’t the way that it was supposed to be. We were supposed to grow old together, raise our pups and continue to be one big happy family. That was our dream. That was my dream.

“How is she doing, Celine?” Suddenly questions, Lady Katherine drawing me back in. ” Is she safe?”

“I don’t know,” I tell her the truth as my eyes start to water. “I can no longer feel my bond to them. She hates me. They hate me,” I begin to break down.

In a heartbeat, I find myself in Lady Katherine’s arms. She pulls my close to her chest and strokes her soft finger throughout my hair as my tears flow freely down my face. “I’m a traitor,” I choke out. “I choose my mate over my blood and they hate me for it.”

“There, there, child,” she shh’s me. “You are not a traitor. You can’t help who you love, no one can. Give your family time, my sweet child. They will come around,”

“No, they won’t,” I’m crying my heart out. “You don’t know my fami-,”

“Actually, I do,” she interrupts me before slightly pulling away. Then Aunt Katherine looks me directly in my eyes as she says, ” Your family are legends in the werewolves community for many reasons. Everyone knows that to be a Wilde wolf is a blessing because Wilde wolves are bold, beautiful, brave, and most importantly,”

“Bonded for life.” I cut Aunt Katherine off as I lift up my head and then finish reciting the words that my dad use to say to me every night before he tucked me into bed. “Nothing or no one can come in between the Wilde,” I cry out my last words.

“No one,” Aunt Katherine kisses the top of my head before she pulls my body back in. We sit in silence for a long while after that with me attempting to calm myself down and Aunt Katherine assisting me by gently rubbing her hands throughout my hair. “Those were the exact words that your mom said to me on the last day that I saw her,” suddenly, says Aunt Katherine. “It was on the same day that she gave birth to you,”

The day that she gave birth to me? Hold, on! Wait! “You were there?” I question Lady Katherine while attempting to make sense of what she just said. The Awakening?! That was the day that my mother took her last breathe and I took my first?

Instead of responding right way, Aunt Katherine plants a gentle kiss down onto the top of my head and pulls away. Then she stands up from out of her seat and makes her way over towards the window. Once there, she stares out of the window for a long while before finally, she begins to speak again.

“The Awakening was a day of death for all species, even though it was initiated by my species doesn’t mean that all vampires were agreeance with it. Some vampires like I, for example, fought against it,”

“But Cyrus,” I begin to object.

“Yes!” she objects back. “Cyrus is my nephew and my most prized possession. I’ve always had his back and always will but I don’t agree with all of his life choices and never will, especially when it came to the Awakening war. I will never support a cause that I don’t believe in,” she continues to explain. “Some of my closers friends and allies we’re not apart of my species and your mother was one of them,”

Aunt Katherine closes her eyes while pausing for a long while and not even a second later one single red tear escapes from out of her closed eyelids. I watch her closely, studying her features. I know that look that is plastered all over her beautiful face. It is the same look that I’ve seen on my dad, aunt, and siblings faces whenever they speak about the Awakening. It is the same look that I have seen on just about every other pack member face when they tell their point of view of the tale.

I can visible see her pain. I can visible sense her dread. The Awakening truly did leave a negative impact on many lives forever. Aunt Katherine is haunted by that day and she always will be just like everyone else.

“After my dear old friend’s daughter’s wedding,” she begins once again. “Your mother and I kept in contact with one another. We were so close that I would even visit the Western Pack territory whenever I was in town just to check on her, so it was only right that I warned her and your pack about the danger that was heading towards their door stops,”

The Awakening

Lady Katherines POV.

I head towards the Western pack at full speed, hoping and praying to the Blood God himself that I make it there in time to warn one of my dearest friends. The Awakening is what my species are calling it, the act of how my species is introducing ourselves into the human world. In nationality, it’s a cleansing. This shall be the day that the world will change forever in the most horrific way that anyway could ever imagine. And the wrath of my people are heading right in this direction.

I can’t allow that to happen. I won’t. My consciousness will not allow it. I will save as many lives as possible even if it’s the last thing that I do, I don’t care if that marks me as a traitor to my own species or worst, a traitor towards my own flesh in blood, my nephew. My actions may even be considered to be treason or maybe the cause of my already predicated death but still, I don’t care.

Some members of the Western Pack are too considered to be my family. We may not be bonded by blood but we are bonded by years of loyalty. I know for a fact that if the tables were turned that they will surely risk their lives for me, especially Larentia. She is one of the Kindest she-wolves that I’ve ever encountered. She doesn’t deserve what’s coming her way, no one does. That’s exactly why I’m willing to give up my title, properties, and legacy to keep them safe.

Right is right and wrong is wrong. I’ve been told to pick a side and stay there, so I have. I’m choosing the right side. I’m choosing to fight against my species.

My mate Ghost Falls and his daughter Night Falls has decided to accompany me on this dangerous journey. Both of them are highly skilled hunters and have been trained to eliminate my species. If anyone can assist me with saving these people they can, this is what they have been created for. Plus, there was no way that the love of my life was going to go into hiding why I risk my life. He is way to brave for that and his daughter is just as if not braver than him, so here we are.

We continue to run through the smooth sands of Gold Bluffs Beach in record time. The crisp smell of the ocean flows freely up my nostrils and the crashing black waves sound thunderous inside of my overly sensitive ears. The dark grey clouds are an indicator that a storm is on the horizon. Almost a second later, a flash of lightning strikes illuminating the Westerns Pack main house from afar as it comes into view.

“Stop!” says Ghost. His voice is low, too low. His milky white eyes travel in the direction of the Golden prairie that surrounds that beach. Despite our age difference, his senses of smell are way more advanced than my own, believe it or not. “Do you smell that?” He asks sniffing the air.

Night Falls takes a step forward. Her dirty blonde hair blows with the wind as her nostrils flare widely, “Vampire’s,” she’s hiss through clenched teeth. “They’ve been here.”

“They might still be here,” I snarl, waisting no time breaking back off in a full fledge run towards the packhouse.

Seconds later, my sense of smell is invaded by the distinctive smell of burning wood and more frighteningly death. The Western pack is under attack and is in complete chaos. Vampire soldiers are currently raiding their homes, killing their men and attempting to rape their women. Pack wolves of all ages are defending their land with everything in them, but it’s not enough.

None of them are aware that this is only the beginning and none of them are prepared for what’s to come. Things are about to go from bad to worst before their very eyes and it’s nothing that I can do about it, but I can buy them some time.

“Katherine,” shouts Ghost from behind me, most likely thinking the same thing that I’m thinking.

“It’s time,” shouts his daughter a second later.

“I’m on it,” I shout back, without breaking my pace.

My feet barely sink into the cool sand as I charge in the packs territory direction quicker than a human can blink. If my heart could beat, I’m almost certain that it would be pounding the alarm inside my chest. I approach the tiny, charming beach styled cabins that are set ablaze on high alert.

From a far, my eyes lock onto Larentia Lakewater and her daughter Farrah Wilde standing in the middle of all the chaios. A total of three vampire soldiers are circling around the two of them. Larentia Lakewater is currently crouched over, holding her stomach howling out in pain as her daughter Farrah Wilde sizes up their opponents. Her dress is tattered and crimson red droplets rushes out like a river down her left leg, but yet she still stands in her glory.

“Your father and uncles are dead, Wilde wolf,” hisses out one of the soldier’s. “Stand down to save your mother and her unborn mutt,”

“Fuck you,” she spits blood out in the soldier face before moving faster than lightning can strike in his direction, intercepting all of her attackers defenses and then issuing out a series of viscous attacks of her own.

One of the soldiers snares before charging in her direction as if he’s ready for her and as soon as he receaches her. Farrah shifts into a her magnificent full fledged gray and white wolf, jumps over top of his body and then lands on top of the bed of blood stained sand with his head hanging freely inside of her wolfs jaws.

Just like that, he’s dead and just like that, she is victorious! She is a Wilde.

“Watch your back,” screams out Larentia Lakewater as another vampire soldier attempts to pounce on top of her daughters wolf form from behind. That is when everything and everyone slows down in slow motion in front of me.

For just a second, I pause and then close my eyes. Almost instantly, I can feel the fire blazing throughout my frame and boiling inside of my blood as I channel my wicked power to the surface and by the time that I open my eyes, every single vampire soldier present goes flying into the Pacific Ocean. Once inside, I snap my fingers, which cracks their necks in the process.

Just like that, they are swimming with the fishes, and just like that they are dead. I’ve managed to save the Western Pack for now.

However, the worst is yet to come. This is only the beginning.

Embry POV.

“It was you,” I whisper in awe as I take in the story that I’ve been told over and over since I was a pup. “You were the woman that came to my peoples rescue, saving thousands and delivering my mother pu-,” I pause.

Oh, my Goddess! Oh, my Goddess! Oh, my Goddess!

“You, you, you, but your a vampi,”

“Vampire,” she smiles, finishing my sentence as scarlet drips flows freely from out of her eyes. “I saved your life Embry and promised your mother that I will always be there to protect you no matter what but it came with a price,”

“My title, my properties, and my lands were stripped away and passed down to my heir only because he participated in the take over, other than that we would have nothing. I’m considered to be a traitor amongst my own kind but I’m still respected no matter what because,”

“You followed your heart,” this time I’m the one to finish.

“Yes, I did and I don’t regret it at all because it was the right thing to do,” she tells me with a smile.

“And that’s the reason why you stopped campaigning for species equality because you can’t but you still manage to,”

“Take a stand throughout my heir who is now mated to a very special shewolf, who happened to be born on the Luna Passing day,” she smiles, more to herself than to me. “The same she-wolf pup that I risked it all for,” she smiles wider as she walks back over towards me.

Then, Lady Katherine lifts up my chin with her finger and stares me directly in my eyes as she says, “Your union to my nephew is much bigger than your family or my own. The chosen one has arrived and she will need all the back up that she can get on her tragic journey. All of your stories have been written way before either one of you decided to flip the first page of the book,”

“One thing that we all knew about your mother was that she believed in fate. She valued your Goddess gifts and would have cherished any one of them for the rest of eternity,” she cries her heart out to me without breaking her smile.

“You were your mothers most valued gift, Embry. You are your people’s most valued gift, Embry. You are the one and my nephew is your destiny, together the both of you will play a major part in what’s to come,”

“Eight Kings and Eight Queens shall be the worlds Happy Ever After,”

Hey, love bugs 🐛 ❤️

I hope and pray that you all are well. I know the world is crazy right now and it’s scary ass hell. This virus has taken all of us by storm and doesn’t seem to be slowing down any time soon. Please, please and please stay safe and healthy but most importantly continue to believe in Fate.

Our stories have been written before we started to read the book of life. Don’t forget that. We are all destined.
