Captured By A Ruthless Vampire King

Chapter |54|~You Are My Air ~

Unedited.

Cyrus’s POV.

Before Cyrus comes to Embry.

(RECAP)

“Who is she?” Her voice is loud enough that I’m sure that every vampire, slave, and prison from miles and miles away are able to hear. “Who is the lucky bitch that was claimed by the Ruthless King,”

“Choose your next words wisely,” I warn. My monster is back. I know that her emotions have gotten the best of her, but if Ravana doesn’t tread lightly her emotions shall be the least of her problems. My monster will end her and I won’t do anything to stop him, past lover, or not. No one will disrespect my beloved.

Ravana’s head goes flying back as her wicked laughter fills the air. “Choose your next words wisely,” she repeats. “Your beloved is a dog. A fucking animal that belongs in the cage along with these animals,” she mocks while looking over each and every prisoner that is present.

Red hues are dancing along with my visions, I’m trying to hold my monster back. She is playing with fire. “Ravana,” I warn.

“Ravana,” she childishly mocks. “What’s wrong, my King? The truth hurts, doesn’t it? Who would have ever thought, King Cyrus the Ruthless King should be paired with nothing but a mutt. Your dick will be filled with nothing but fleas and tics,”

“Enough!” I snarl. I had enough of this shit. Fuck her. I turn around to walk away once again, any ounce of sympathy I had for this immortal is long gone. In all honesty, I’m holding myself back from permanently ending this love triangle bull shit once and for all.

“My words should be the least of your worries,” she warns from behind, officially waking my monster. “That bitch, whoever she may be life belongs to me,” she says and then boom.

With a loud furious roar, I turn around to face her, wasting no time charging in her direction.

She’s dead.

In a hurry, I zoom across the small cabin, grab onto her neck, and slam the bitch into the wall. My fangs are blazing and my vision is red. What the fuck did you think would happen? My monster doesn’t take threats lightly and neither do I.

The prisoners are thrilled! They are anxious to see a vampire spill another vampire blood.

Ravana attempts to kick and begins to twist as I raise her body high off the ground. Her sharps talons are clawing at my hands around her throat. Her skin is turning red and her eyes are brewing violet. She’s reaching for her powers but the bitch is a little too late. I dig my claws deep into her flesh, clenching down and making sure that she’s in too much pain to focus.

“Now, what were you saying,” taunts my monster, playing with his food.

“You heard me,” the brave bitch chokes out. Her eyes are blazing and fangs are also descending. “That bitch, whoever she may be life belongs to m…,” she tries to say but before she even gets a chance to finish her sentence.

A sudden flame irrupts inside my chest, engulfing my very soul. I lower her body into my own and then plunge my fangs deep into her skin.

The sound of her ripping flesh is the first thing you can hear. Followed by, her heavy voice as she releases a high-pitch scream that does nothing but provided an exhilarating experience to this well-deserved kill.

This bitch final moment causes a disturbance. The prisoners began to pound on their cells, chanting kill off you… Kill off your own. They are enjoying this and unfortunately for her, so I am. My sensitive ears vaguely pick up on multiple footsteps running in our direction. The guards are coming but I don’t give a fuck about that either.

This bitch life belongs to me. I’m too far gone. This bitch has pushed me over my limit.

How dare she threaten my beloved? Who the fuck does she think she is? She deserves death.

She deserves to rot in hell and that’s exactly where she’s going. Stupid little bitch.

Ravana screams louder as I dig my claws into the other side of her neck while continuing to hungrily devour her blood. The smell and taste of her blood are intoxicating. I’m draining every ounce of her essence. I want her to feel the pain.

She had the balls to threaten my beloved and now she will be eliminated.

I can sense the very moment we gain an additional audience. My security detail, some other soldiers, and whoever else is now present. They all stand in place, watching their beloved commander die. Yes! Shed a tear for the bitch that so foolishly believed she would live after threatening the life of my beloved. Her emotions ring loud and clear through our bond.

She feels betrayed and her heart still bleeds for me but I don’t give a fuck about that either. This bitter bucket bitch wants to get rid of my beloved, so I shall get rid of her.

In the process of Ravana's funeral, one of my men attempts to reach me over and over again, but my mind is set on burying this bitch and the thrill that comes along with the kill.

They can wait. I must eliminate the threat against my beloved life. Embry safety shall always be my first priority. At this point, Ravana screams are muffled cries as she desperately attempts to hang onto her life.

Death is now, knocking at her door. She is minutes, no seconds away from lying in her final resting place. It’s such an amazing feeling. I’m experiencing an overload of joy. She’s almost gone. I can feel her wretched soul, slipping away when a sudden jolt of electricity shots through Embry’s, and I bond, nearly knocking me to my feet. Ravana's motionless body falls down onto the ground in the exact same moment that Gutter reaches out to communicate with me.

“What the fuck is going on,” I snap at him, as my surrounding goes blank.

“Wolves are here,” he says. “Embry is missing. We are in pursuit,” his words nearly drive my monster to the brink of insanity.

“Sire, the Queen is missing,” says Adex. Gutters close friend, as my current surroundings come back into the picture. My neck and bloody vision snap in his direction. I’m met by a silent audience, every soul present eyes are centered onto me and her lifeless form.

I place my focus back onto her. She is still alive, barely. Her chest rises and falls as she gasps for air. She’s trembling. Her body has already started the process of healing, which is to be expected. She was my commander for a reason.

“That bitch that you're asking about,” I taunt, looking into Ravana flickering hazel and violet eyes, “Just saved your life,”

Ravana left-hand moves to the side of her neck, covering her wound. The cabin floor is soaked in her blood. It appears to be a murder scene, even though the bitch is still alive.

“The Lycan Prince was happy to hear all about her,” she chokes out in between her fit of coughing up blood... My monster slowly walks over towards her. The entire room is silent. There is a definite death sentence that is floating in the atmosphere.

Our audience is just standing back and watching. “Hmm, good,” hisses out my monster. “Maybe they both of you could fantasize about the two of us on your boat ride to hell,” I spit before grabbing Ravana by the back of the neck and once again holding her high in the air. This time she doesn’t struggle or fight for her life. She knows her time has officially come to an end. Pitiful. I really did expect more from her.

My fangs descend once again as I knock my head back to dive into her skin when a sudden ringing sound goes off inside my head.

“Fuck,” roars my monster, as the foreign feeling of someone attempting to force their way through my mental communication line blinds me. Ravana’s body drops to the ground again as I fall down onto my knees.

The prisoners go crazy as my men begin to circle me, I can feel them even though I can’t see them.

What the fuck?

No one has ever attempted to force communication, not even a King. I open my mind and allow the communication line to flow from the bond.

The intoxicating scent of my beloved travels throughout my entire nervous system quickly, making my entire body hum with pleasure as I take in the marvelous invisible gracious substance. Her scent.

She is my air.

“Cyrus,” growls my beloved as the image of her glorious wolf invades my vision.

“Yes, Sunshine,” I give her my undivided attention. “What’s going on?”

“Trouble,” she says. “Embry is having a panic attack. Our cousin is here, I don’t want to force Embry into action but I will. She needs you,”

“We need you,” she adds in, making me smile.

“Are you safe,” I ask her, as I reach out to touch her silvery-white and gray coat. Our bond runs so deep I can feel the well-welcomed electricity sparking fire into my soul, even though she’s not really here.

“Yes, I won’t allow anything to happen to her,” she growls out. “Gutter Butter is here, come quickly,”

“Gutter But-,” I attempt to say but our communication line is cut short as I’m forced back into reality.

Ravana is the first person I come in contact with. She’s still struggling to breathe and everyone else that is present remains silent, waiting for my next move. And when I say everyone! I mean everyone, even the Northern Luna eyes are glowing like night lights as she watches me cautiously.

I place my focus back onto Ravana. I know that I should end her. That would be the logical thing to do, but I don’t want to waste another second of my time on her when the woman that I love needs me. She’s not worth it. Embry shall always come first.

“Let this be a message,” I state loud and clear. “Once again this traitorous bitch escapes death, all because of my beloved. Long live your gracious Queen,” I chant, turning away to go to my beloved but I’m stopped in my tracks when all the men loyal to me begin to chant...

“Long live our gracious Queen,”

“Long live our gracious Queen,”

“Long live our gracious Queen,”

“Long live your gracious she-wolf Queen,” hisses the Northern Luna bitch as I walk past her cell. My security detail is following behind me.

My red eyes lock onto her yellow ones. Another bitch that constantly continues to cheat death. Claire’s pet. My monster flashes her a dazzling smile, showing off our bloody fangs. Whelp! Let’s see how loyal a dog truly is.

“Claire,” I provoke just to get a reaction. The Northern mutt entire body goes stiff. Bingo!

“If you touch her, you’re dead,” she has the nerve to growl.

My monster burst out laughing. She really does care for her. “Her heart has already stopped beating,” I tell the half-truth, just to provoke her. “Immortality is such a beautiful thing. It looks good on Claire,”

“Liar,” growls out The Northern mutt as she lets out a supposed to be a spine-chilling roar. The chanting about my Queen continues on.

“I’m a man of my word,” taunts my monster. “Ask this bitch,” I add in before turning to face Adex. “Place her in the cell with the dog. The two of them have a lot in common,”

“Yes! Sire,” he follows orders at once. I take a single step out of the cabin and suddenly I can breathe again. Now, it’s time to track down my beloved.

“Sire,” calls out Adex right before I take off. “Ravana magic was the only thing keeping the prisoners in line. How should we handle it?”

“Burn it! Burndown this entire cabin,” It’s time for the Northern mutt and Ravana to finally meet their end. They couldn’t have possibly believed that they were really going to live. I said once and I’ll say it again. I don’t take threats lightly.

“What are your orders concerning the Queen,” questions one of my men.

“I’ll deal with it,” I say before taking off to track down my Queen.

The run back to my estate is all a blur, I don’t think I’ve ever managed to cover so much ground before. Ever. Which shouldn’t be very surprising because I’m no slowpoke, but still?

There has never been anyone important enough for me to go running off to until Embry.

Damn, I’m sprung, especially when you consider the fact that I know that she is safe, physically anyway. It’s her mental state that’s troubling me. Embry wolf can handle her own.

That’s a proven fact but Embry human side allows her heart to get in the way of everything. That is a major issue in my eyes but at the same time she is who she is and I accept her open-heartily. She doesn’t have to lift a single finger. I’ll always be there to do the dirty work for her. Always.

I attempt to reach out to her one more time, only to be blocked by her wolf mental barrier. This has been happening the entire time during my short run back.

The possessive side of me wants to force communication like she did a couple a minute ago but I won’t, no matter how tempting it may be. I don’t want her wolf to lose focus if her cousin decides to attack. She needs to be ready. Both of them need to be ready.

I can only hope that her cousin choices her next course wisely. Embry’s family approval is very important to her. Hopefully, her cousin's love runs as deep as Embry love runs for them. The Wilde Dogs. Fuck, I still can’t believe that I was married into them. Wow.

My mind wanders elsewhere as my eyes hone in on my beloved from afar... Blood bleeds into my vision she’s particular naked, wearing nothing but my robe while being surrounded by my men. She is fucking crazy! Embry must have a death wish for every male vampire present.

Needless to say, none of that matters at this moment. I’ll teach her how to properly dress when I’m not around later. She needs to be in my clothing at all times.

Yup! I’m sprung. I can’t even think about the serious matters in a serious situation because my mind is seriously consumed with overthinking about Embry. I’m officially her little bitch.

“Deathtrap,” warns Gutter, gaining my attention as he takes a step in Embry’s cousin direction.

“Deathtrap,” I mentally repeat I told him not to call her that, but I must admit how fitting the name is, especially when you considered this current situation. Embry is a death trap to anyone of my men that has the balls to look anywhere at her while she’s in this state.

I take a step into the shadows behind a tree, just to sit back and watch. Currently, I’m standing a couple of meters away on top of the hill.

Embry still isn’t aware of my presence. Her entire focus is placed onto the Wilde wolf from her dream. So, they are not sisters but cousins. Interestingly, either way, I can see the resemblance.

Her cousin has the darkest shades of autumn-colored hair, raven dark eyes, and fair skin. She looks exactly how she did inside of Embry’s dream, besides the fact that her short hair has grown a fair deal. I must admit that she is beautiful, just like her cousin. I guess it’s a Wilde she-wolf trait because their men are nothing but little beasty’s.

“Come on, leech. Come get your issue,” growls out the mutt. I mean girl. Fuck. I really need to stop sounding like a racist fuck, despite how I feel about their species.

My beloved is a part of that species. When I insult one of them I’m insulting her and that is not my intent.

“Stay out of this,” Embry snaps at Gutter, sounding like a true Queen. Her eyes are locked on her cousin, whose eyes happen to be locked onto my claim. Now, that’s also very interesting.

She’s a smart one. Right now there is a silent dispute going on between both of them and their wolves. I can feel Embry’s emotions. She wants to defuse the situation before I make myself present.

Apparently, Embry’s cousin also feels the same way. I mean not about defusing the confrontation because of me, more like out of respect for Embry but still. From afar, I can see that she’s trying to calm her wolf.

But a wolf is a wolf. That why it doesn’t surprise me when Embry’s cousin's eyes glow golden. “You’re giving them orders now,”

“Celine,” pleads my beloved, and I have to suppress my growl. I don’t like the sound of her pleading or begging anyone for anything. “Can you please calm down, for me,”

“My King,” Gutter voice once again request an audience, “May we intervene,”

“No!” I tell him. I knew it was coming. My men's urgent need to protect Embry was felt the moment I presented myself. It is in their nature to protect the woman that’s connected to me, she-wolf or not.

The men loyal to me will give their lives for my beloved or lose it for betraying me because of her, either way, you look at it their lives are now connected to her.

“Calm down,” her cousin, voice draws me back in. “Calm down! Don’t you dare tell me to calm down when I risked my life to come to find you, only to find that you're not being held by the enemy? You are the enemy,”

“Celine that’s not f...,”

“Who is your mate,” her cousin wishes to know and my lips curve into a devilish smile as the wind blows. Automatically, Embry's awareness of my presence makes her heart skip a beat before it finally decides to pick up speed. She can smell me. My scent is also her air.

“Who is your mate,” the foolish girl questions Embry once again. Be careful what you wish for, I so desperately want to say but decide not to throw a match into the brewing fire.

Something tells me that she already knows exactly who I am and that she’s not going to be too happy about it.

Not that I can blame her.

It really is a huge pill to swallow.

Within a flash, I’m behind my beloved. Instinct takes over and she turns around to face me. For a brief second, there is a sudden pause in time. It’s just us. My beloved silent pleads for me to remain calm flows within me.

She’s worried but she has nothing to fear. I’m here for support and that’s it. I won’t harm her blood.

“I’m her mate,” I announce while taking her hand to ease her racing thoughts. It works. Embry immediately calms down. Her now gently beating heart is evidence. I’m her solace.

Gutter and the rest of my men bow down, showing their respect, which gains the curiosity of my beloved cousin. She’s no dummy. I can see her wolf calculating the fundamentals of whom I'm inside her head. It’s just her human side refuses to accept it, or more like she doesn’t want to accept it.

My eyes once again find their way to my Sunshine. I can sense her anxiousness and dread of what’s to come.

The pressure is on. She doesn’t want to lose another person from her past, but she knows that there is no hiding who we are to anyone. I won’t allow it. Embry belongs to me.

Whoever doesn’t like it could fuck off.

I bring her hands up to my lips and plant a kiss in hopes of ceasing her worries. “Everything will be okay, Sunshine,” I mentally communicate with her, which makes her heart skip a beat. That’s funny. It appears that my sunshine little wolf has decided to reach out to me without Embry’s knowledge.

“It was for her own good,”

“We keep telling ourselves that, Sunshine,” I respond back to her before placing my focus onto their cousin. “Embry Destiny Wilde belongs to me, “I express the obvious.

The little wolf makes a face. “And who the fuck are you,” she spits out, taking another step closer. Ah, we have a brave one. I swear it’s hilarious how my beloved looks like them, smells like them but acts nothing like them.

She’s the black sheep of the family just like me. Embry has no idea how much we have in common.

“Cyrus, please,” pleads my beloved, bringing my monster fourth. We hate it when she does that.

“Cyrus?” says the Wilde wolf. Celine right. I think that is her name.

“Yes, I’m Cyrus,” I tell her, completely ignoring Embry... We shall talk about her bad habits later. “Embry is the Queen who belongs me. I believe your people love to call me the Ruthless King,”

Silence. There is audible silence.

Celine shock and momentarily bewilderment is evident. Opp! It appears that I spilled the beans. I think she’s about to cry. Yes. She really does cry. A single teardrop trails down her face.

“Celine I,” whispers Embry.

“You’re dead to me,” she growls out at Embry before she shifts into her full-fledged wolf that is the same color as the snow.

Embry’s heart is breaking, literally, broke. I can feel her pain inside my veins. A blazing fire sears down my spine and my blood starts to boil. No one hurts my beloved.

No one. Celine's golden eyes lock onto my now drenched in red ones. Quickly, my monster prepares ourselves for what's to come. We know that she’s going to attack us but we must control ourselves. We made a promise not to hurt our beloved and we intend to keep it. She comes first.

As expected Celine wolf charges in our direction and we brace ourselves.

“Sire,” questions Gutter.

“Stand down,” I mentally mind-link with him and the fool sucks his teeth.

I can sense his monster desperate need to handle my lightweight, along with the rest of my men. They were trained to eliminate any threat, no matter how small the threat maybe. Watching, this scene unfolds also completely goes against their nature, which is understandable.

It goes against my true as well but things need to change.

Embry has switched up the game for me.

Celine wolf is seconds away from colliding....

Seconds away from landing, but she is intercepted by no one other than Embry.

“No,“screams my beloved, pouncing into the air and grabbing onto her cousin wolf's entire frame.

Once caught, she slings Celine wolf to the other end of the forest. Celine wolf lands gracefully on four paws, turns back around, and then she pounces once again. This time my beloved is the one caught off guard.

She trips over her own two feet and falls down onto the ground, taking Celine wolf down with her.

I take a step forward, I’m not going to just sit on the sideline, watching this scene unfold. Why the fuck would Embry intervene anyway, especially without the presence of her wolf? Not only is she in human form. Her eyes are also their natural shade of hazel. It’s official.

Embry is most certainly a death trap. Now, I have to be the bad guy and kill her cousin. Fuck!

After all of the progress that we’ve made, I have to go back on my promises because there is no way that I’m just got to sit here and watch her die. Judge me if you must but it is what it is.

“Don’t you dare,” Embry’s wolf growls inside of my head. “Allow her to handle this,”

“Are you crazy?” I question her. She must be!

“Yes I am,” she releases a wolfish laugh, I can even imagine a wolfish grin. “We both are! I am the reflection of you,” she laughs harder, rendering me silent.

That’s not funny!

“Celine,” calls out my beloved, struggling to push her supposed to be cousin wolf up from off her tiny frame. With each passing second, my monster control switch is ticking down like a ticking time-bomb ready to explode..

He doesn’t like this and neither do I, but I’m trying to respect my beloved wolf wishes.

Celine wolf refuses to listen. She continues to snap her canines and sharp teeth at my beloved face, attempting to take off Embry's head.

Somehow my beloved still manages to keep Celine wolf at bay. She’s truly is much stronger than she looks. The reality of this situation is that Embry could be deadly if she really wanted to but she doesn’t and that’s the problem. She doesn't want to.

“Please stop this, Celine,” she pleads with sorrowful eyes. That’s it! I can’t take this. Embry’s cousin playtime is over. She had a chance to still remain a part of this family.

I’ve been very patient. It’s time to put this bitch in her place, if she’s not with us she’s against us. That means that she seeks death. My monster breaks loose when my beloved chilling screams and sweet-smelling blood drips into the air.

I release a spine chilling roar of my own and charge but before I get there Embry manages to wrap her bloody legs tightly around Celines wolf frame. Then, she crutches down, causing a snapping noise in the process and someway pulls herself up to be on top of Celines wolf frame.

Celine wolf howls but Embry doesn't stop. Once she has her where she wants her my beloved decides to pins Celines wolf frame down into place, proving that she really is the most valuable player.

Immediately, the young Wilde wolf begins to stagger wildly underneath my beloved. She is a strong little wolf her self but my beloved proves to be stronger. She’s doesn’t budge. Not at all.

A full minute goes by with Embry just holding the crazed wolf down in place and I can't help but smile. Embry's human side just taught me a very valuable lesson. She too is more than capable of holding her own.

"Yes, she is," growls out her wolf, making me smile harder.

“I won't fight you, Celine,” cries out my beloved, regaining our attention. “No matter what you do I won’t fight you. You are my flesh and blood. You are my sister. I love you,”

Those three words cease Celine's wolf actions at once. A second pass, before she shifts back into human form. Her human form is drenched in sweat. She looks at my mate with sorrowful eyes of her own. Celine's heart is equally broken. I can see it.

“Well, you need to stop,” she barely whispers, “You need to stop loving me because I no longer love you,”

That’s a lie.

“You don’t mean that,” cries out Embry, instantly breaking my heart as well. I can feel my mate's pain as if it’s my own. I hate it.

She’s hurting and it’s all because of me. I did this.

“But I do,” angrily growls back Celine, while finding the strength to push my beloved off.

Embry stumbles back about to fall but I’m right here to catch her. I got her. I’ll always be here to catch her when she falls. Always.

“Celine you are my sister,” cries out Embry as I help her stand up straight.

“Not anymore,” responds Celine. “You picked a side now stay there. At this point, you don’t mean anything to me,” Celine spits, as she makes her way to stand on her own two feet. “You’re dead to me. Goodbye, Embry! I never want to see you again,” she adds in before turning to walk away.

“Celine,” I’m the one to say, surprising everyone present including myself.

“Don’t you dare speak to me,” she spits at me while turning back around. “This is your fault. You took my sister away from me,”

“No! He didn’t,” my beloved cries out. “This is on you! You’re choosing to turn your back on me, all because I found my mate,”

“Fuck your mate and fuck you,” she spits, earning a growl from my beloved. I wrap my arms around her tiny frame, preventing Embry from taking a step toward. She has blood trailing down the side of her leg. Plus, she can barely stand. There is no way I’m allowing her to partake in any dispute.

That’s completely out of the questions if Embry wants her cousin to live. She needs to relax. “Stay calm, Sunshine,” I whisper into her ear, and her entire body shivers.

The effect that I have over her body after everything I did amazes me. She was truly meant for me.

“No Celine! It’s not fuck me or him. It’s a huge Fuck You,”

Embry's words shock us all. Honestly, I think my beloved just managed to shock herself.

Celine's dark eyes flash golden. She takes another step forward, sparking fire into my soul. This isn't what she wants. It’s time for her to go.

“ I suggest you take your leave now,” warns my monster.

A moment of silence passes between us before Celine's lips curve into a smirk. “Sure,” she says while turning around, “But I’ll be back. This isn’t over,” and then she disappears.

Embry burst out crying the moment Celine is out of sight. Her entire body goes limp. She can barely stand but it’s okay because I’m here. I’ll always be here and I’ll never let her go. Never.

My body is her anchor, holding Embry in place. I can feel her heart crying out to me but that is okay as well. She can cry. I’m right here, wiping away her tears.

My security details make their selves scarce, giving Embry the privacy she deserves, and I continue to stand in place holding her. This is what she needs to do. She needs to let the past go, accept her present, and prepare for her future. Right now, we are all each other has. It’s just us.

Embry buries her entire face in the crook of my neck, breathing in my scent. I know that my aroma is therapeutic to her, just like how her scent is therapeutic to me. She needs me just like I need her.

We are each other’s air.
